In the episode "Walk a Mile in My Tracks", Pug had to sit on a giant egg that was roughly the size of a car, in which Spot bragged that it was nothing and her mother can create eggs much bigger. However, in this episode, Spot's mother was proud because she laid a big egg and the entire farm was amazed, but the egg in this episode was twenty times smaller than the egg in "Walk a Mile in My Tracks".
Ed: Darlin', you are one big fat old sack of lard. Dumpling: Oh, thank you, daddy!
Rolly: That's it, we lost Dumpling. Lucky: No, she's gotta be somewhere. You just can't lose 300 pounds of rampaging bacon.
(After catching Ed in a net) Ed: What in blue blazes!? Rolly: This can't be good. Ed: What do you think you're doing? Lucky: Go back to sleep, Ed. You're having a dream. Ed: If I'm dreaming, then how's come I have to go back to sleep!?
Spot: It was a hot day in the hen house. Crazy hot. Hot enough to make a criminal stick to his case.
Cornelia: My egg! My beautiful egg! Vanished! Cadpig: Try to keep your sunnyside-up Cornelia. (Cornelia begins to cry even more) Cadpig: Bad choice of words.
Rolly: Why am I doing all the digging? Lucky: I told you. Because ice cream grows underground. Rolly: Oh yeah!
Dumpling: So it's a big egg, huh? Well I'm much bigger and getting bigger all the time!
Marlow: The name's Pullet Marlow, Private Chick. Mystery is my middle name. Rolly: I thought it was Irma.
Cadpig: Oh no! Farm Noir!
This episode marks the first appearance of Pullet Marlow.
The episode title is a parody on the title of a film noir movie entitled The Maltese Falcon.
