American Inventor, a show about the biggest search ever for America's best new invention, is a series from Simon Cowell and the producers of American Idol. The 2007 season premieres on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

American Inventor, the embodiment of the ultimate American dream, will uncover the hottest new product and make one struggling inventor's dream come true. With one million dollars at stake, American Inventor will celebrate the best in homespun American ingenuity.

National casting calls were held in six major cities across the country for the second season. Thousands of inventors, tinkerers and entrepreneurs of all ages were drawn to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Houston, and Tampa for a shot at turning their dreams into realities. Viewers will see inventors all of all ages present their most prized inventions, featuring everything from the wacky to the heart warming.

American Inventor is the biggest search for the next great invention with wide consumer appeal� Envision the Cabbage Patch Kids�, George Foreman Grill�, Post-It� or Rubik's Cube�. A panel of expert judges will narrow down the initial entries to a group of finalists, who will each be given $50,000 to develop their product, refine it and take it to the next level. This is a show that's going to make the American dream come true for one person -- taking his/her idea, vision and creativity and helping to turn it into a mass produced product that will be in every American home -- but in the end it will be up to America to call in and vote on which invention is worthy of the one million dollar prize.

American Inventor's panel of expert judges in the second season include George Foreman, an Olympic gold medalist, heavyweight boxing champion, minister, philanthropist, and businessman; show co-creator Peter Jones, one of the UK's most successful entrepreneurs who has created a $500 Million Business empire; Pat Croce, pioneer in sports medicine and now a successful entrepreneur who bought the last-place Philadelphia 76ers in the mid-90s to steer them to the NBA Finals; and Sara Blakely, womenswear innovator, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.

Hosted by Nick Smith, American Inventor is produced by FremantleMedia North America, Simon Cowell's Syco Television and Peter Jones TV Ltd. Simon Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Siobhan Greene, Peter Jones and Clay Newbill are executive producers. Dug James and Tabitha Hansen are co-executive producers. In the season finale, the audience votes are in and counted and one of the three finalists will win the $1,000,000 grand prize, crowning him or her as the next American Inventor.

I watched american inventor for the 1st time on 7/19. This is the stupidest show on tv now. How can intellegent?? people vote for a tea maker & foil wrapper rather than the wallbanger or the deaf kid?? ...Continue »

This show has some good potential for helping some lucky soul get their invention into the market.Although some of the ideas are way off the wall, it makes this show worth watching,LOVE TO SEE THE JUDGES TRY NOT TO LAUGH ...Continue »
