Back in S1, I complimented the fifth episode, "4am - 5am," for creating great suspense without actually advancing the plot much. "Day Two: 6pm - 7pm" achieves something similar to that.
Well, aside from the Palmer subplot, which advances the plot at least mediumly. Roger Stanton is arrested and tortured for information on the nuke. Via defibrillators to the head. How shocking. Don't really know why the writers had to focus on Palmer bringing in and having a heart-to-heart with that Secret Service agent/torture specialist before starting the procedure, so that's kinda weird.
Next up, Marie's just been revealed as evil, so she's gotta do some other evil thing this hour, which she accomplishes by picking up the trigger for the nuke. And she gives head before doing so. Perked up pretty quickly just now, didn't you?
But as for Jack, he and Kate team up to look for Syed Ali at a mosque, and by hour's end…they're still looking for Syed Ali at a mosque. See, it's slow, but not too slow. And it's these kinds of developments that, say, the latter half of S4 desperately needed, but that's for another review.
So why the 6? Don't ask me; ask the cougar.
Hourly Highlight:
Uh, the defibrillators to Stanton's head, I guess.
