  • Another amazing Episode!!!!!!!!!

Another amazing episode, following the previous one.

Jack situation seemed impossible to overcome, and you don´t really know what Gaines wanted with Jack, until near the End.

All of the scenes involving the Palmer assassination, was very well done, with Jack always seeking a solution to stop this attack.

Tony and Nina made a great Team. Like I was predicting, Tony is a good character and now he was essenctial for Nina to discover who is the mole in CTU. How they caught Jamey was very well done.

Teri and Kim now are together, and their situation created a suspenseful scene at the end.

Overral, another amazing episode, that mantain the level of excitement.
  • All the action...

This episode was amazing.. first the whole action what was going on.. then the excitement. Nina and Tony together make great team and they getting Jamey out and learning what she knows and using her - I think the best part of this episode goes for them.

I cannot say that Jack now alone trying to save his family was less exciting. His strugle to get message out, save his family and still play their game.. that was very well done.

And I think this was one of the first episodes I really did not think that it would have been better without Kim and Teri's storylines as they are quite annoying chars.. But this time they worked fine.

7:02 A.M.-7:08 A.M.: As Nina is leaving the scene of the crime, the California primary opens. Jonathan's on his way to the breakfast when Gaines rings him to make sure he's in. Sherry asks Palmer if he's decided what he's going to do. He says he's rewritten his speech, which now includes the truth. Keith and his father have an argument, as Keith expects he'll be going to prison for killing a white man. Before Jonathan gets past security, Palmer's press assistant, Jessica Abrams, introduces herself, as she's a big fan. Pierce runs a check on Jonathan, and gives him clearance. Gaines' thugs bring Teri into his compound. Gaines orders Jack to pull over at a bus stop. A man waiting there has been expecting Jack, and gives him a briefcase. Jack won't carry on until he can speak to his family, so Gaines lets his new arrival have a word on the phone before making him drive to the power plant where the breakfast is being held. Gaines tells Teri she'll be released within an hour if Jack does as told. She asks to see Kimberly, so the thugs take her there. 7:08 A.M.-7:11 A.M.: Back at CTU, Jamey sees she's gotten a message, retrieves a handheld device from her desk, and leaves her station. Milo, who's in a bad mood, stops her to ask what happened to Nina and what he should do with the keycard. Jamey doesn't care, brushes him off, goes into the ladies' room, locks herself in a stall, turns on her handheld, and takes the message. It's from Gaines, who -- surprise, surprise -- is watching her. He asks if Milo knows he's working on the wrong keycard. She types "yes." Next, he asks if this is going to be a problem. She types "no." Gaines finishes the Q&A session by relaying that Nina is dead, so make up a story for why she's not there. Jamey doesn't seem to be a very good spy, as the news personally affects her. Two of Gaines' thugs reunite Teri and Kimberly, and lock them both up in the back room of the shed. They cry and weep and hug and do assorted girly things. 7:15 A.M.-7:17 A.M.: Kimberly asks her mother where Jack is. She only knows that he knows where they are. Kimberly apologizes for being a bad seed, and explains the situation about Rick, Dan and Janet when questioned. 7:17 A.M.-7:25 A.M.: Nina comes upon a deserted building, and busts her way in. Conveniently, there's a working phone there for her, so she tries to call Jamey for help. Lucky for Nina that Jamey is not at her desk and doesn't answer. Tony sees her phone ringing, but leaves it be. Nina hangs up, and this time calls Tony, who answers his own phone. Nina won't explain the entire situation, except to say that no one else at CTU can know she's alive. She asks him to get Jamey. He doesn't want to until he tells her what's wrong, but caves in after being yelled at. While he's about to hand her the phone, he overhears Milo arguing with Jamey about when Nina will return. Jamey replies dishonestly to Tony that she just talked to Nina a few minutes ago. So Tony doesn't let Nina speak to Jamey, and instead says she just lied to him about her whereabouts. In a panic, Nina warns Tony that they can't trust her, and Jack told her earlier that CTU has been infiltrated. Realizing Jamey probably thinks she's dead, Nina asks Tony to secretely bring her back in, as the surveillance system is probably bugged. Tony gets her address, and sends a car to pick her up. Palmer and Sherry get out of their limo, greet some men at the door and enter the power plant. Jack is now inside, too, but still needs to get through security. Pierce asks him to open the case the man at the bus stop gave him. There's a laptop inside, and Pierce wants to know why he needs one. After Jack makes up an explanation, Pierce asks him to turn it on. Seeing it work satisfies Pierce, who lets Jack in and tells him the senator is on his way. No sooner than he's clear than Jessica calls Jack over. They knew each other from high school, and she wants to make up for old times, but Gaines won't let him. Once Jack has excused himself from his old friend, Gaines says he has to give the briefcase to one of the terrorists, and now must wait until it's time. Jack sees Palmer arrived. Jessica welcomes him in, and introduces him to the photographer, Martin Belkin. 