What I liked -» Secretary Heller attitude. Audrey reaction to Henderson. Finally Henderson was caught, but unfortunately he will escape somehow. The new villain appearance explains that how President Logan planned all, now this make sense. Karen attitude and how she finally figure out.

What I Didn´t Liked -» A new villain appearance, this means that or Logan plot ends now, or this new villain will play his role in season 6 or later.

Action - » (9/10). Another Gun Fight that was nice to see. Also you have a pursuit here.

Drama - » (9/10). Finally some drama for Audrey. Martha reactions was nice.

Suspense/Tension - » (8/10). Not like the last episode, but managed to be great. Surprises/Shocks - » (10/10). There is a character that is supposed death by now and a appearance of another character that was missing. The action that Logan takes against his wife caught me by surprise. Also a new player arrives.

Time and Scene Management - » (9/10). Hard to notice that scenes that bought time.

Plot Details/Holes- » (8/10). There is a flaw, but overall, this was for traded for an emotion. A new villain appearance may give you a explanation on how President Logan planned things.

Beginning - » (7/10). We started with the usual 24 quality, following the consequences.

Complication Phase - » (8/10). This time things were less complicated, this episode focused in mini complications like: dealing with Martha, to pursue and to catch Henderson, to save Heller and also Audrey and Karen figuring out some things.

Climax - » (7/10). Audrey saving operation, but feel like another replay from the previous episode.

    Ending - » (7/10). The usual 24 ending.
  • Very much happening

This episode just managed to have so much different thing happening - first was the whole thing with Henderson and he saying that Heller is shadowed and what Heller decided to do with that problem.. and poor Audrey.. she has really got hard stuff in last couple of episodes.

I most say I also liked what was going on in CTU.. how Karen finally made a sense and warned that they are coming after Chloe.. And Logan confessing to Martha that he was involved.. wow.. that was something.. and how she took it.. A great acting..

And everything with Jack.. very exciting...

Yet another guy up the food chain is introduced: Graem, Bluetooth's answer to Max. Think they're trying too hard to make him mysterious, and it comes off a little bogus. But he may grow on us yet. Anyway, all Graem does here is tell Logan to shut Martha up. So Logan admits everything to her. Wasn't expecting that.

Jack gets a break and recaptures Henderson quite quickly. But there's always a catch; let me just put it this way…Heller drives into a lake. Yes, that should be cryptic enough.

These events take their emotional toll on Audrey. If you wish to see Ms. Raines break out of her Damsel routine, just watch her little scene with Henderson. Possibly her best ever. And may I say, she's never looked prettier.

To keep Jack busy for a while, the writers have come up with a story arc where he must find the recording stashed on a plane. So he goes to Van Nuys Airport for the third time tonight to try and stop the plane from taking off. But what kind of show would this be if it were that boring? No, Chloe's powers fail her this time, and Jack must stow away and do his thing in the air. Fudge anyone who doesn't consider that awesome.

And turns out Karen's not such a bad lady after all. Fancy THAT!

    Hourly Highlight:

In my opinion, the greatest Martha Logan freakout of the season.

    It would've been Heller's death, but…you know.

I thought the death of James Heller was done really bad. Not so much that fact that he prematurly drove his car of the cliff, but the fact that Audrey had almost no reaction to it. I remember in Season 4 when Paul died Audrey almost had 7 heart attacks screaming in vain as he died. Without a doubt Audreys unability to handle her emotions was something that we would all remember and she hardly shed a tear for her father when he died. Not to mention the fact that she was left with his killer and did nothing. I know Jack requested she not kill him, but come on. The Audrey I know would have shot that man in a heartbeat. I think Audrey should have flipped out a little more...anything.

Jack examines Audrey’s wound and sees that the bleeding has stopped. He tries to contact Chloe, but she doesn’t answer. A cell phone rings in the pocket of one of Heller’s dead guards. Jack answers it and talks to Heller, who is driving away from Logan’s retreat. Heller asks him for forgiveness for his earlier actions, but Jack blasts Heller for betraying him and hangs up. Jack then calls Buchanan and learns of Chloe’s escape from CTU. Jack tells Chloe that he needs her to track Henderson using CTU surveillance. Chloe says she can do it, but not for long or CTU will be able to trace her location. She uses Bill’s computer to spot Henderson driving away from the airfield. Jack and Audrey take off in pursuit.

