This is the third episode of 24. I can say that this is one of the most interesting episodes in the history of 24. Jack Bauer is on a mission to find Kyle Singer... Meanwhile, Chase is mad at Jack because he thinks he doesn't send him to missions because he's mad. One of Jack's partners on the mission of caputring Salazar is now dead. It seams like Ramon and all his familiy are realy bad guys. Jack enters the house of Kyle when he finds his parents worried about him. Then it turns out that the drug was not realy real. Jack starts to think that the virus is in Kyle and they try to locate him... Then, when they finaly find him Tony is hurt by a Salazar insider working in CTU... They are all somehow connected...
  • More proguess.

The first pay off is more weaker than I have antecipated, however, still better than the previous episodes.

It is all about Kyle and we have a nice twist, we Jack been crucial to discover the terrorist plan.

More than that is hard to say, there is no way that this episode can be great. Palmer plot continues to be boring.

    Nothing important in CTU.

Overral a good episode, with some proguess, but not more than that.

  • Chase for a virus

    9.1
    "Superb"
This episode was really action packed and something was happening all the time. First the thing that looked like the virus is out after Kyle had fight with his parents. Then we learned that it was not the virus and Kyle has it - what a turn. They really had the excitement up and then all the things going on in the mall and then shooting Tony. That was something I was not expecting.

And I cannot say things in CTU were less exciting. Chase is taking hard his new position and I imagine what will happen when Michelle hears about Tony..

    very exciting episode..

While it still doesn't feel like anything new, this episode raises the stakes and the suspense by having it turn out that Kyle Singer himself is infected with the Cordilla virus (yeah, you go ahead and believe that) and leading the drama all the way to a public mall.

CTU lets go of the whole "cocaine" business and gets to work on locating Kyle in the city, eventually pinning him at the aforementioned mall. Unfortunately for them, one of Hector's henchmen is also following Kyle, so it's a race to see who gets to him first. The outcome of that race? Ooh, boy…

And something pops up in the Palmer subplot regarding Anne Packard…oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that nobody gives a crap.

Meanwhile, Ramon is still sitting in prison, and since the Bigbad has gotta have at least one evil scene per episode, the writers have resorted to him blackmailing his guard to murder Annicon. If that makes no sense to you whatsoever, good. Annicon was kind of a useless character anyway.

That's about all I have to talk about, but I do have one last question: why are everyone's lips so friggin' blue in the mall? That's creepy-looking!

    Hourly Highlight:

Tony's been shot. IN THE NECK!
  • The best episode so far. Great stuff xD

Overall, I was surprised with how interesting this episode actually was!! The scenes involving Kyle Singer were the highlight of the episode. I didn't really like the Kyle Singer storyline in the first two episodes, but in this episode a little twist made me change my mind.

Argh, I must say that I'm hugely disappointed in the Palmer storyline. What happened in the previous episode involving Anne and her secret had me quite interested. I was expecting Palmer to discover that she was dodgy or something, but it doesn't turn out like that. =/ Palmer's girlfriend is so dull, at times like this I realise how much I miss Sherry.

I was quite sad that Luis got killed. I thought he had good potential. And I can't believe that Tony got shot! It was very unexpected, all that blood... :o

Quote of the hour! Chloe O'Brian: "Seems like they are really going out of their way to cut you out of the loop. Did you do something to piss off Jack?"

I thought this episode was a lot better then the first two episodes of the season. Every storyline got a little more involved and we were given a lot of new information. Jacks storyline wasnt the focus of the episode, but it was still cool to see him interact with Singers parents. Learning that the virus was a fake was an interesting twist. Ramon using the guard to kill the man that was after him was a pretty intense moment of the episode. It appears that even in jail Ramon still runs everything with his family in Mexico. The situation with David Palmer is all ready getting old. I liked his storyline in Season 2, hated it in season 1 and all ready in Season 3 its getting a little too repeatitive. Hopefully it will get more interesting when the debate starts. The highlight of this episode was the ending scenes with Bauer and Tony trying to take down the kid, which resulted in Tony Almedia getting shot - his life in danger.

The show continues to pick up the pace, the action and tension keep rising with every minute. Jack Bauer orders Chase out of the heat in order to make his job safer. Wayne Palmer and David Palmer discusses Anne's history before they continue their campaign for reelection. Tony Almeida goes to a mall to pick up Kyle but someone gets to him first. The action in this episode is amazing. I just can't get enough of 24, this episode promises what 24 always have shown, fun and excitement. No show does it better than 24. I'm just waiting for the next episode.

