  • Nina is back, uh oh!

Nina Myers is back but why did Jack have to stare at her so much as she entered CTU? I know hes angry at her for everything shes done but in my opinion he shouldn't have given her the satisfaction! And I'm unsure whether it was such a good idea to bring Nina back so soon, I guess I'll have to be proved wrong. =]

I'm also going to have a moan at Jack for not being sensitive about George's condition. He has become such a hard ass since Teri died.

The Palmer storyline was great in this episode. The ending when the chopper had crashed was mega good. The Kim storyline sucked though. Its annoying how shes gone and told her boyfriend about the nuclear bomb. All her plot is about for the next six hour is 'Lets run away from L.A!!' =/

And it is good that Tony has become involved in the Warner storyline. Its become a lot more interesting now. Thank god that the thing with Reza hasn't dragged on as much as I thought it would.

Quote of the hour! Marie Warner: "This is our house! I want you out of our house! Now!"
  • Maneged to be good!!!

Kate family plot go somewhere now that Tony is there to make a interrogation. This of course, take much minutes as possible.

Kim continues in trouble, because she wants to save megan. Now tha call her boufriend, so she is not alone in this anymore.

Jack did nothing in this episode, the writers bought time for him, until he uses Mason condition against him, to allow him to make the interrogation on Nina.

Speaking of that, Nina is Back.

Palmer Adminstration plot got more serious since we now Know that something is going there, like a conspiracy.

Besides that, a good episode, with some filler to buy time.

Mm.. I think the main problem with this episode was that it was quite slow and some people had weird reactions.

I was eager to see the moment when Jack sees Nina again but it was nothing. No emotions. Weird, as I have always thought Jack is very quick to anger. Ok, maybe he did managed to keep himself together but first episode this season hinted that he did not.

I think the best part was George and Jack having the conversation. I do like that kind of deep emotional moments.

And Kim is back to annoying.. so.. things are quite as old time..

12:02 P.M.-12:04 P.M.: CTU is in shambles, Paula is still unconscious and Tony discovers Reza has had contact with terrorists. Tony runs off to speak with

him, as Jack phones in to report that it was Nina who provided Wald's team with the schematics of CTU. Mason calls Jack to inform him that his mission

is done, and he should now go somewhere safe. After hanging up the phone, Mason orders an interrogation room setup for Nina.

12:04 P.M.-12:07 P.M.: Palmer is still being briefed on possible bombing locations. Lynne tells him that the Ambassador of the country presumed to be responsible

for Second Wave is about to land. Gary finds Kimberly at the hospital, and tells her to leave now before the police arrive, because Carla will side with

him if questioned. Fearing jail, Kimberly runs off.

12:07 P.M.-12:09 P.M.: A new advisor, Roger Stanton, arrives to replace Rayburn. Roger tells the President that the Ambassador is only there to extract

information about the US intelligence. Division calls CTU to let them know Nina is en route.

12:09 P.M.-12:13 P.M.: Jack arrives at CTU to have his debrief, but Mason doesn't want him near him. Paula regains consciousness, and is able to give Mason

the location of the decryption key for the data she sent to NSA. Unfortunately, she dies before they can get her to the hospital.

12:17 P.M.-12:21 P.M.: Reza and Kate return home after picking up lunch. Her father asks her how she liked the new house. Kate still doesn't believe everything

is alright. Before they can go inside, Tony arrives to interrogate Reza, and Kate is sent to fetch him. Reza tells her not to let Marie find out about

    the interrogation.

12:21 P.M.-12:25 P.M.: The Ambassador informs the President that his government has already arrested four people. Palmer is assured that they want to do

everything they can to prevent the bomb from going off. The Ambassador requests an exchange of intel on Second Wave so that they can do more to find the

remaining terrorists. Lynne and Roger are strongly opposed.

12:25 P.M.-12:28 P.M.: Kimberly calls Jack to try to find out what's going on. He finally tells her about the bomb, interrupting her story about Gary and

Megan. She agrees to leave town. As Jack sits at a computer, Nina arrives at CTU in shackles.

12:32 P.M.-12:36 P.M.: Mason enters the newly secured interrogation room and begins to question Nina. She tells him that she won't say a thing unless she

is guaranteed a full presidential pardon. Mason leaves to phone Chappelle. Jack sees Mason coughing and asks him if Nina is helping out, but Mason just

cuts him out of the loop. Tony begins to interrogate Reza. When Reza plays dumb, Tony shows him Ali's name in his laptop.

12:36 P.M.-12:40 P.M.: Palmer has opened the files Second Wave sent to the Ambassador. As they watch the Ambassador's team go over the intel, Chappelle

calls the President to inform him of Nina's request for a pardon. After Jack completes his debrief, Palmer calls to let him know that he is preparing to

    offer Nina shadow asylum.

12:44 P.M.-12:50 P.M.: We finally meet the rumored boyfriend of Kimberly, Miguel. Kimberly tells him that Megan is in trouble, and asks that he meet her.

Miguel is not thrilled about having to leave his job, as his recording studio is full of people, but he agrees to go. Mason takes another pill for his

nausea, but forgets the container in the bathroom, which Jack finds. Even though he currently has no authority, Jack orders Michelle to reveal where Mason

has been all day. Marie finally discovers the agent in the dining room. Kate has no choice but to tell her about the investigator, which prompts a big

    fight.

