      • For the fifth and final season, several new characters were added in an attempt to boost ratings and make up for the lost of Jackee as a regular. However, it didn't work as the series would be pulled from the schedule in March and placed on hiatus until May.

      • For the final season, Alaina Reed is credited as Alaina Reed Hall.

      • With this final season of 227 Jackee Harry was no longer a member of the regular cast. However, she would continue to make occasional appearances billed as "Special Guest Star".

      • New Cast member Kevin Peter Hall married Alaina Reed Hall in real life. Kevin Peter Hall played Harry in the TV series Harry & The Hendersons and the Predator in both Predator movies. This marked his return to NBC since starting in the cult series Misfits of Science. He and Alaina stayed married until his death of April 10, 1991 from AIDS.
