This episode is more satisfying than the previous one.

They finally found the Bomb. but before that, we had some good Scenes.

MArie with Kate scenes were tense, which gave the idea that Kate would die, but Jack did the save.

The Way that interrogations scenes were made was good, with Marie constantly screaming and crying like a baby.

Palmer vs Sherry was good, because Sherry can be very convincing.

Kim Strange Guy Plot finally is over and now she can move to another trouble as usual.

Mason departure is made in a perfect way timing and now we have a new director in CTU. This Mason death sentence plot made some very emotional Scenes, who wrote this, gave one of the best ideas for this season.
  • Sad emotions and excitement

This is a episode what on some parts nails and one some parts looks little off.

All things with George and Tony on CTU where amazing. The way George took his resigning and going away and what he said - that he wanted off but not anymore. And the speech Tony gave. Really beautiful.

Also the whole thing with Kate and Marie was great as it really put me think - what is needed to make a girl to think the way Marie does - to let everyone die. It is a good question and I am not sure I know the answer.

What I did not like - the whole Palmer's thing has been very annoying on that day.. and Kim.. I better not start.. But the pros overweight cons..

That moment between Kate and Marie was really tense and I expected Marie to kill Kate, I really did. But Jack comes to the rescue, shoots Marie and her wig falls off. When Marie was a brunette she was so much more of a badass but now shes gone back to blonde shes screaming and crying like a baby. We have to put up for this for the rest of the episode but I still love the scenes when Jack interrogates her.

Palmer confronts Sherry, and guess what, she makes up more excuses. Although she is quite convincing I don't believe it, and neither does Palmer so he gets rid of her. It was a funny moment when Sherry says that she didn't sleep with Stanton and Palmers says 'I didn't ask!' But overall, the goodbye between Palmer and Sherry was extremely weak compared to their goodbye in the season 1 finale.

George Mason's departure from CTU couldn't have been anymore perfect. Aww, what he and Tony said to each other made me have such a frog in my throat!! But the most emotional moment is when he heads towards the door, that walk... that walk seemed to go on forever... and my god, it was so sad with that music in the background. So damn sad, it hit me hard.

Oh, and I love the idea of Tony being the head of CTU.

Quote of the hour! Kate Warner: "I don't believe you'd shoot me." Marie Warner: " I will because this is more important than your life. Or my life."

Way to bring the whole decoy element into the mix in order to stretch things out for another hour, dudes. But it works out, since Jack gets to try and squeeze the nuke's location out of Marie Warner (along with some blood out of the gunshot wound on her arm), which is VERY enjoyable to watch.

This episode also brings in the character of Carrie Turner. Ugh, I ******* hate that *****. Since she never becomes a full-fledged villain, unlike a certain somebody in S5, I don't know what to do except despise the hell out of her.

There's some weird drama between Palmer and Sherry, now that he knows she's a part of the conspiracy, and she's begging him for a chance to prove her innocence. That's a yawn.

As with many other episodes, Jack's role is what makes this one so good. And in the end, the stage is set for the final episode of the nuclear bomb arc, since he finally finds the damn thing, the REAL one this time, albeit in a somewhat anticlimactic way.

I'd say this hour is the worst of the Norton Airfield trilogy. But it's still an 8, so what does that tell you?

    Hourly Highlight:

You gotta love it when Jack interrogates a woman. After shooting her.

Jack and Kate try to break Marie's resolve so they can learn the location of the bomb. Palmer confronts his ex wife with the information that Stanton gave them. George finally steps down as director of CTU and hands the position over to Tony. Kim discovers her host's deception. The on screen connection with Jack, Marie, and Kate was very well done. I like the scenes that had all of them in it as Jack tried to make her tell him where the bomb is before it is set to go off. Again it seemed like a filler episode, but the ending was on of the best this season. Tony taking over CTU is huge and I hope that he stays in that position for a little bit of time, I think he would make a really good director. George walking out of CTU for the last time was a really great scene and I thought that the writers followed it up really well with the silent clock idea. Now that Marie has been caught and the bomb fount, it should make for a very interesting next episode...

Jack Bauer interrogates Marie and he forces her to reveal the location of the bomb. Kate speaks to her and tries to soften her up, but she's as evil as ever and she continues stalling them. David Palmer is now aware of Sherry's extra curricular activities. He forces some information out of her. George Mason steps down as director of CTU and installs Tony Almeida as the new CTU director. It's a very sad departure for George, it's a very emotional moment as he leaves the building for the last time. This episode have some surprises in it, the action was awesome.
  • Just when you thought the show couldn't possibly get any tenser, it does and it does in a huge way.

Another great episode. The highlight was Mason leaving CTU for the last time. Such a sad moment in a very tense episode.

    Pros

-You could just feel that something ominous was coming up soon in this episode. There was an overwhelming sense of tension during parts.

-Kicking Mason's death march into overdrive went very well. Great acting and great makeup on Mason.

-Palmer tricking Sherry into practically admitting that she was involved with Stanton was brilliant on his part. I loved classic Sherry coming out where she said that she did everything she did in order to protect Palmer.

-The beginning of the biggest bitch in CTU history, Carrie. There's very few people on this show that I've hated more than her. Good character though, she knew how to push your buttons.

-I loved it when Marie smacked the bejeesus out of Kate.

-More amazing acting by Laura Harris. I'm amazed she didn't get more notoriety from her work on 24.

-An *amazingly* emotional scene where Mason turned over the reins of CTU to Tony and then walked out to a silent clock. So so sad.

-Very awesome that Jack caught Marie lying about the whereabouts of the nuke.

-Hilarious bit where Sherry claims she never slept with Stanton and Palmer said "I didn't ask."

-Awesome ending with the nuke being armed.

    Cons

-Some sappy Palmer dialogue. I hate when the writers make the dialogue come off as poetic. Same with the Marie Warner dialogue.

-Damn that Lonnie storyline! Damn it to Heck! I don't know what to add from what I've said about it already in previous reviews. It sucked, plain and simple.

-Stupid stupid stupid Kate. She gave Kim a run for her idiot money in this episode.
  • Jack & Kate are at a dead end locating the bomb until a source cracks under pressure, Kim is held at a shelter, Palmers had enough of his ex-wife for now and its the beginning of the end for George Mason.

    "Good"
When looking back over what makes 24 a classic of its and any genre, the best events are often not in one hour, but are spread over a few episodes. So in this case, I thought I'd start right here. Masons' departure from CTU is handled really well - you do get a little tear in the corner of the eye.Even watching the episode first time, you guessed the slow walk out was momentous and a nasty portent (even without the lack of clock tones- a rare event back then.)

Its a cumulative effect - blackouts, loss of memory and hair falling out all lead to the transfer of power.Go Tony!

On the down side, theres a few horrible lack of plot lines to remove. We have part 15 of the Sherry excuses file - and this ones particularly gruesome , people. Pass the sickbag. Putting the protect phrase in always makes me want to stick my fingers down my throat. And I'm not going to even touch the latest Kim non-drama - oh, lets try to fit her into the story somehow because we've got nothing better to do with her. YUKK.

Oh, and Kate deserves a medal to spot her sister in a dark wig from that distance - at night. However, once Marie's under torture, the plot perks up and theres some genuine tension about. Dont enjoy it too much, Jack - you'll be on the other side in four hours...

Overall, a clearing of the story ready for the class to come.
