The slowness even seeps into the second episode of S3, and I am just bored here. Jack and Chase head to a drug den after they pick up on a lead, but is it great "24"? I don't think so.
Over at the prison, Ramon gets his screentime when District Attorney Luis Annicon grills him about the pen murder. Instead of giving a formal answer, Ramon decides to threaten Annicon's family, and ends up getting choked. Kind of a funny scene.
Palmer and his clique are so dull.
Jack finds out that Chase and Kim are dating. You know, Kim's subplot in S2 was garbage, and some of the odor of that garbage is clearly wafting unwantedly into S3 here. In other words, this storyline sucks. There's a virus threat going on, and Kim and Michelle have some "relationship talk." What kind of crap is this?
But there is one startling development here: it is revealed that one of Hector's henchmen is actually a mole working for CTU. Now that was a good one.
Despite a nice chase scene, this episode has a real "been there, done that" feel to it. The writers are clearly struggling, but faith should not be lost. S3 pays off eventually. Hang tough.

    Hourly Highlight:
    "Shut up, stupid!"

  • More Details and a Final Scene!!!!!

We have some proguess but things continue to be slower.

So slow motion, that Kim managed to be in various scenes. This episode continue to build details to be able to bring great pay off and everyone can notice this.

There are the same plot as we already saw. Biological Threat substitute the Nuclear Threat, Palmer adminstration plot continues, but are more weaker this time, and of course, we have a new mole, that is unexpected, but is incredible how CTU can have some many moles.

  • Setting up the motion

So.. we have the idea from last episode what is going to happen and now all little leads lead to that direction on slow motion. We learn why Jack is having his problems and there seems to be interesting story behind that. Is that what affected his relationship with Kate? Kim and Jack's partner's storyline seems to be interesting too. All those personal loses Jack has to take for his work and now Kim... all he said was so right.

And if we think CTU is safe place, we are wrong. We learn at the end that the man behind the curtain works in CTU. they will get hurt..

Plamer storyline is not exciting but there seems to be much coming.

This season is pretty blah so far, and has a lot of things that have been done already. e.g. biological threat to L.A instead of nuclear; moles here and there; people plotting behind Palmer's back.

I didn't see it coming that Hector's friend was working in CTU!! But it is a little weird that he could get away with this without someone noticing. And how did he get a secret room? I'm quite intrigued to see what is in that book about Palmer's girlfriend though. Could she be another Sherry?

I agreed with Jack's opinion on the Kim and Chase relationship, but I didn't agree with how he binned Chase because of him going out with her. Overall, this episode had far too much Kim in it for my liking. I really hope she doesn't get kidnapped again...

Quote of the hour! Wayne Palmer: David, I'm not talking about pulling a Sherry and stealing it.
  • Another great episode of the long lasting Jack Bauer story

In this second episode... the story continiues... now one hour later... We can see all good and bad things that happened to Jack and that are related to the virus. The president gets to know that his girlfriend Anne may be against him... He gets to read that part, after his brother finaly turns him to.

Kyle is still trying to get the drugs and get cash, but Jack finds out about him and chases him...

Also Kim tells Jack that she's going out with Chase for several months and that their relationship is getting serious.

A great episode with all new things happening

I felt like the first 30 minutes of this episode seemed to drag on forever with nothing happening whatsoever. Jack being at CTU is terrible for the show and I was glad when he picked up his stuff and him and Chase went to follow up a led. Jack doesnt belong behind a desk, he needs to be out in the field working. The action scenes with Chase and Jack hunting down the led was the best part of the episode. I think the two work well together, but I also think that Jack bauer works best without anyone...it makes him come off as more of a hero when he is able to break the rules. The last part of this episode really saved it - leaving us with the CTU mole in Gale who is working with Hector and having David being in a relationship that could be deadly to his chances of winning the debate against Keeler.
  • great episode

Kim finally tells Jack about her relationship with Chase. Chase gets a serious man to man talk with Jack about Kim. Linda dumps Kyle after she learns that he is involved with drugs. Wayne Palmer raise an issue to David Palmer about his relationship with his girlfriend that could hurt his chances for a second term in office. Someone inside CTU passes information to a drug cartel in Mexico. Now Kim works inside CTU, she is a much stronger character in this season. Stuff happens in this episode that's totally cool, I had a good time with this episode, 24 rules.
  • Getting interesting....

