  • Solid pilot.

A great start to this show. You have to wonder what comes next for this couple considering they're already married by the end, so this is a romantic comedy then? About a young married couple living their life? I'm not quite sure the show has found their angle yet but this pilot was good at introducing the characters and the two families, and the best friends. We also find out that Jessie (Stacey Farber) has slept with one of Tom's (Michael Seater) best friends: Carter. That could come in to play later on this season. We've got two amazing actors: Degrassi The Next Generation's Stacey Farber and Life With Derek's Michael Seater, that is probably what got most fans interested in this show. I was impressed by the first episode, and it has fresh humor yet it's not all cheap laughs. I have a good feeling about this show, and my senses are that this show will be sticking around for another season. Solid first episode, the possibilities are endless from here.moreless
  • Strong Pilot. This show is sticking around. (Spoilers)

    8.5
This pilot was very well done. We dive right into the truth and dare game that has serious consequences. Michael Seater and Stacey Farber are good cast choices and have chemistry on screen. And they're funny, playing real teens who have real parents and real friends. The story was done well and it did feel realistic. There were original jokes that combined a bunch of topics jumbled together. Granted those topics were not new, but it was fresh. The best part was when Tom and Jessie tell each other things on their mind before the said-wedding which leads to the suggestion of less dairy ingestion for Tom and a surprising confession from Jessie. The basic premise (marriage) may be similar to several other shows, but the pilot kept it original, clean, and quick-paced, comparable to other shows doing well right now on the major U.S. networks (e.g. The Big Bang Theory, Cougar Town, etc.). Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised - I very much enjoyed it. That doesn't happen very often when I'm watching CBC.moreless
