  • The series ends with Jack trying to save Audrey and prevent World War III.

WOW! Do I need to say more? An excellent ending to what has been a truly amazing season. I was hooked all the way from beginning to end. The best part of this episode was also the worst. The writers did a great job fooling everybody. We all thought Audrey was safe until.... Truly amazing. What was just as amazing was Jack and President Heller's reaction to the terrible news. We have seen through out the entire run of "24" that all of Jack's victories come at a tremendous cost. Yet, despite that it never seems old or tired. Such tragedies from his wife's murder at the season one finale to the final seconds of Audrey's life always hit the viewer's emotions hard. The shot of President Heller's hand on Audrey's coffin was nothing short of terrific. Speaking of President Heller, the news of his Alzheimer's Disease certainly gives echoes of Ronald Reagan. This episode ended on a great note. Though we have heard this many times, we see for sure just how strong Jack and Chloe's relationship is. Chloe is right. They are in fact each other's best friend. So much that multiple times during this series they have been willing to sacrifice their lives for the other. Jack may very well have, but I hope not. After such a great series, I am hoping this is not the last we have seen of Jack, Chloe or "24". Be strong Jack!moreless

Prima che si conclude la saga credevo che questa sarebbe stata l'ultima sfida per Jack Bauer,ma a quanto pare la battaglia non ancora finita.

The writers think if they gave us a happy ending the show would suck

It always has to end with good people killed and Jack on his way to be tortured, other way they think it is not good, wackos

  • Absolutely Amazing!!

This season ended quite simiarly to Season 5 to be honest, instead of the Chinese effecting vengeance on Jack, we have the Russians this time round. However, in Season 9, the ending felt so much more relieving, so much more pleasing and so much more comforting. Additonally, it actually felt like we as the viewers recieved some closure from the ending. I think all of these feelings are entirely due to Jack's reaction, namely, the happiness he gets from helping Chloe, his best and only friend, one last time by his own acceptance of his inevitable fate.

That was the truly touching moment of this episode for me. Although it is fair to say, the episode would not have been complete without the combination of all extremely powerful moments in this episode:

    - Audrey's death and the way it was executed, it came by sheer surprise after the initial "rescue", the writers managed to fool us one last time! And I must say Kate was terrific! I love her character!!

    - Jack's initial reaction, absolutely impeccable acting from Kiefer. I was almost going to begin crying myself when he broke down on the boat

    - Jack's extremely violent and very unexpected, but also impressive execution of Cheng. Very, very satisfying!!

    - President's Heller's speech to the British Prime Minister after his daughter's death and his overall acting was extremely well done.

This episode simply did not wrong, it was touching on every level, extremely sad and depressing, but somehow, ultimately, as I mentioned above, managed to bring about an ultimate level of relief, comfort and closure. TV at its finest and the writers were smart enough to "close" the show to an extent, but also leave it "open" if they decide to bring it back.

    I'm happy, extremely happy!!moreless
