I had my doubts about this show once. But when i first saw the amazing day 1 of Jack Bauer, it managed to kept me excited all time. But what i have never could expected was that the season was saving the best for last. I think that this is best episode i have ever seen of the show so far. Kiefer Sutherland performance is perfect, episodes pace is powerful and manages to show you everything that must appear to satisfy the audience in the little time it has, its twists and turns are fantastic. And the last two minutes... simply unforgettable.
A really really long day, which has a really really stunning ending.moreless

The first season of 24 is the most symply of all the show. Without complex politics traps or bombs, this season is one of the very best because its superb quality on every episode.
And its end, its one of the best episodes of the show ever, and the best season finale.

In this episode we will find out how Jack Bauer let behind his initial behaviour to became in the most maverick and "break-the-rules" man. His final showdown with the Drazens is the best scene of the season, and the final seven minutes will make you get up of the seat.

  • Great PayOff!!!!!

    "Perfect"
This 24 Season had a great Buil up, that I have no choice but to give a 10.

The Pay off is great, and the writers and the producers couldnt do better.

How they tied Drazen, Kim, Jack, Teri, Nina and Palmer into this season conclusion was a genius Plan.

A sad Finale is better than the usuals happy finales. This make you feel this was not for nothing.

How they caught Nina was also great. It was impossible to discover in time that she was the mole, if she didnt comitted a crucial mistake with Jack.

For the action I have no words, simple beautiful. Thanks god that Kim managed to escape for herself, was better this way.

And Finally Palmer take a decision regarding sherry.

Overral, a excellent payoff for a series that deserves to be one of yours top Shows.moreless

  • Nothing quite like the greatest "24" finale/episode ever

    "Perfect"
Say whatever you want, but the finale of S1 juggles great drama and great suspense without feeling rushed, convoluted, or underwhelming, resulting in an extremely satisfying finish to the season.
Jack-wise, the first third of the hour focuses on his confrontation with the Drazens (they die, he doesn't), and the rest on his race back to CTU to stop the treacherous Nina from escaping.
Meanwhile, the Palmer arc ends as Sherry crosses the line one too many times and gets slapped with a divorce. And Kim somehow escapes danger and gets back to CTU safe and sound.
All of these major plotlines are nicely wrapped up in the closing minutes, setting the stage forsomething unexpected. Without giving too much away, the final scene is a moment that will prove to any first-time viewer that "24" is not your average television drama.
Jack's emotional breakdown and subsequent shootout with the Drazens, along with Palmer yelling Sherry's head off, constitutes the great drama, while Jack's race to CTU, juxtaposed with Nina making her escape, provides the great suspense.
The writers were essentially winging it throughout the second half (that's what I hear, in any case), and it's really kind of obvious when you look back on it, but it sure isn't when you watch this episode. The finale just feels perfect, like any other way to end the season wouldn't have felt right. So let us thank Stephen Hopkins for his tremendously awesome direction. We'd better, since it's his final "24" escapade.

    Hourly Highlight:
So long, Drazens! Don't let the door (or yet another of Jack's bullets) hit you on the way out! But really, I don't think any other Bigbad has had a better departure from the show than this. Plus, it gives us a glimpse of the Jack Bauer that we'll come to know and love in future seasons. Giggity? Yes. Yes, it is.moreless

This is a good episode! One of the best actually, it has some leaks though:
_ If Nina was the spy, how come Jamie was the one going to the bathroom to send information and the one answering the phone?!
there are some things unconcluded ...

    • When Nina's deception was finally discovered, the facility went into lockdown. Why then, was the elevator still operational and the garage open to allow Jack to drive in? Edit
    • Goof: There is a huge goof when Jack is attempting to get proof of Nina's deception. According to the tech that Jack calls, the video surveillance of the room where Jamey had been killed had been erased by Nina, but she didn't know about the digital backup which is the proof Jack showed to Mason. The problem is that when Jamey was discovered as a traitor spying for Gaines (7:00am-8:00am), Tony and Nina put her in that room specifically because it didn't have any surveillance as they didn't want Gaines to see that they had Jamey in custody. Edit
    • Goof: (Continuity) Kim throws hot coffee on the face of a Drazen's assassin. 10 or 15 minutes later the same guy appears again shooting Jack Bauer with no signs of burn on his face. Edit

    • This episode marks the first time that a silent clock is used to close the episode. The silent clock would become infamous over the years as concluding a highly dramatic moment, usually the death or grave injury of a prominent character. Edit
