another great episode. I love how Penhall fits the misplaced youth perfectly, he's there just becasue "his dad sent him because he couldn't control him, and Depp (who looks rather attractive in uniform) has the role of the rebellious kid who actually wants to make a go of the army, i think the issue of "gaybashing" is well handled and the fact that people presume someone sat outside a certain cafe makes someone gay and deserve a beating makes great drama but is handled with the sensitivity the issue needs,i think a lot of the issues the show dealt with were things people in america at the time didnt really understand fully, excellent writing and tv makingmoreless
