Logic/Details - » The objective here is to buy time and make in the way some interesting scenes, to allow the trade to be made only in the next episode. This make this episode a little boring in some parts. You have Kim discovering that Jack is working with Nina, You have Chase in the same scenario most of the time etc

Progress -» Sherry is back to help Palmer. Jack and Ramon continue to work with Nina and Hector dies.

Emotions/Stimulation/Highlights -» Palmer and Sherry conversation was one of the highlights of this episode. How Jack free himself was cool. Ending - » Nothing Special.

Overall - » 6 is a fair score for an episode that tries to buy as much time as possible. Of course there are some interesting scenes, but they are not in a good level.
  • Slow but the ending saved much

So.. we have quite slow episode and I am not sure when we had last one. This season has been great so far.

Most of the things happen in Mexico. Jack and Nina are having their own clashes and then the brothers have disagreements but they do not promise nothing until in the end, it all goes the way predicted. Hector gets shots.

Some backdrop drama in CTU. Kim realizing that Nina is involved was good but Chloe and her baby - just waste of time.

And Palmer. Sherry is back and that was nice. And she is on her element again. And it looks like it is going to ugly. Let's see...
  • A VERY slow episode.

This episode is a set-up for the next episode, which is the finale of the Mexico storyline. It was alright, I guess, but nothing happened!! The situtation with Jack, Roman and Nina really dragged on in this episode with them being in that room for the whole hour. Some of the things that happened in there were good though, like when Nina clocked Jack's reaction to Claudia's death. That was brilliant.

It was quite funny how the scene with Jack and Nina kissing popped up the second after Kim said her father would never 'pretend' to work with that woman. But the timing was way off... why were Jack and Nina at it for eight minutes?

It wasn't a surprise that Hector got shot by Roman. I had a feeling it would happen as they are obviously both greedy men who were desperate for money so it wouldn't have been unlikely for one of them to kill the other in order to get it all. But I thought it would be the other way round with Hector shooting Roman. This is because Hector was loyal to Jack from the beginning, and Roman was always curious, so it was weird that they suddenly swapped roles. It just would have been more interesting if Hector killed Roman and then found out from Nina that Jack slept with Claudia and then turned on him.

The storyline continues with the baby at CTU. I sure hope it's part of something bigger, because there is no point in including it otherwise. I must say, I loved Chappelle's reaction to the baby. I liked the conversation between Palmer and Sherry too.

Quote of the hour! Alan Miliken: "You think you can enlist your psychopathic ex-wife to manufacture your lies in order to bring me down?"

What to talk about, what to talk about… Jack and Ramon finally get Nina's cooperation, but Hector shows some reluctance on this virus thing throughout the episode, with Chase escaping and all. The power clash of the Salazar brothers culminates in a shocking manner. Plus, Jack finds a way to contact CTU and surreptitiously fill them in on what's happening.

Things get heavily interesting for Chase as, despite CTU's order for his evacuation, he decides to help the Delta teams intercept and take the virus.

And speaking of the Cordilla virus, we finally get a good look at it when it's delivered to Amador: a snot-like, green liquid mucking around inside a metallic vial. I'd say it looks threatening. Really.

But the writers must have been extremely desperate to juice up the Palmer subplot, because they've brought Sherry back to help battle Milliken. Her presence in S2 after her farewell in S1 felt a little lame, and her presence in S3 after her farewell in S2 is just cheap.

This hour serves to get us all ready for the conclusion of the Salazar story arc. You might not have enjoyed it all that much, so you'll probably love how it goes out.

    BABY AT CTU! NAAARRRGGGH!!

    Hourly Highlight:

    Jack headbutts Nina.

Im sure we were all expecting the virus trade to go down in this episode, so this episode was used primary as a filler based episode to further enhance the situation with David and Sherry Palmer as well as eliminate Hector Salazar. Lets start with the Palmer situation, which I thought was improved a lot from some of his other stroylines. Penny has a great presence on the screen and brings a certain intensity to the television show that only Jack Bauer has really shown me that he can bring. We still dont know what dirt she really is digging up on Alan, but Im sure we will learn what is going on in the future upcoming episodes. CTU didnt really have anything new to do, except for Ryan getting mad at Chloe again for having the baby in the builidng. It seemed more comical then anything when Ryan suggested that Kim watch the baby, giving Chloe enough time to do her work. Jack and Ninas connection in this episode was great, with JAck getting the better of Nina after a record long eight minute kiss between the two of them. I thought it was a good episode overall, with a lot of hype surrounding next weeks episode.

Jack gets Nina to acquire the virus from Amador. Palmer works with Sherry, she helps out in dealing with Milliken. Chase assist Jack in getting the virus. This part of the show is really interesting, the writers are able to weave the storyline of the Mexican backdrop so well. It looks very integral to the show's premise and adds to the excitement that's been brewing each week. The action scenes are so well directed, and the acting are really good that the threat that comes to Jack Bauer looks realistic. When things slow down a bit, the excitement never stops.
  • A setup episode where nothing happens, but Sherry comes back equals an alright episode.

