Back in S1, I complimented the fifth episode, "4am - 5am," for creating great suspense without actually advancing the plot much. "Day Two: 6pm - 7pm" achieves something similar to that.
Well, aside from the Palmer subplot, which advances the plot at least mediumly. Roger Stanton is arrested and tortured for information on the nuke. Via defibrillators to the head. How shocking. Don't really know why the writers had to focus on Palmer bringing in and having a heart-to-heart with that Secret Service agent/torture specialist before starting the procedure, so that's kinda weird.
Next up, Marie's just been revealed as evil, so she's gotta do some other evil thing this hour, which she accomplishes by picking up the trigger for the nuke. And she gives head before doing so. Perked up pretty quickly just now, didn't you?
But as for Jack, he and Kate team up to look for Syed Ali at a mosque, and by hour's end…they're still looking for Syed Ali at a mosque. See, it's slow, but not too slow. And it's these kinds of developments that, say, the latter half of S4 desperately needed, but that's for another review.
So why the 6? Don't ask me; ask the cougar.

    Hourly Highlight:
Uh, the defibrillators to Stanton's head, I guess.

  • A filler Episode!!!!!

It make all the sense that this episode is more weaker than the previous one with nothing really happening.

Syed Ali is a fine example and how they didn´t caught him yet.

Roger was arrested and of course, he doesn´t reveal anything yet.

Jack s now trusting Kate, even with what her sister has made. Kate too helped CTU to find Syed Ali.

We have another nice scene between Tony and Michelle.

Overral, my note for this episode ends to be fair.

  • Hunt for Syed Ali

So.. The hunt for Syed Ali continues and it looks like it won't be over after this episode too. We now have Kate with Jack and she already starts to play brave and goes into the Moshe in order to confirm that Ali is on there. And she does it.. Jack also learns what was going on with her sister so when she cannot find him, there is reasonable doubt. But I still think Jack trusts her too much. Did he not learn.. On other storylines.. I do not remember much of them.. so i think they did not worked well.
  • I think a very special episode

guarding him are dead. Tony calls Jack to give him the info. He warns Jack that Kate may be working with Marie. He insists that he believes Kate is not

working against him. Marie arrives at the workplace Ali told her to go to, to pick up the trigger. Marie, now sporting a different haircut, and brown colour.

Mosque. Inside they find a man on fire. They believe its Ali..... he's dead. Marie removes the item from the locker, having clearly given head to the foreman.
  • This episode revolves around finding Syed Ali.

    "Good"
The best parts of the episode are the scenes involving Jack and Kate. But even with them I'd say its a filler considering they stand around with binoculars for much too long, they don't even find Syed Ali either. The moment when they encounter the mans body on fire was quite a surprise though.

The sisters play dress up! Marie wears and brunette wig, and I must say she actually looks better. Kate wears a sari in order to get into the mosque to find Syed Ali. The scene in the mosque is probably the most intense part of the episode. I loved the moment when he turned his head towards her, it was great.

Whats with Kim and that cougar? Considering the cougar is only in this episode and just stands there and doesn't attack Kim to death I'd say its a big filler and time waster. I also heard that the cougar had bitten her hand while filming this scene, so I kind of feel bad for her there. Having her hand bitten for the sake of this scene was not worth it at all lol. Why couldn't they just let her not be in one episode?

The Palmer storyline was very good in this episode though with Stanton being arrested and tortured.

Quote of the hour! Kate Warner: "Your people took the liberty of arresting my father. Syed Ali took the liberty of kidnapping me and killing Paul Koplin right in front of me. I think I've earned the right to know what's going on."
  • This episode uncovers 3 backstabbing characters. Sherry Palmer, I was surprised but not really. Marie, who knew? Reza got played for that long? What a fool. As for Roger Stanton, we don't know for sure, but he's showing some old man toughness.

    "Superb"
This episode fooled me good. Man, I was starting to trust Sherry Palmer, she was looking beautiful and classy the whole season leading up to this. I can't believe that Lady would stoop so low. As for Stanton, I think he's lying, but not 100% sure. We'll see what happens, I can be wrong but not often. My theory is that he's just like a beaten down old man, who can take the pain. You can slap him around all you want, but in the end he's still standing. As for the cougar scene, that was going overboard for too much drama, I think I saw that scene in Harold & Kumar go to White Castle!

    "Great"
Kate helps Jack to locate and identify Syed Ali - In my mind I thought this was the only real highlight of the episode. I like Kate and Jacks on screen connection and I think the two actors really work off of one another. Palmer places Stanton under arrest, but he won't break. Palmer realizes he must go to extremes to make Stanton talk- I think this story will get interesting as time goes on, but for now I think that this episode was just setting this storyline up for something big a little later. CTU discovers that Marie has killed Reza and the two agents sent to accompany him- Learning that Marie was involved in all of it was a big step for CTU as now Jack has to break the news to Kate Warner, who is sure to not beleieve it and try and save her sister. Kim hits her low point of the day when she encounters a cougar in the woods- If it werent for Teria amnesia last year, I would say this was the worst sidestory ever. Honestly, this part was pretty bad.
  • Attack of the cougar! OMFG OH NOEZ!

    "Good"
Well well, a rather good episode, but I got to knock off major points for the cougar. RAWR. Watch out for bear traps, Kim. You might randomly land on one while running from being a murder suspect and a nuclear weapon's dentonation. The result is a encounter with a rather lethal but friendly little mountain cougar, Yeah, 10 miles outside of L.A. HAR HAR HAR. I enjoyed this episode, don't get me wrwong. But it would of been better if she was caught in the bear trap and they put the cougar in the deleeted scenes on the DVD or something. 24 fans would of praised that.

Kate Warner agrees to help CTU identify Syed Ali. She bravely goes undercover. Palmer orders Stanton to be arrested, he resorts to extreme measures to get answers out of him. While Kim walks through the forest, she's almost attacked by a cougar, a loner comes to her aid. this is another great episode, the writers did a good one with this. The action looks really great, the scenes are well written and well directed. i really had a good time with this episode. the pacing are done really well, even the slower scenes look so exciting to watch, this is an awesome episode.
  • Alright episode with nothing too major, but nothing that crappy.

    "Great"
Pretty much a filler episode. There wasn't that much that occurred in this episode. However, most of the stuff that DID happen was very nice, except for, well...you know...Kim.

    Pros

-Awesome scene when Stanton gets arrested. Good music there as well.

-Fascinating scene with Kate in the mosque. Funny when she saw Syed looking at her and dropped her safety device.

-It was fantastic that they had Palmer himself interrogate Stanton. I loved that Stanton waited as long as he did to lie to Palmer.

-I liked Agent Simmons. Good scene between him and Palmer.

-Marie Warner was looking extremely fine in her scene where she extracts the key from the foreman.

-Very cool ending with "Syed Ali" being burnt to a crisp. I didn't see that coming and I didn't see it coming that it was a fake.

    Cons

-Oh God. Kim in this episode. I...I...wow. What were you thinking 24 writers?

    -Very slow beginning.

-Some lame Tony and Michelle relationship stuff.
