  • Setups!!!!

Logic/Details - » The objective here is to buy time and make in the way some interesting scenes, to allow the trade to be made only in the next episode. This make this episode a little boring in some parts. You have Kim discovering that Jack is working with Nina, You have Chase in the same scenario most of the time etc

Progress -» Sherry is back to help Palmer. Jack and Ramon continue to work with Nina and Hector dies.

Emotions/Stimulation/Highlights -» Palmer and Sherry conversation was one of the highlights of this episode. How Jack free himself was cool. Ending - » Nothing Special.

Overall - » 6 is a fair score for an episode that tries to buy as much time as possible. Of course there are some interesting scenes, but they are not in a good level.moreless
  • Slow but the ending saved much

So.. we have quite slow episode and I am not sure when we had last one. This season has been great so far.

Most of the things happen in Mexico. Jack and Nina are having their own clashes and then the brothers have disagreements but they do not promise nothing until in the end, it all goes the way predicted. Hector gets shots.

Some backdrop drama in CTU. Kim realizing that Nina is involved was good but Chloe and her baby - just waste of time.

And Palmer. Sherry is back and that was nice. And she is on her element again. And it looks like it is going to ugly. Let's see...moreless
  • A VERY slow episode.

This episode is a set-up for the next episode, which is the finale of the Mexico storyline. It was alright, I guess, but nothing happened!! The situtation with Jack, Roman and Nina really dragged on in this episode with them being in that room for the whole hour. Some of the things that happened in there were good though, like when Nina clocked Jack's reaction to Claudia's death. That was brilliant.

It was quite funny how the scene with Jack and Nina kissing popped up the second after Kim said her father would never 'pretend' to work with that woman. But the timing was way off... why were Jack and Nina at it for eight minutes?

It wasn't a surprise that Hector got shot by Roman. I had a feeling it would happen as they are obviously both greedy men who were desperate for money so it wouldn't have been unlikely for one of them to kill the other in order to get it all. But I thought it would be the other way round with Hector shooting Roman. This is because Hector was loyal to Jack from the beginning, and Roman was always curious, so it was weird that they suddenly swapped roles. It just would have been more interesting if Hector killed Roman and then found out from Nina that Jack slept with Claudia and then turned on him.

The storyline continues with the baby at CTU. I sure hope it's part of something bigger, because there is no point in including it otherwise. I must say, I loved Chappelle's reaction to the baby. I liked the conversation between Palmer and Sherry too.

  • The eleventh hour

What to talk about, what to talk about… Jack and Ramon finally get Nina's cooperation, but Hector shows some reluctance on this virus thing throughout the episode, with Chase escaping and all. The power clash of the Salazar brothers culminates in a shocking manner. Plus, Jack finds a way to contact CTU and surreptitiously fill them in on what's happening.

Things get heavily interesting for Chase as, despite CTU's order for his evacuation, he decides to help the Delta teams intercept and take the virus.

And speaking of the Cordilla virus, we finally get a good look at it when it's delivered to Amador: a snot-like, green liquid mucking around inside a metallic vial. I'd say it looks threatening. Really.

But the writers must have been extremely desperate to juice up the Palmer subplot, because they've brought Sherry back to help battle Milliken. Her presence in S2 after her farewell in S1 felt a little lame, and her presence in S3 after her farewell in S2 is just cheap.

This hour serves to get us all ready for the conclusion of the Salazar story arc. You might not have enjoyed it all that much, so you'll probably love how it goes out.

  • Review

Im sure we were all expecting the virus trade to go down in this episode, so this episode was used primary as a filler based episode to further enhance the situation with David and Sherry Palmer as well as eliminate Hector Salazar. Lets start with the Palmer situation, which I thought was improved a lot from some of his other stroylines. Penny has a great presence on the screen and brings a certain intensity to the television show that only Jack Bauer has really shown me that he can bring. We still dont know what dirt she really is digging up on Alan, but Im sure we will learn what is going on in the future upcoming episodes. CTU didnt really have anything new to do, except for Ryan getting mad at Chloe again for having the baby in the builidng. It seemed more comical then anything when Ryan suggested that Kim watch the baby, giving Chloe enough time to do her work. Jack and Ninas connection in this episode was great, with JAck getting the better of Nina after a record long eight minute kiss between the two of them. I thought it was a good episode overall, with a lot of hype surrounding next weeks episode.moreless

    • Michelle: We're gonna have to use digitally enhanced audio coverage...Chloe is the best we have at that.
Chappelle: So you're telling me we have to let this woman raise her child in our office, because we don't have anyone who can do her job?!
Michelle: What I'm telling you is maybe we should deal with Chloe's child care problems on another day.
Chloe: I have work to do, who's going to look after my child?
      Chappelle: Give her to Kim.
      Kim: What?!

    • Wayne: What are you doing in here?
Sherry: Oh, I'm just waiting for them to prepare an office for me.
Wayne: It's good to see you, Sherry, but to be blunt, I don't think your being here is such a good idea.
Sherry: Of course you don't sweetie, that's becasue this whole thing is about your indiscretion with Julia.
      Wayne: Oh, Sherry...
Sherry: I say that with no judgment.
Wayne: Of course you do! Since you're the last person on Earth who's in a position to pass judgment.
Sherry: Okay, Wayne, let's not play this, we're both too good at it.

    • Kim: (about Nina) My father couldn't even pretend to work with her.
(cuts to Jack and Nina making out)

    • Milliken: Don't screw with me, David.
Palmer: Hey, I didn't pick this fight.
Milliken: You think you can enlist your psychopathic ex-wife to manufacture your lies in order to bring me down?

    • Jack: I'll honor your original deal. You'll get your $20 million and you get to keep breathing.
Nina: Until my client doesn't get what he paid for.
Jack: Right now, your client should be the least of your worries.

    • Palmer: Can you be a shark again Sherry?

  • NOTES (1)

    • A 15-minute webcast called 24Inside aired after this episode, featuring a live interview with Penny Johnson Jerald. Fans seemed enthusiastic, but later complained because of its shortness and lack of fan questions. It went on hiatus and returned near the end of the season with a new format.