I was deployed to the Middle East so now that I am home I catching up on Season 3 via Netflix.

I was EXTREMELY relieved that Kyle's parents weren't infected. That would have been too horrific but not surprising for 24....

I think the Kim/Chase relationship is at a standstill for right now. Plus, I am curious about the situation with President Palmer.

Tony getting shot was hard to see. I think it must be a curse of either being good looking or liked too much on the show. Chloe looks too frazzled but I think that is the point of her character.

I was figuring that is was too early for Kyle to get caught. It would be too easy. I thought he would either die or keep running. So away he ran away....

    Overall, it was great!
  • Finally, a pretty good episode from the third season. Still...DAMN YOU KYLE SINGER! DAMN YOU!

This was the first episode of the third season that actually felt like a real episode of 24. The first half was pretty slow, but the second half finally had that great tension that we've come to know and love from 24.

    Pros

-Good line where Kyle Singer was chastising his father because he was the one that had to pay the rent instead of his father.

-Cool twist with Ramon had the prison guard kill Annicon.

-Very nice use of split-screens during key parts.

-More great Chloe stuff. God, she's great in every scene she has.

-Great tension building with Kyle Singer in the mall. I loved every bit of the mall stuff.

-SHOCKING ending with Tony getting shot. I didn't see that coming at all and I thought he was going to die. Great score during that last sequence. Really made the episode.

    Cons

-Slow start to the episode yet again.

-More stupid stuff with Kyle Singer. This season always dragged when he was on without someone from CTU.

-Lame stuff with the virus supposedly getting out. Honestly, you couldn't have believed that the virus was going to get released so soon in the season could you? It was an obvious twist.

-Too bad they killed off Annicon in this episode. He was a great actor and had long-term potential.

-Weird reaction by Helen Singer to Jack and company breaking in her apartment. She goes and dumps the "heroin" in the toilet when strange unknown men are sawing their way into her home?

-Oh God, I hated Chase in this episode. Shut up Chase.

Pretty good episode overall. Oh, if only the first two episodes of the third season had been as good as this one was...
  • A few problems along the way, but overall it's a very solid episode of 24.

Jack's problems are growing. President Palmer's problems are growing. Kyle Singer's problems are growing. And so is my interest in season 3 of 24.

Part of the reason my interest is growing is because of how interesting some of these plot lines are getting. Unfornately a couple of them are also getting on my nerves a bit. Luckily the good outweighs the bad, but that doesn't mean the bad isn't there.

There are two examples of bad plot lines going on right now. First is the President Palmer and Anne plot line. I was totally into the debate and what was going on after last week's cliffhanger, but it ended up not being that big of a deal after all as it is revealed what the problem with Anne is. I find myself rather uninterested in the plot line one short episode of dying to know what would happen next.

The whole Jack leaving Chase out of everything is getting pretty ridiculous too. I find myself getting really annoyed with Jack's behavior as it really isn't making any sense.

But otherwise everything was amazing. The Kyle Singer situation got incredibly interesting this episode, there was some really emotional scenes involved with this plot line this episode and I though they were all great, and captivating.

And Jack's heroin addiction continues to get more interesting, as another colleague has figured it out. This also set up another great scene.

And there were plot twists aplenty. Namely the death of Luis, and a shocking one at the end that is sure to have 24 fans rushing to see the next episode. This is exactly what 24 usually does and it's nice to see they are still suceeding at it.
  • Without a doubt the first great episode in the third season, it only got better from here.

Without a doubt, this episode was for me, one of the early highlights of season three.

Characters and storylines were still of course being developed, but early on I found myself gripped to the actions and storyline of Kyle Singer. This episode only added to that fact.

Elsewhere conflictingly, I just found the presidential storyline dull and uninteresting, despite Palmer being one of my favourite series characters. It just felt added on for no reason whatsoever, and for the first six or seven episodes of the season it would remain this way.

I really enjoyed the argument between Jack and Chase, and suddenly found myself welcoming of a \"sidekick character\" to the hero that is Jack Bauer. This only got better as the season went on.

It\'s the scene at the end of the episode that really does it for me though. Tony being shot in the neck was such a gripping moment, and really made me sit up. It was also in my opinion, the first true cliffhanger in the season, because of the vast amounts of blood, you were scared about Tony not making it, and you just wanted to watch the next episode straight away, in true 24 style.

    I Loved it.