7:29 A.M.-7:37 A.M.: While Kimberly is dozing off, Teri looks for a way out of the shed. She fools around with a locked window, but is interrupted by Rick, who has brought some food. He introduces himself to her politely. She doesn't know that Rick is a buffoon, and attacks him for what he did to Kimberly. Gaines' thug enters the shed and sees the two in a struggle. Teri lets go, and the thug warns Rick not to make friends, as the ladies won't be around much longer. That's not what Rick wants to hear. Gaines tells Jack it's time, and gives him his new position on the chessboard. Jessica gets in his way again, and starts digging up more old memories that Gaines doesn't have time for. Gaines sees Jack is trying to write a message to her ("Get Palmer Out"), and has another one of his men, Jared, save the day by bumping into Jessica before Jack can hand her the piece of paper (which he told her contained his phone number). That plan foiled, Gaines orders Jack to wait in a medical station until he's needed. The car Tony called for Nina has brought her back to CTU. After she makes sure that the cameras can't see them, Tony lets her in through a side entrance. She explains that Jack is not himself, because the terrorists have his wife and daughter. Tony asks what does she want to do about Jamey. Nina doesn't want to do anything yet, and doesn't want Tony to call Secret Service or else Teri and Kimberly may get killed. Tony couldn't give a crap about them, and goes to make the call anyway. Nina stops him at first, but then lets him call. Jonathan enters the room where Gaines has had Jack wait, and makes Jack assemble the rifle he's going to shoot Palmer with, courtesy various parts that were stashed under Jack's laptop. With Jack's prints all over the weapon, Jonathan packs up the rifle in his camera bag and goes to leave when Jack pulls a gun on him out of anger. Jonathan doesn't flinch, and tells Jack to put it away or someone will get hurt. Jack doesn't put it away -- at least not until after Jonathan has left the room. 7:41 A.M.-7:44 A.M.: Tony goes to see Milo. While Jamey is present, Tony tells him that the keycard was a forgery and he found the original in Jack's office. Milo wants to know why Jack swapped it. Tony says it doesn't matter, since he's sent it to the archive lab, and Milo is getting it back after they're done with it. Tony leaves and calls up Pierce, while Nina monitors Jamey's panic attack from one of the computers. Tony tells Pierce that Jack may have been compromised, is a threat, and the appropriate action should be taken. Nina tells Tony via an ear microphone that Jamey has gotten up and gone to the bathroom. Through Nina's orders, Tony follows Jamey, warned that he has to time his entrance and exit right as the cameras are on a 20-second loop. As they both wait for the 20 seconds to end, Jamey takes her place in the stall and starts to dial Gaines. Nina gives Tony the signal to go. He pulls his gun, storms the bathroom, enters the stall next to Jamey's, points the gun at her, and orders her out. She drops her handheld, picks it up, and Tony rushes her out of the restroom at gunpoint, all in just under 20 seconds. And how nice of Tony -- he let Jamey hang on to her means of communication the whole time, too. 7:44 A.M.-7:48 A.M.: Pierce interrupts Palmer while he's making small talk with some people. Pierce says he's been informed there's a problem with one of the CTU agents, and Palmer needs to leave now. But Palmer doesn't want to leave, as he's really itching to be assassinated. So he recommends Pierce find the problem agent and take care of him. Through his top-secret security handphone, Pierce tells the good agents there that Palmer is going through with his speech, so the only other option for them is to find and detain Jack. After hearing Pierce's description of Jack, Agent Hayes responds, asking Pierce how to proceed. Tony brings Jamey back to the room where Nina was spying on her. And, look, she's still got her handheld. Nina is somewhat smarter than Tony, and swipes the handheld away from her, while both inquire as to whom she was calling in the bathroom. Jamey plays dumb, so Nina gets violent with the little pinko, and threatens to send her to jail. Out of fear, Jamey explains that they only asked her to tap into the security cameras at first, but later started sending her messages -- messages about Jack and the keycard. Jamey swears she never thought it would come to what it has and didn't think anyone would get hurt. But no matter how many times Nina and Tony ask, she won't say who she was doing it for unless they give her Agency Counsel. Fed up with her, Tony breaks out his handcuffs and chains bawling Jamey to a desk. Jack is ransacking the medical room looking for something or other, but stops when he hears Palmer being welcomed to the podium.
  • A very memorable and amazing episode!