Logan calls Henderson to see if he’s destroyed the recording. Henderson tells Logan that he’s keeping it for insurance against the possibility that Logan will try to have him killed, just like Walt Cummings. Logan tries to talk Henderson into changing his mind, but Henderson promises to keep the recording under lock and key and will only release it in the event of his death.

Jack speeds up and gains on Henderson, forcing him off the road. They trade shots and Henderson tries to flee, but Jack gets the drop on him and forces him to drop his gun. Henderson tells Jack that unless he lets him go, Heller will die. Henderson has men tracking Heller and they have orders to kill him unless Henderson calls in every 15 minutes. Jack has Chloe patch him through to Heller, who confirms that there is a chopper above him targeting him with a laser site. Jack is ready to let Henderson go, but Heller orders him not to give up the recording. Heller then guns his car and plunges it into a lake. Enraged, Jack slams Henderson to the ground and demands the recording, but Henderson doesn’t have it. Audrey begs Jack to shoot Henderson, but Jack pistol-whips him instead.

Logan calls a man named Graham and tells him to cancel the action against Henderson. Logan tells him of the recording, but Graham believes that Martha is the more immediate problem. Graham knows that she has been asking questions of Aaron Pierce and that she must be silenced. Logan promises to handle it.

Secret Service tells Martha that Aaron was transferred, but she doesn’t buy it. An agent named Adams tells her that her husband wants to talk to her. When she goes into an office, he locks the door behind her and she discovers that the phone is dead.

Jack searches Henderson and doesn’t find the recording. He figures that he must’ve handed the recording off to someone else before leaving the airport. Chloe pulls up footage of Henderson meeting another car, who’s driver took the recording and then got on to a plane which is preparing to take off. Jack asks Bill to call Curtis and have him bring a team over to secure Henderson and get Audrey to CTU for medical attention. Jack tells Audrey not to go near Henderson when he wakes up. They kiss goodbye and Jack leaves.

Miles tells Hayes that Bierko has regained consciousness and they are waiting for a medical check before interrogating him. Security calls Hayes and tells her of Chloe’s escape and Shari’s involvement. Miles knows that Chloe will try to use CTU resources to aid Jack and that they can find her when she hacks in. Hayes questions Shari, who tells her the whole story, including the fact that Logan was involved in Palmer’s assassination.

Logan talks to Martha and confesses his role in Palmer’s death. He also claims that he had Aaron transferred back to D.C., but that he’s all right. He wants her to stop her inquiries and stay silent for the good of the country. Martha is heartbroken and says she now hates her husband, but promises to keep quiet.

Graham’s associates are getting worried about too many loose ends. Graham gives them a nice pep talk and tells them to remember the strength they all had when they started this thing 18 months ago. Logan calls in and tells Graham that the situation with his wife is under control. Graham tells Logan to do whatever he has to to keep her in line.

Henderson begins to bait Audrey, telling her that there’s a chance that her father survived the crash into the lake. Audrey tells him to shut up or she’ll kill him.

Jack is watching the plane when Chloe calls and tells him that the chopper that was shadowing Heller is now heading toward Audrey and Henderson’s location. Jack calls Audrey and tells her to get out of there, but she refuses. The chopper lands and Audrey runs off. Henderson’s men uncuff him and he orders them to kill Audrey. Curtis arrives with his team and they kill Henderson’s men and capture him again.

Audrey calls Jack and tells him of Henderson’s capture. Jack asks Curtis to transport Audrey to CTU and allow no one near Henderson. Jack then calls Chloe, who tells him that the plane is a diplomatic flight that is about to take off. Jack asks Chloe to hack into the state department files and get him a passenger list as he evades security and approaches the plane.

