Man, 39 one way on that Trust the Mob and 38 the other way. I'd say the "Smartest Man in America" just got very lucky. More thoughts later...

Edit -- he won $250,000. Not bad.

The mob seemed smarter than he was.

Maybe so, but it wasn't the Mob who got the cash, eh?

No, the mob did not seem smarter than him. I believe that the producers were playing with him using the fact that he didn't own a television. Notice that most of the questions were pop culture type...something a genius would not need to know. At least he had the sense to quit at $250,000, unlike the idiot last week. Speaking of last week (203), didn't that show end with a contestant continuing on?

Also, the early questions were entirely too easy. With the new format, that is just a waste of time. Again, something the producers would encourage to minimize the payout per show.

My major gripe continues, GET THE IDIOTS IN THE MOB THAT CAN'T ANSWER THE QUESTIONS RIGHT OUT OF THERE!! But, it was nice to see the sister back.

    ...enough ranting...

The whole show is about pop culture. Thats it's format. And the episode that was supposed to air last night was replaced sometime earlier in the week with the one that actually aired. There is no air date set for that specific episodes return. I had to do a lot of juggling in the episode list omit that episode.

tb -- exactly. If you're not a type to follow pop-culture, then the questions on the show could mess you up. Which is why, I agree, he was extremely smart to bail and take his reasonably large amount of cash, which I'm betting he probably doesn't even really need anyway.

Usually, the questions come from a variety of fields and not just what was on Entertainment Tonight this week. Did you know what a nonillion is?

By the way, thanks for confirming the order mix-up. I didn't want to think I was going crazy or missed an episode. I do rely too heavily on the DV-R feature of my cable box and don't pay attention to TV listings.

Yeah, that's true, but you do still have to know your pop-culture.

And yes, I was able to noodle out the correct answer on the nonillion question from those that were available. I recognized the general prefix. But then again, I've always been good at math, and I watch Numb3rs.