    "Superb"
I love this episode and the whole scene involving Palmer's breakfast makes this episode very memorable.

Gaines takes Jack to the breakfast in which his motives aren't clear until nearer the end of the episode, but this is the big one. And the eye contact between Jack and Palmer was a great addition. Will Jack continue to follow Gaines orders and let Palmer die for the sake of his family? Or will he find a way to stop it?

The latter is what happens and moment when Jack causes a distraction is really nerve-wracking! Not only does it affect Jack, Gaines, Palmer and the many people at the breakfast... But Teri and Kim too. The ending with Teri and Kim is when the tension builds up - nobody wants them to die as we've grown attached to these two characters as we've seen what they've gone though throughout the last several hours. They believe their lives are over when the men have the guns to their heads and the acting of them both is perfect.

The CTU scenes between Tony and Nina are also very good in this episode. I loved the conversation between them on the phone as they put the pieces together with Jamey. Tony really grows as a character in this episode.

Quote of the hour! Milo Pressman: "They didn't bring me here at five in the morning to format files!"
  • Power up with breakfast

    "Superb"
It looks like Jack's seriously screwed as he continues following Gaines' orders at the San Clarita Power Plant, this time faced with a choice between saving Palmer and saving his family.

This hour is where Tony stops being a douchebag and actually does something: taking Jamey the mole captive. Of course, he did it with Nina's help, but we'll learn later that he's not completely dependent on her when it comes to good storylines.

This is actually the first episode where all the parallel-running storylines come together: Jack's at the power plant, Palmer and Sherry are at the power plant, Gaines is watching the power plant footage, Tony and Nina are watching the power plant footage, and Teri and Kim are under the axe should Palmer live.

The wait for the assassination attempt creates a lot of anxiety in those who've never watched this before and therefore don't know whether Jack will let Palmer die or find a way to stop Gaines' plan. But in the end, Jack saves Palmer, and thanks to some quick thinking from Tony and Nina, Teri and Kim's lives are spared. At this point, the story refreshes itself. Now that Jack's saved Palmer (who's only safe for the time being), we shift to a new arc where Jack must race to save Teri and Kim, and believe you me, that's gonna be goooood.

    Hourly Highlight:

    Jack and Palmer's eye contact.
  • The big payoff

    "Great"
This hour marks the first time on the show that absolutely everybody’s storyline crosses with one another and are tied to a single event. In some way or another, every major character is trying to manipulate events or achieve their own end at Palmer’s breakfast speech. Except for Teri and Kim, whose lives are dependent on what Jack does at the breakfast anyway. Gaines and Jonathan are trying to assassinate Palmer, Jack is trying to protect Palmer and his family, Tony and Nina are also trying to protect Palmer, but this means that they must go against Jack and call him in as a threat. And Palmer is trying to tell his story about Keith and Gibson before Maureen goes on the air .

Tension is of course built in that it seems that either Palmer or Jack’s family must die, and indeed much of this episode will have you holding your breath until the resolution at the end. However, I could also say that the writers milk all that they can out of the situation at hand. There are only really two significant plot developments this episode: the first being Tony and Nina arresting Jamey, and the second obviously being the climax and the outcome of the assassination attempt. And this is now the third hour that Gaines has been barking orders into Jack’s ear, and the writers seem to have created a pattern where Gaines tells Jack to do something, Jack initially refuses, but then eventually gives in to the demand. It gets rather tedious after a while.

Oh, and about the end: what a cop out! Gaines lets Jack’s family live because it wasn’t Jack’s fault the plan didn’t work? Cmon!

The Best: The scenes where Jack is walking around in the crowded breakfast, making eye contact with people to see if they work for Gaines. Plus, Jack and David first eye contact.

The Worst: Teri telling Kim that she loves her. Its pretty sad when the daughter appears more brave and yet also more rational than the mother.

