The last episode of "Three's Company" - "Friends and Lovers (2)" - was the beginning for Three's a Crowd.
Jack Tripper (John Ritter) met Vicky Bradford (Mary Cadorette) and fell in love. Vicky denies Jack the marriage proposal, but they agree to live with each other. The apartment was upstairs from Jack's restaurant, Jack's Bistro. Vicky's father, James Bradford (Robert Mandan), decides to buy the restaurant and continually has surprise visits them disturbing Jack and Vicky when they are trying to get a life together.
"Three's a Crowd", at the end of it's first (and last season), was #38, a great fall considering "Three's Company" was the top sitcom from 1978-1982. ABC didn't know if they should cancel it, but in the end, "Three's a Crowd" left the air when ABC bought the former NBC show, "Diff'rent Strokes."

Theme Lyrics:
You and Me Together
We're gonna weather the odds and win,
Lovers they can't divide,
Making it side by side.
Trouble may be around us,
Standing our ground and we won't give in,
Swimmin' against the tide,
Makin' it,
Side by side!
Oh love is fun,
Now two makes one,
We can laugh and cry,
Cause love's a crazy ride,
When we're side by side. The last episode of "Three's Company" - "Friends and Lovers (2)" - was the beginning for Three's a Crowd.
