  • Skiing, and hockey, and luge, oh my!

    8.5
Of the events that were on today, the ones that I really enjoyed watching were the various skiing events, the men's luge, and even though I'm not a fan of hockey, the game between Italy and Canada.

First off, the reason why I found that particualr hockey game exciting was how the Canadian women set a Olympic record by scoring 16 goals in their win over the Italian women. I thought that was pretty cool.

With the skiing and the luge events, what I like the most about them is how exiciting it must be compete in the women's moguls or the nordic combined, mainly because of airial tricks that are invovled. The same can be said, for me anyway, for the luge. What a rush to be speeding down the track laying on your back.

And lastly, with the figure skating that I watched (even though I'm not that much of a fan of the sport), I found it pretty impressive how the American pair was able to perform that difficult move.

With all that said, I have been pretty impressed with how the Winter games are going so far. I hope the next two weeks are as exciting as today's events.moreless

  • QUOTES (1)

    • John Baldwin (describing the throw triple Axel with Rena Inoue): We knew what we had to do in the short [program] to make the judges give it to us because we know how they act with the second mark and we know that teams that are ahead of us are probably gonna get that second mark over us, so we just wanted to shove it in their face, so to speak, on the first mark. So we did that tonight.