Miles spots Chloe hacking into the State Department and traces her to Buchanan’s home. He tells Hayes that he’s dispatching a team to pick her up. Hayes calls Mike and asks if anyone has actually seen the evidence against Jack. Mike tells her that Logan isn’t consulting anyone for the current operation, so no one has seen anything. Hayes hangs up, thinks for a moment, then calls Bill and tells him that Chloe is being traced and that he has less than seven minutes to get her out of there. Bill tells Chloe to go, but she wants to send Jack the passenger list first.

Jack hides in the shadows as luggage is being loaded on to the plane. A car flying British and French flags drives away. Jack pulls down his hood and grabs two bags, then discretely walks on to the plane. He hides in the baggage compartment as the plane takes off.

  • Good personal showdowns.

The final fourth of the season starts with an effective display of the deeper runs of the conspiracy, which helps set the stage for what should be the final stage of the season. It helps with some victories for the good guys, but there are some devastating set backs to keep the story going along.

The previews certainly proved that Heller was doomed, becoming the sixth recurring character to die this season. It's a huge price for Heller to pay for not listening to Jack and planning something with him. It also refreshes the personal nature of this season's threat while still making sense, unlike Tony's unfortunate demise. This establishes the mood for the episode as Jack and Audrey face their desire for revenge against needing Henderson to bring down the conspiracy.

It is further reinforced when Jack has to track the person who was handed the recording, while leaving Audrey with Henderson until Curtis and his team arrives. Much like Tony did, Audrey has plenty of reason and opportunity to exact revenge, revealing a dark side we haven't seen from her before, but she can't do it. Fortunately for Audrey, her instance doesn't involve her getting killed by Henderson in some slasher flick manner. Obviously, Henderson and his men would kill her, but thankfully Curtis comes out from hiding to save the day (Hurray for Curtis' return).

Henderson knows how to manipulate people. His monologue to Audrey made me believe that Heller possibly could still be alive and his detailing of her father drowning horribly only makes it worse. Of the deaths this season, Heller's is the most likely to be faked. I'm not expecting him to come back since he didn't within this hour, but that seed will be with the fans until the end of the season when it's beyond clear he is gone.

Henderson is obviously a very smart villain, so he's aware that this recording serves to keep him alive. It is now revealed that Walt's suicide wasn't filled with continuity errors (hand-cuffs, secret security detail allowing enough time for him to die of suffocation), but a planned murder. I don't buy that Logan was directly involved, but rather tipped Graham and his men and let them do the rest, or that secret service were involved, and managed to get the noble Aaron away for them to do it.

Thankfully, they decided to add a new element to the conspiracy, since there isn't enough between Logan and Henderson to last for the rest of the season. Their motivations aren't as clear as the "patriots'", embarking on this conspiracy for their country. Graham and his men may be most likely out for the oil profits, much like Kingsley and crew in season 2.

Both sides certainly manipulate Logan to the fullest extent possible. The writers have to be careful how to deal with Logan's turn, and so far they have done well. Logan has been spineless since we met him, so it would make sense that once he started down the road of compromising himself in the hopes of improving his status that those whose morals were clearly questionable would be able to control him.

Graham certainly is aware of Logan's uncertainty. Since the time they started planning this coincides with season four and Logan's ascension, perhaps they even had something to do with the attack on Keeler that got Logan where they needed him. It probably won't be explored, but considering what they have done, it wouldn't be out of place for them.

The harder Logan and his cronies try to cover up their plan, the bigger the mess is. Besides the unwise decision of getting Jack involved on a deeply personal level, the body count they are responsible for is too much for even those in the 24 world to shake off as another bad day. A beloved former president, the president's chief of staff and the secretary of defense have all died in the last twenty, all the while the president tries to make us belief that things are solving themselves.

The part that most worries fans is the fate of our favorite secret service agent, Aaron Pierce. No one buys that Aaron was suddenly transferred to Washington in the middle of this crisis considering what he knows and leaving his cell phone where he was supposed to meet Martha. However, the dialogue between Graham and Logan imply that he hasn't been "taken care of". Hopefully this is a good sign.

