4:02 P.M.-4:06 P.M.: Things are running amok inside the President's retreat. Palmer barges in on Sherry, demanding to know how Ron Wieland was let out of
custody. Mike shows him a video of Armus letting Ron out of his room. Jack's and Nina's plane is careening towards the ground at a rapid pace after being
hit by a surface-to-air missile. Jack wants to know the location of the bomb, but even with the plane going down, Nina refuses to answer. The man assigned
to protect Nina, Rick Phillips, draws his gun and threatens to kill her if she doesn't tell them where the bomb is. Jack gives Mason the coordinates of
the riverbed where the plane is supposed to land, while he, Phillips and Mason try unsuccessfully to get Nina to reveal the bomb's location. The pilot
announces that the plane is going down now and there is no way they can make it to the riverbed, but the phone cuts out before Jack can give Mason their
new coordinates.
4:06 P.M.-4:08 P.M.: The President apologizes to Sherry for jumping to conclusions about Ron, and lets her know who did let him out. She advises him to
tell the truth about the bomb issue. Mike informs them that the plane Jack was on has crashed.
4:08 P.M.-4:11 P.M: Jack tumbles out of the plane into a field of debris, and pulls a tree branch from his leg. He starts his search for survivors, and
finds Phillips, badly injured. Jack promises to get him help, and then finds Nina still chained to her seat. She isn't breathing. He gives her mouth to
mouth, and revives her.
4:16 P.M.-4:16 P.M.: Michelle shows Mason satellite photos of the missile that was fired at Jack's plane.
4:16 P.M.-4:19 P.M.: When Tony won't stop badgering him, Mason finally tells him that he has less than a day to live. Tony apologizes for being such a jerk.
Bob and Reza have been put into the same holding room. Mason barges in, and starts the investigation by yelling at Reza for claiming not to know Syed Ali.
He mentions the nuclear bomb, and gives them a Bill of Lading found at the warehouse that proves a container was sent to Ali. Bob looks at it, and sees
it's from his company. Mason promises immunity to the first one to come clean, and leaves them alone to let the offer sink in.
4:19 P.M.-4:21 P.M.: The arresting officer informs Miguel and Kimberly that he is taking them back to LA -- and not to CTU either. When the kids voice their
disapproval, the cop tells them that there is no elevated threat status. Kimberly promises Miguel that her father will fix things up. Miguel laughs that
promise off, claiming that she was right when she told him Jack was messed up. Kimberly says those comments were misplaced anger towards her father over
the death of her mother.
4:21 P.M.-4:23 P.M.: Reza asks Bob if he has anything to hide, and the two soon get into an argument. Via a voice-monitoring system, Mason and Tony both
see that Reza's voice levels are steady, while Bob's are all over the place. Reza scolds Bob for lying to him. To get even, he tells CTU that he can track
the shipping order and find out who authorized the transfer to Ali. Security guards have to restrain Bob, who can't control his rage over Reza's announcement.
4:28 P.M.-4:30 P.M.: Michelle asks Tony if Mason is sick, correctly surmising that he got radiation poisoning. Tony affirms that he is. She tells him that
she wants Mason to step down, but Tony says he will watch him -- which isn't what Michelle wanted to hear.
4:30 P.M.-4:31 P.M.: Sherry gives Lynne revision notes that she made for the President's speech about Ron. Lynne begins shouting at her for sticking her
nose in where it doesn't belong, and refuses to so much as look at them.
4:31 P.M.-4:33 P.M.: Jack and Nina begin to leave the crash site, only to be interrupted by a group of camouflaged soldiers. The soldiers' first act is
to execute Rick. One of the men spots Jack, but Jack fires a flare gun at him and steals his machine gun and ammunition. Jack and Nina then flee the scene.
He undoes her cuffs, and hands her the ammo so she can run recon for him.
4:33 P.M.-4:35 P.M.: Kate is awoken by her kidnapper, who reveals himself to be Syed Ali. He grabs her, and takes her to a soundproof room where Paul Koplin
is chained up naked. Ali's assistant stands next to Paul with an electric sander. After the pair plead that they didn't see anything, the assistant turns
on the sander and uses it on Paul. Paul screams.
4:40 P.M.-4:43 P.M.: Jack and Nina are under fire. She throws him another pack of ammo, and he takes down another of his pursuers. She hides the final ammo
pack in her pants. A CTU search and rescue chopper moves in, and takes out the remaining baddies. Jack forgetfully leaves his rifle on the ground, giving
Nina the opportunity to grab the weapon and hold him up. She demands to talk to the President, and orders the search and rescue guys to stand down.
4:43 P.M.-4:45 P.M.: Megan and Kimberly are finally reunited, albeit only for a few minutes, as Megan's aunt is at the station waiting to collect her. Megan
tells Kimberly that her aunt lives in Santa Barbara, which would place her 100 miles from LA -- and well out of the bomb's range. Megan and Kimberly both
cry, but only Megan's are tears of sadness.
4:45 P.M.-4:48 P.M.: Reza is about to be taken to his father's office when he asks to have a word with Marie first. Mason grants his wish. Marie tells Reza
that a lawyer is on his way over. He tells her not to worry and about anything, then informs her that Bob may be connected to Ali. An incredulous and disgusted
Marie walks away from Reza, upset that he turned on her father.
4:52 P.M.-4:57 P.M.: Nina finally gets in touch with Palmer's office, and Palmer asks Mike to screen the call. Nina tells the President that she will say
where the bomb is in exchange for immunity for a crime she has not yet committed -- the murder of Jack Bauer. Palmer places her on hold, so he can ask
CTU if Nina has any weaknesses they can exploit. Mason informs him that she has none, and she's hellbent on killing Jack, or else he'll kill her. Jack
then tells Palmer that Nina is their only link to finding the bomb, and he should give her what she wants. The President promises Nina will get her pardon,
but only after the bomb is uncovered. Nina then tells them where it is. Palmer asks Jack if there's anything he'd like for him to do. Jack wants him to
make sure Kimberly is safe. Palmer chokes back tears, even with Mike saying that he did the right thing.
4:57 P.M.-5:00 P.M.: Palmer is escorted to the Press Corps. As he exits the room, he acknowledges to Lynne the changes made in the speech, and tells her
that it is better. Ali's assistant continues to torture Paul. A hysterical Kate insists she knows nothing. Ali says he believes her, then pulls out a gun,
kills Paul, and orders his assistant to kill Kate. The President makes his way to the Press Corps, as Nina holds Jack at gunpoint.moreless