7 AM – 8 AM Jack going to the Palmer breakfast is one of my favorite scenes threw out this season in the Teri and Kim storyline they are reunited for the first time Tony and Nina uncover who the mole is and find out that they are working for Gaines The whole episode is really good and nerve racking mainly at the breakfast where Ganies wants Jack to help in the assassination attempt my over rating for this episode is 8.9 out of 10 because this episode has good story flow and great action in it The End of Review.
  • Pandemonium at the Power Plant! Can Jack save Palmer?

    9.8
    "Superb"
After a series of “set-up” episodes, everything leads to this: the Palmer breakfast at the power plant. All of the major storylines, particularly Jack and Palmer’s, will come together this hour. Palmer, in the recent hours, has been butting heads with his wife Sherry and his son Keith and how to handle the crisis in which a reporter would go forward with a story that implicates Keith in the death of Nicole’s rapist. Jack also has a family situation to deal with, though his is a matter of life and death, as Gaines now has control of both Kim and Teri. Back at CTU, Tony and Nina discover that Jamey is the dirty agent and interrogate her to determine Gaines and Jack’s family’s whereabouts.

This episode has to be one of the most nail-biting, pulse-pounding, defibrillator-requiring hours of television ever, but in the end, Jack succeeds in saving Palmer, but at his family’s expense. However, some quick thinking from Tony and Nina saves Teri and Kim’s lives in time, but in an incredible final scene, I and many other viewers were pushed to the brink to believe that Teri and Kim were goners. Now, with this climactic, thrilling, and emotionally intense episode, the threat shifts from saving Palmer’s life to saving Teri and Kim’s lives. What will happen to Jack, as he’s led away by the Secret Service in handcuffs? Will he be able to save Teri and Kim? Many questions to be answered, and this plot arc continues to get better and better with each episode.

    Overall score: 98/100 (A+)

The best episode of season 1 to date. I liked the infultration of Martin Bulkin and Jack Bauer into the presidents (candidate) press conference. The only real goof I saw in the episode was Palmer get introduced and then when the commercial came back he was still saying his thank yous and all that fun stuff that should have taken only like a minute or two...but im just being picky. I liked the way Jack Bauer foiled the assassination attempt, it made it seem like he had nothing to do with it even though he did in the end. 10/10

now jack bauer gets close enough to david palmer in order to assassinate him, but jack knows better, he gets himself arrested in the process so he doesn't have to do what he was told to do. kim gets reunited with teri after she gets kidnapped. the plot goes through several suprising twists with this episode. Tony and Nina finds out who the mole is insisde CTU, they deal with this mole. Watching all the developments in this episode is so much fun, I really had a good time, but you can't get your guard down just yet, there are more hours to go in this season.

Great twist! Right before Walsh was killed he said that Jack could trust Jamey then you assumed she could be trusted, just like that. As it turns out, Jamey was working for Gaines. I definitely didn\\\'t see that coming. How could Jack\\\'s chief superior be wrong about something like that?
  • One of 24's best. Episode summary and a few future episode spoilers in review.

    10
    "Perfect"
Few writers would be able to keep the suspense and intensity of an assassination attempt going for the entire 24-hour arc without some payoff. 24 had some trouble during its first season, and if they lead the viewers along for the entire season, it would've certainly ensured cancellation. Luckily, they had built in this payoff. Throughout the first season, they emphasized the importance of this breakfast. It clearly lived up to its hype. Both the Palmer storyline and Jack's reach a major head and the result is extremely tense and suspenseful, a great example of 24.

The first moments establish the main action of the episode. Nina groggily searches for anything that can get her back to CTU so she can inform them about what she just experienced. Meanwhile, polls have opened in California. Politicians, journalists and labor leaders are preparing to get a glimpse of the senator. Unbeknownst to everyone, one of those people is assassin Jonathan, who informs Gaines he's on schedule. He manages to get in without a problem.

Palmer stands outside on his hotel balcony, obviously prepping himself to make what will be one of the most important speeches of his. Sherry steps out and asks if he's ready to go. He tells her that he is going to come forward about Keith before the press can. Neither she nor Keith is happy about this. Keith sees this as a political move. He doesn't believe that the public will see it as an accident. Palmer is more sure that Keith can't walk away from something as extreme as this, but that doesn't stop Keith from storming out.

Gaines, still controlling Jack, instructs him to get a briefcase from one of his associates. When Gaines refuses to tell him what is in it, Jack stops obeying for a moment. Gaines quickly reasserts himself by putting Teri, recently arrived to the compound, on the line. I really liked the shot from Teri's point of view, showing the lights peaking through the black cloth while we hear her whimper in fear. It's an effective way to show her emotional state at the beginning of the episode. Teri only says a few words, but it's enough to convince Jack to stay on track.