12:54 P.M.-12:58 P.M.: Miguel arrives at the hospital. Kimberly tells him that Megan has been abused, and says that they need to get out of LA right away

because a bomb is about to go off. He agrees to help save Megan from the hospital before fleeing the city. Jack confronts Mason with the knowledge that

he will be dead by the end of the day due to the radiation poisoning. Jack then blackmails Mason by threatening to tell District of his impending death

if he doesn't get to interrogate Nina.

12:58 P.M.-1:00 P.M.: The Ambassador is on a chopper returning him to his private plane. Moments later, Fox News breaks video that the chopper has just

exploded outside of the complex. The interrogation of Reza continues, Kimberly and Miguel plot to save Megan, Palmer gulps as he watches the chopper crash,

and Jack stands by a monitor as he waits to enter the interrogation room with Nina. Tick, tick, tick...

Technically, some stuff happened, but not enough to place this episode higher. I'm not the biggest fan of the early afternoon hours of S2. They're not all that eventful and, save for a few scenes, are actually pretty forgettable. I do like that the writers create a little downtime like they did in S1, just to bring a realistic tone into the show, but that doesn't mean I have to like the episodes themselves.

Nina's brought into CTU, but she refuses to play ball until she gets a pardon from Palmer. Which she does get. This Jack no likey, but he blackmails Mason into letting him interrogate Nina, so at least he's (and we've) got that to look forward to. Unfortunately, we're getting that in the next episode.

Paula gives Mason some critical information before dying tragically, Palmer and new NSA liaison Roger Stanton meet with a foreign ambassador regarding the nuke, Tony goes to the Warner house to interrogate Reza about Syed Ali, and Marie becomes really angry at Kate about this. Kim does something too.

You know something's not right when Palmer's story is more riveting than Jack's. That's all I have to say.

    Hourly Highlight:

The ambassador's chopper getting shot down.
  • Nina! Terrorists! Oh my!

Here again is yet another well-done episode, especially with Nina being back. I still don't see why they had to pardon her, sounds like they should have handed her over to the NSA guys who did the interrogations in the first episode, but whatever. Its also comforting to finally have progress in the annoying sidestory of the marriage between the rich & uppity young sister and the suspected terrorist has been coming for awhile now, but thankfully its arrived. Hopefully it means a sooner ending to this sub-plot because frankly all the characters involved suck. Speaking of sucking, this episode more than any other this season makes me wish Kim was finally dead. Such an annoying sidestory/worthless character.

    "Great"
After dropping the huge Nina bomb on us in the lasy episode I was ready for Jack to pimpsmack Nina all over the smoldering CTU crime scene. That however, didnt happen and the episode just wanted us to wait a little longer before the infamous Jack - Nina reunion. We all know its coming and I think it was stupid to make us wait another week before the explosion between the two happened. The side stories were average with Raza being questioned by CTU and Kim now on the run with who I presume is her boyfriend. Next episode should be really good
  • great episode.

Nina Myers is brought back to CTU for interrogation. George Mason refuses to have Jack interview her, but Jack persists and George eventually allows him. Nina tells them some intel that might help them catch a terrorist cell that is planning to detonate a nuclear bomb in LA. Palmer meets an Arab ambassador who may have some influence with the terrorist group second wave. Stuff happens in this episode that drives the whole plot. It's a very exciting episode, the return of Nina Myers is perhaps the best part, since it creates some drama bringing her back in the show.
  • Nina, Nina, Nina. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

    "Great"
Just another great episode from the nuclear bomb arc. George Mason's decomposition before our eyes was very intriguing and really made a lot of this episode.

    Pros

-Again, I loved George Mason. How awesome would it have been if Chloe and Mason had worked together?

-I liked the pokey nipplage from Kim in the hospital.

-More great makeup and set stuff with the aftermath of the CTU explosion.

-Interesting to see Tony outside of CTU for a change and for the Warner plot finally being tied into the main one.

-Nina walking into CTU was absolutely amazing. The score was perfect and so was Jack's reaction. It was a nice touch to have them make eye contact.

-Mason and Nina's interaction was very interesting and there was a great split-screen there also.

-It was beautiful of Palmer to take the time to call Jack and tell him of his decision to pardon Nina.

-I loved Marie's reaction when she wasn't allowed to see Reza before she knew what was going on. Good acting by Laura Harris.

-Awesome twist with the chopper blowing up.

-Nina's evil stare at Jack on the monitor.

    Cons

-Oh God, Kim was such a moron yet again.

-The actor that played the ambassador was pretty crappy.

-I wasn't a huge fan of Kim getting to know about the nuke, but none of the other families of CTU personnel were able to know about it. Kind of an unfair thing for Jack to do.

-Oh my God, I hated Miguel in this episode and in all episodes.

-With the awesome twist with the chopper, it *really* pissed me off that we never found out what caused that. That's one of the few times 24 has done something that was simply unacceptable.
  • The Return of Nina Myers

    9.2
    "Superb"
I loved this episode for the simple fact that Nina Myers was back. When they showed her walking down the damaged CTU corridor it really had my heart going. Knowing that she had given the plans to Eddie's gang so that they could destroy CTU and her seeing what she had done was just great. Then Jack spotted her and there was what seemed like a one minute slow motion stare down between the two of them. It was crazy and I enjoyed every minute of it. I also thought it was clever how Jack acutally found out about George and his sickness and then blackmailed George into letting him interogate Nina. Great episode.