This episode had a lot of great character development moments. There weren't any scenes that were atrocious like the previous Mexico episodes and this episode was full of Sherry and comedy. Despite that, it still only gets a 6 for being a VERY slow episode, where Jack hardly gets any screen time at all, because the show insisted on showing us the baby.

    Pros

-Kim seeing Nina's license. Whoops, nice one Adam!

-The Sarah Berkley thing was cute.

-Jack easily breaking free from Nina was funny and wonderful.

-The Palmers reuniting was pretty good. I liked the Dr. Anne reference and I liked how Palmer helped Sherry with her jacket.

-Jack's subtle reference to hearing about Claudia's death was excellent as was Nina's reaction to his reaction.

-Now the Sherry/Wayne meetup wasn't just pretty good, it was AMAZING. They both fed off of each other so well and the scene was pure gold. Easily one of the best Palmer storylines of the year and it sadly didn't even involve Palmer himself.

-Kim being stuck with the baby was funny. It was manufactured humor though and that, I don't know, just didn't make it feel as right. Still funny though.

-Jack and Ramon working together was also nice. The odd couple I guess.

-Good to see some Agent Pierce.

-The reaction of Tony and Chappelle to the crying baby was some of the funniest stuff ever on this show as was Chloe's reaction to Chappelle.

-"THE DEEEEAL IS OFFFF!" + Hector's mouth. Talk about unintentional hilarity.

    Cons

-Slow beginning with tons of unnecessary exposition.

-What the hell was with that 7-minute long kiss? This is still 24 right?

-Some of the dialogue between the Palmers sounded pretty fake.

-Chase being let back to do surveillance after being tortured and losing function in one of his hands was LAUGHABLE.

    -"THE DEEEEAL IS OFFFF!"

-Come on, who didn't see Hector getting shot from a mile away?

It was an average episode that set up the following great episode pretty well.
  • The writers did a great job of setting up hour 12 in this episode without making it one of those boring set-up episodes. When I say boring set-up episodes I\'m mostly saying I\'m glad they didn\'t make it into another \"Day 3: 6:00P.M. - 7:00P.M.\".

    24: Day 3: 11:00 P.M.-12:00 A.M.

    Music, Visuals, and Split Screens!

This episode did a surprisingly good job in the split screen department. Most of the recent episodes only use close-ups. The recent episode \"Day 3: 9:00P.M. – 10:00P.M.\" did not use any split screens in the opening sequence at all. I was glad the split screen was resurrected in this episode.

Sherry is back for this episode. The scene where Wayne talks to Sherry is one of the best scenes of the episode because it brings comedy into the show without making any soap opera plotlines like the baby at CTU. I\'m interested to find out what happened at Chipran Falls. Sherry reminds of the fish in the episode of Fox\'s King of the Hill where the bass go crazy over the \"bait\" Hank uses. Sherry just can\'t go away! She\'s addicted to David. She\'s Coco for Crack! (See Family Guy episode \"Love Thy Trophy)

The plotline with Kim and the baby is worse than the \"Danny\" plotline from Season 2. Although, this part of the episode really does give us comedy but, I don\'t want comedy when I\'m watching 24. I\'m looking for suspense, drama, and action. If I wanted comedy I\'d watch That 70s Show or the O.C.

One of the best parts of this episode is Jack\'s chair move. It wasn\'t anything special but it had the surprise factor.

The music heard in this episode was fantastic especially the entire scene where Hector finds Claudia (also known as fish lips) dead. I remember one of the parts of the music in that scene is heard in Season 1. It was probably from \"5:00A.M. – 6:00A.M.\" or \"6:00A.M. – 7:00A.M.\". It was somewhere in that timeframe where I remembered that music. Sean Callery does great work on this show.

I was surprised Nina barely talked in this episode. Her facial expressions really added to the episode though.

The visuals in this episode were great as well. The best visual was obviously when Michael Amador used a flashlight to see what the virus really looked like. They couldn\'t really show something like that last season because a nuclear bomb is not an really exciting visual. You slap a few wires to a big box lying on the ground and you have a bomb!

One of the most suspenseful parts of this episode was Jack\'s Phone trick. You have that worry that one of the Salazar brothers may find the phone under his jacket and even more tension was added when Ramon asked for the phone.

I\'m probably the only person who didn\'t see this coming. Maybe it was because I was more focused on Palmer\'s Storyline during this episode. I was surprised as hell to see Hector shot. Now, Ramon has to trust Jack because he has no one else to be his \"Number 2\". That\'s an interesting angle the writers through in.

    Weekly Continuity Error:

The opening sequence where Chase gets picked up by the helicopter is the same scene used in last week\'s final split screen.
