  • The plot is off-kilter and off-the-wall, and so is Johnny.

I like this episode, but probably for all the wrong reasons. One -- Johnny Depp meets the always amusing and wonderfully bizarre John Waters, who has a small role as a tour bus operator for a religious cult (Waters will direct Depp in his first starring movie role "Crybaby"). Two -- the episode takes place during Spring Break in Florida, which is a nice change of pace from the usual 21 Jump Street fare. And three -- Depp morphs once again into something different. Having already observed Depp transforming himself from okey-dokey dorky to Mr. Cool in the space of 3 seasons, one is now treated to the specter of Depp becoming off-kilter and a tad bit strange. It's not overt, but it's there. He's also white as a ghost......Edward Scissorhands is not too far away.
