    • Why would Jack remind Palmer of "the mission" he sanctioned? They have known each other for over four years now, why did he just not say that he worked with Saunders back during Operation: Nightfall?
    • When we see Chappelle lying on the ground after Jack shot him, there is no evidence of an entry wound on the back of his head. Yet in the next shot, we see his face with an exit wound. When Saunders men pick up Chappelle's body, you can see the entry wound in the back of his head.
    • When Kim changes into Jane in the bathroom she comes out wearing brown trainers, but then when she sits at the computer she is wearing black high heels! When she gets up again and walks to the bookcases she is once again wearing the trainers!
    • Originally Palmer only came to California for the debate. But this episode, when he calls a conference roughly half of his Cabinet and top advisors are there with him live. What are they all doing in California with him? They weren't around for the debate, and why would Palmer bring them into the area when the virus is at risk of release (at it has been since roughly 3 p.m.)? Or have them stay there for another 12+ hours.
    • The helicoptor with Jack and his daughter gets to Santa Barbara in about 13 minutes. It's roughly 95.3 miles from L.A. to Santa Barbara (according to Mapquest), which means they were travelling by helicopter at 430 miles per hour! That's absurdly fast for the helicopter we see them in.

    • Chloe: It is only fair that I should tell you, I told Tony I didn't think you should do this. I mean, field work isn't 'learn as you go.' Kim: I'm not doing this to be a field agent, Chloe. There's no one else. Chloe: Yeah, that'ts why I didn't fight Tony harder. Not that he would listen to me anyway, I'm not so out of it that I don't know that he doesn't respect my opinions on tactical matters. Kim: (annoyed) Okay, look. I have to go. Chloe: Okay, I just wanted to let you know how I felt and I want you to know that I'm behind you 110 percent. I really hope nothing bad happens to you. Kim: Listen, Chloe, are you coordinating this operation from inside? Chloe: Of course! Kim: Okay, well, maybe you should start prepping, because I bet there's about two dozen agents still waiting for comm codes. Chloe: (smiles) I like your energy, Kim. Use it!
    • Jane: You're the one in trouble here. You're the one breaking the law. Jack: You think I'm playing a game here with you? Hundreds of thousands of peoples' lives are on the line. You have no idea how far I'm willing to go to acquire your cooperation.
    • Jane: I want to talk to a lawyer. Jack: There's no lawyer. There's just you and me.
    • Jack: You better listen to me very carefully, Jane. Right now, your father is engaged in terrorist activities against the United States of America. This morning, he killed hundreds of people and has threatened to kill thousands more. Now, I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you to believe, but trust me, you're going to cooperate with us. There's a lot at stake and not a lot of time.
    • Palmer: I ordered the death of one of our agents, one of our finest. As unthinkable as that was, I had to buy some time in order to protect civilian lives. I will not cave in to any more of this terrorist's demands.
    • Jack: Right now Saunders is calling all the shots. If we don't do something soon, we will be completely paralyzed.
    • Jack: I know you think you are doing the right thing, but this is not going to happen! Kim: Somebody has to do it! Jack: Someone will. Not you! Kim: I am the best match. Jack: You're not a field operative! Kim: I have weapons training. This is decoy work. Saunders' people won't even come close to me. Jack: Kim, you don't know what you're talking about. If everything was to go right in this scenario, which is not a chance I am willing to take! Kim: You're not taking it! I am! Jack: (grabs Kim and pushes her against the wall) The reason why you got this job, the reason why I gave you this job, is so I can make sure that you'd be safe! Kim: The reason I took this job is because I wanted it. Not because you wanted me here. (pauses) I know this is hard for you, but this is not your decision. This is my job, better yet, my duty! I'm going to be safe, but I'm doing it.
    • Tony: She doesn't work for you, Jack. She works for me! Jack: (points at Tony) Don't.
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • Paul Schulze (Ryan Chappelle) is still credited, even though he only appears as a body in this episode.
    • A scene was cut from the final print of this episode, featuring Jack alone in a helicopter, weeping over the death of Chappelle. It bares a striking similarity to the last scene in the first season finale. Presumably, the writers liked the idea of Jack breaking down alone and saved the idea for the final dramatic moment.
    • SylviaImports.com, the website Saunders gives to Palmer, is owned by 24 director Rodney Charters. There is only simple text, which reads: Sylviaimports.com A Big Thank-you from the crew of 24. Thanks for watching, we love making it for you, and yes, we did get picked up for Season 4.