I was deployed to the Middle East so now that I am home I catching up on Season 3 via Netflix.

It is too early in the day for them to catch the kid before the cocaine gets out and infects everyone. That is obvious. Should be interesting.

I also think they are setting us up for for some "oh no!" moment between Kim and Chase.

I hope they are not setting us up for President Palmer to lose his reelection but I am afraid that is what will happen. Dennis Hayberth play a wonderful Commander in Chief.

I wonder if/when Sherry will pop up......

  • The third season continued to suffer with this slow, awkwardly paced episode.

Again, this episode didn\'t really feel like 24. Too touchy-feely in some parts and had even more Kyle Singer than the premiere. However, it had great moments with Jack and Chase in the crackhouse and the reveal with Gael at the end.

    Pros

-Jack\'s reaction to finding out that Kim and Chase were dating gives this episode an instant 5 points on my review score. So fantastically cold!

-Jack pumping the shotgun was great at building tension as was Callery\'s great score yet again.

-I liked the little scene between Keeler and Palmer. Oh, if only politicians would so things like that in real life.

-Wayne talking about \"pulling a Sherry.\" Great line.

-Claudia slapping Hector was pretty cool.

    -Chloe. Simply great.

-Serviceable action scene with Jack and Chase. Good teamwork between the two of them and a great line with \"Shut up, stupid.\" Although it still wasn\'t as great as what we\'re accustomed to on 24.

-AWESOME reveal with Gael at the end. I honestly didn\'t see that coming at all.

    Cons

-Kim\'s weird insistence that Jack be told of her relationship with Chase during an active terrorism investigation.

-Other than the action scene, a very very slow episode.

-I could excuse one episode of Palmer\'s storyline being stupid and slow, but two started a trend that overtook much of the season.

    -More stupid Salazar stuff.

-Too bad they took out the Kyle/Linda sex scene. Any chance they have for Agnes Bruckner to show some skin, they should take.

-Oh God, the Kyle Singer stuff was stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. It was the epitome of what was wrong with early Season 3. Instead of being concerned about the Cordilla virus, the writers wanted us to be concerned about Kyle Singer and the rent for his family\'s apartment.

-Some weird acting by Wendy Crewson as Dr. Anne.

This definitely wasn\'t the greatest episode in the world. Another episode that had weird pacing. We had the first half of the episode focused on Jack finding out about Chase and Kim and then the second half was all over the place with Dr. Anne, Kyle Singer crap, and the great ending.
  • Even in its supposedly weak season, 24 continues to impress.

    9.3
    "Superb"
Season 3 is supposed to be the red-headed step child of the 24 season. It's supposedly the worst season of them all, "lame" as a friend put it. I might have agreed with him after the first episode, but after the awesome 2nd episode I'm going to have to disagree for now.

In this episode Jack continues to battle his heroin addiction, and we find out Chase knows about it. Meanwhile for the actual terrorist case, CTU has figured out where the infected man was seen last. Jack and Chase follow up on it. This leads to an awesome action scene, which kind of showed off how 24 has even better action scenes than before.

The president subplot also remained intriguing. The best part about the subplot though ends up being the end. Apparently something is up with Palmer's girlfriend that his foes know about and plan on bringing up. You never find out what it is though, so that really should have any fans eagerly anticipating the next episode.

The other thing that will have fans eagerly waiting for the next episode is the cliffhanger at the end. You find out that the man who has been contacting Hector is actually inside of CTU. While it certainly is shocking, it also seems a big unrealistic which took away something from this little twist, but it will still be interesting to look into.

24 has done it again. If the rest of the season is like this, there is no way it can be considered a bad season.