After Gaines orders Jack to the power station, he sends Jamey a message. On her way to read it, she bumps into Milo, grumpy over not given any meaningful work. It's funny now how much of a cult figure Milo has become when he wasn't that likable on first glance (although his sudden disappearance had a lot to do with that). In these early appearances, he is cranky. Never to the point that Chloe would reach in later seasons, but still noticeable.

In the bathroom, Jamey pretends she's checking her hair. When the other woman leaves, she heads to a stall to receive Gaines' message. Gaines asks if Milo knows the keycard is fake and if it's going to be a problem. When she tells him it won't be a problem. He informs her that Nina is dead and she should make up a story to explain her absence. Now this probably is the most off thing about this episode. Jamey didn't need to know about Nina's death. Although Gaines doesn't know Nina is still alive, when it turned out she was lying, she would be outed as the mole. We see that it has affected her as her hand slightly shakes as she puts the stylus back into the PDA.

Despite their plans, Gaines never intended on harming Teri and Kim before Palmer was killed. When Teri asks to see her daughter, he politely agrees (although his thugs still drag her and Kim into the barnyard of doom.) Their ordeal isn't over, but being together certainly eases their minds. Kim tells Teri about her ordeal and learns that her friend has died. This is where we see Teri's maternal side. It's still tough, yet Teri provides a source of support for Kim.

Aside from all the good drama it later provided, keeping Nina alive gave us a venue to tell CTU what Jack was doing. She manages to find a farmhouse with a working phone, where she calls Jamey, to no answer and then Tony, who does. Nina tells him about her situation. She doesn't say how she got to East Hollywood, and the bizarre request not to let anyone know she's alive frustrates Tony to the point where he threatens to bring it to Chappelle. Then he hears Jamey mention that Nina told her that she would be out all day. Nina puts it together and realizes that Jamey is the mole Jack warned him about earlier.

Meanwhile, Pierce grills Jack at the security check in. Pierce requests that Jack open the briefcase Gaines' thug gave him twenty minutes earlier. We don't know what is in it, but it has something to do with the assassination attempt. Jack doesn't know what to expect either, but has to comply. These moments feel much longer until it is revealed that they only find the laptop, while we remain in the dark about the sniper rifle underneath.

With that obstacle passed, Jack runs into a member of Palmer's press team, an old high school friend of Jack's. Gaines quickly tells him to separate. He obeys, but Jack is still working on his plan to prevent the assassination. As Jack walks around, he and Palmer catch each other's eye for a moment. This moment where the two heroes of the piece meet is well done. One of my favorite things about 24 is the interactions between these two characters and this moment is a good starting point.

Teri lets Kim nap briefly when Rick stops by with some breakfast for them. There's immediate tension as Teri knows that he kidnapped Kim, but before he can tell her that he was too much of a coward to do anything, Eli comes in to get him. As they leave, he makes a remark about how Rick shouldn't make friends since they won't be around for long. Teri gets the meaning behind that Gaines' promise was a lie and starts to think of a way to protect Kim when from knowing too much.

We see despite his situation, Jack is still determined to protect Palmer while making it appear to be casual. He runs into his old friend again, and tries to warn her about the situation. Gaines is obviously smart enough to know what's going on, and sends Jack into one of the medical room away from the action.

Nina returns to CTU, where Tony sneaks her into a "dark" room, where she updates him about the current situation. Tony urges that secret service be alerted. For the first time, Nina has to make a decision against Jack. Despite her belief that Jack wouldn't do anything to hurt Palmer (which she is mostly correct about), their assignment has been to protect Palmer first.

At the medical station, Jonathan arrives and pulls up the laptop, revealing the gun parts Jack has to assemble. This is to make sure Jack's prints are all over the weapon. Jonathan doesn't care much about if people will believe Jack did it. As he walks out, Jack pulls his gun, but even he must've known it would be pointless. If Jonathan dies, then Teri and Kim die.

Tony and Nina hatch their plan to root out Jamey without arousing suspicion from Gaines. Tony tells Milo that the real card was found. Whether that was true, it puts the pressure on Jamey. As she goes to the women's room to inform Gaines about this development, Tony sneaks in when the camera loops turns away from them. This is a major turning point for Tony's character. Before that, we've seen him as someone who constantly clashed with Jack and Nina's loyalty toward him. Now we see a commanding other side to him.

