6:00 P.M.-6:04 P.M.: Jack changes course to take him over LA. While over the city they can't shoot him down. Ryan Chappelle shows up to take control of CTU and calls for a staff meeting right away.
6:04 P.M.-6:08 P.M.: Chappelle instructs everyone that they will do everything they can to bring Jack's helicopter down peacefully. He tells them Jack is on a suicide mission, and he knows it. Once Salazar's people have him, they will kill him, and pursuit craft are already en route to bring him down.
Hector is growing agitated that he unable to get in touch with Gael. Gael contacts Hector and tells him his brother is still alive and that Bauer broke him out and the two escaped in a helicopter.
6:08 P.M.-6:09 P.M.: Chappelle and Michelle feel Kim shouldn't be in CTU today; they want to send her home. Kim disagrees, so Michelle decides against it, for now, as the military helicopters are getting closer to Jack.
6:09 P.M.-6:10 P.M.: Chase calls Chappelle and asks if Palmer is aware of the plans to shoot Jack down. He tells him that he doesn't need clearance from the president. Chappelle gets a call from the head of the helicopter pilots, and he tells them not to fire until he hears back from him.
6:10 P.M.-6:14 P.M.: Chappelle calls Palmer's chief of staff and updates him on the situation. He tells Chappelle that the president will not be happy if they shoot Jack down. Palmer's aide tells him over the closed circuit radio what is going on. Palmer misses hearing an important question; he withdraws from the debate siting a national emergency, and walks off the stage in front of a stunned audience.
6:18 P.M.-6:20 P.M.: Kyle is strapped to a gurney inside an oxygen tent; he is highly panicked state. He is wheeled through several bio-hazard doors before a doctor finally calms him down telling him that he did not infect his parents, or his girlfriend. He is relieved, but only for a moment. He realizes he is not going to live; he starts to cry.
6:20 P.M.-6:21 P.M.: The helicopters in pursuit of Jack and Ramon now have them in their sights. Chappelle is informed they have four minutes before they can't safely shoot down the helicopter, while Chase is desperately seeking the hailing frequency for the helicopter from Chloe.
6:21 P.M.-6:26 P.M.: Palmer enters a room with his brother. He asks the president whether or not he will order the helicopter shot down. Palmer calls Chappelle, and reluctantly gives him the clearance to shoot, but Jack reaches the downtown core before they can fire. CTU successfully retrieves the hailing frequency to reach Jack, but it is too late, as Jack has landed and is now fleeing on foot with Salazar.
6:30 P.M.-6:34 P.M.: Kyle's parents arrive at the health center. Dr. Duncan meets them and they see their son on the gurney. She gives them the bad news that he will be dead within a few hours. They move to speak with him. The family have an emotional exchange, where Kyle's father apologizes to his son for not doing better to support the family.
6:34 P.M.-6:35 P.M.: Chase arrives at the scene where Jack landed. Chase is in hot pursuit.
6:35 P.M.-6:37 P.M.: Kim informs Michelle that Chase is after Jack, while her father and Salazar arrive at a valet parking lot and steal a car.
6:41 P.M.-6:45 P.M.: Palmer's brother tells him that he will have to go out to tell the people why he left the debate and denounce Jack Bauer's actions.
Bauer contacts Salazar's plane and gives them instructions on where to pick him up. Salazar tries to find out why Jack began using heroin; he tells him that it was not necessary to maintain the cover.
6:45 P.M.-6:48 P.M.: Michelle is relieved to hear that Tony has made it out of surgery and will make a full recovery. She informs Chappelle, who gives her a hug of support. He asks Michelle to have Gael run an analysis on air traffic to try and find any anomalies.
Kim and Adam head down to the tech room where Gael has been and they ask to see Michelle. He leaves the room, while leaving a station active, still running an auto-delete program to erase his tracks.
6:52 P.M.-7:00 P.M.: Anne apologizes again to him for causing any difficulty in the debate. She suggests putting their relationship on hold until after the election. Palmer protests, and she decides against it and walks away.
After re-checking their results, the doctors discover that Kyle has no trace of the virus in his blood. His parents rush in to see him. Duncan calls Chappelle and gives him the news. The question now is: where is the virus?
Jack and Salazar arrive at the airport. They are greeted with several of Salazar's men with guns, and they knock out Jack. Salazar goes to shoot him but Hector wants him alive, and they all board the plane.
Seeing the station Gael was working on still active, Kim reactivates it, and to her horror, finds video of her father being loaded on the plane.
Salazar sits comfortably in his seat as the plane takes off. The media is all over Palmer's scandal, and Hector sits waiting for his brother.
Kim hears the doors open to the room. Thinking it's Adam returning, she runs calling for him. But it is Gael, who levels a gun in Kim's direction, commenting that he forgot to turn that station off.