Following CTU's assessment, Pierce tries to convince Palmer to leave the plant before anything can happen. However, Palmer needs to come forward about Keith, so he agrees to cut some of the mingling, but keep his speech. It wouldn't be any fun if Palmer wasn't directly in harm's way, would it? And as Palmer is introduced, Jack frantically tries to find something in the medical station he could use. He can't and time is running short. How can he save Palmer and protect his family?

Meanwhile, Tony takes Jamey to the room where Nina is located. This obviously freaks out the uncovered rat. At first, her feigned innocence doesn't hold against Nina and Teri's threats of treason charges. While she gives some information, she remains quiet about Gaines until she is given agency council. Jamey could be a valuable tool, but will they be able to do something in time?

It's showtime. Both Palmer and Jack's stories culminate in this moment. Jack is ordered to walk to Jonathan's location, where he'll be handed the gun after Palmer is shot. Jack doesn't believe this demand, but Gaines reminds him of what is at stake. Before he can get there, a secret service agent stops him. A few hundred feet away, Palmer is delivering his speech to an enthusiastic crowd and decides to tell them. But before that can happen, Jack reaches for the agent's gun, creating pandemonium as agents tackle Jack and Palmer is whisked out.

Gaines, feeling that Jack deliberately sabotaged the mission, orders Eli to kill Teri and Kim immediately. As things become crazier at the power plant, Teri and Kim are dragged out to shallow graves, confirming that Gaines was going to kill them regardless of how Jack acted. It is a tense few moments, but Jamey pulls out enough to save them. Calling Gaines, she convinces him that Jack was picked up for breaking protocol. It's enough to give Gaines incentive to give his family a last second reprieve. Now Jack is in custody and we're left wondering what can happen next.

Once you catch you're breath, you're dying to find out what happens next. This is what happens when 24 is at its best. For the entire hour, the tension doesn't ease. It almost made me uneasy (but that could've been what I had for dinner the first time I saw this). And those final minutes are a doozy.
  • Using the word tense would be an understatement...

    "Perfect"
After the previous episode of Jack shooting Nina, this episode picks up where the scene left of and shows a very dirty Nina walking mindlessly looking confused. A box opens up taking up the other half of the screen and reminds us what day it is, the day of the Californian Presedential Primary. It's also the day that Gaines' plan comes together, and we're reminded of that also by the sniper, Johnathan making his way to the Breakfast with Palmer attending.

As soon as you've seen the first three minutes of the episode you know it's going to be good. All the previous episodes had been building up to this primary, so it's something of a checkpoint for the first season.

Thankfully, the episode doesnt quit, and nail biting tension is supplied in bucketloads. As a result, it's in this episode that there's lots of pivotal moments: Teri and Kim are reunited, Tony and Nina realise who the mole at CTU is, Jack and Palmer meet...I could go on forever, that's how important this episode is to the first season.

Character wise, Tony is given a huge push in this episode, and really shows his weight as a character. It's in this episode he gets "tough" and you realise just how cool he is. Carlos Bernard played him brilliantly, and along with Sarah Clarke as Nina, they made a good duo. Furthermore, we get to see an emotional side of Jamey, the generousity of Gaines, and Jack being controlled like he's never known how.

When Gaines first contacted Jack back in the hospital no-one knew what was going on or where it would lead, but seing Jack being a victim and without control is a pleasant change, and one that without a doubt adds loads more tension and suspense to the show.

Continuing on from all the previous tension, this episode has the best ending of the series yet, with both Kim and Teri on knees and with guns to their heads. Over the last couple of hours you'd really started to appreciate them and the Bauer family as a whole, so death of one was the last thing you'd wanted to see.

Thankfully, they're not shot, and Gaines decides "we still need them alive". Phew!

  • Fingernails do not like this episode. For once one watches the episode I've nicknamed "Palmer Breakfast," they will have been completely eaten away in panic.

This episode definitely stands the test of time. I could easily pop in this episode after I'm done typing up this review and easily be entertained. It cleverly had almost every storyline intersect in this riveting episode and had all of the great moments listed above. It's very conflicting watching this episode. You really don't want Palmer killed, but you want don't want Jack's family killed at the same time. You could feel the emotion coming through Jack throughout this episode, especially in the ending when he tells Gaines not to hurt his family. Elisha Cuthbert and Leslie Hope did a great job acting out their final scene in this episode. Wow, I definitely do need to see this episode again. Maybe tomorrow some time I'll be able to fit it in.