Of course, this leads to Martha's scene, where Logan finally reveals the truth, further reinforces why we love her while reinforcing the tragedy of Charles Logan. While Martha is a godsend for Logan, he treats her like a nuisance. So it is fitting that she asserts herself, but puts Logan in his place. Although they claim their marriage is now for show, Martha would wisely break up with him by the end of the season. Like she said, Logan deserves to suffer for what he's done.

Karen gets some high marks for CTU directors. She has been wary about Logan's choices, and now she has enough reason to believe that Jack might be right after all. Many previous directors would conveniently throw out this logic, which was a bit annoying. It is much more logical for Karen to do something now that the conspiracy is in focus. Warning Chloe about CTU eminent arrival at CTU: Bill's House is definitely a risky move, but it is makes her sympathetic. I wonder if she considered getting Miles involved in helping her, or perhaps she thought he was too much of a stickler to support even her protocol breaking actions. Considering the sheer amount of deaths this season, we may see more of her in season six.

Entil pointed this out in his review, but Karen is also in an interesting position at CTU. She'll have two major pieces of the conspiracy in her office (the wormholes CTU travel through will certainly deliver Curtis and his men to CTU early in the next episode). Although Bierko is the mastermind behind the Russian side, Erwich was the one who brokered the deal with the Russians. How much he knows is up for discussion, but he survived the gas plant explosion for a reason.

As for CTU: Bill's House, Buchanan and Chloe's interactions, complete with Chloe's awkward observations that he wasn't her boss anymore, were really great. Of course, they were more useful for the investigation than the actual CTU, who didn't seem to do much aside from chase them down. They get Jack to another airport I'll never visit where Jack can slip in, complete in his Unabomber hood onto a diplomatic flight. It'll be interesting to see how they play this out, perhaps a Chinese diplomat is on the flight who would be very interested in Jack hijacking the plane.

The core group of writers must be working hard on the final five, since this episode was written by and directed to people new to 24. Despite the pratfalls of new writers, this episode is surprisingly good since they stuck with the lead they were given. The personal nature gets to stew as they confront Henderson, who simultaneously adds to the body count. The stage is set for the final act, and it is looking good.
  • Everything\'s starting to reach a head, and it\'s hard to tell exactly where they\'re going with this..

    9.1
    "Superb"
I thought this episode was one of the better episodes this season. While this season has been much more consistent and thrilling (last season had too many \"contingency\" plans by the terrorists), there has still been a few below par episodes. This is one of the above average ones. I thought it was a well written episode, and well acted.

The thing I like the most right now is the whole recording plot. I don\'t exactly know what everybody else feels about it, but it reminds me of Season 2 in many ways, not just in the plot but in the suspense. With Henderson and Bierko seeming to be able to escape from just about any corner, it seems as if Jack will never get back the recording. The introduction of the four men is very interesting, and I\'m excited to see what they\'ll do with it.

I think Season 5 has the potential to be a Season 2/3 type of season, depending on how these last episodes end up
  • We get a better fix on where people stand this episode.

    "Great"
This episode was pretty well written. It went pretty smoothly. A few surprises. A lot of tension and suspense throughout.

A little less bureaucratic infighting than other episodes. Everyone pretty much knows or has an inkling where everyone else stands. In this episode, things begin playing themselves out some towards their natural conclusions.

It is funny because at the beginning of this season, it was looking like the government was fighting a terrorist threat. Now the sole action taking place - is the government fighting itself.

It is very difficult to like the character of President Logan. It almost seems that the way he is written, if any body could like him - there would have to be something wrong with them.
  • Not a classic episode of 24, but it still manages to leave the viewer wanting more. Posing more potential twists, yet still advancing the plot.

    8.8
    "Great"
Were nearing the end of another great season of 24 and as fans of the show, you would expect something shocking, surprising or pivotal considering only a few episodes remain.

This episode is nothing brilliant; it breaks no new ground and enters no uncharted territory, yet it still manages to leave the viewer on a knife-edge throughout and maintains the degree of tension and suspense you would expect from this show, especially since the series finale grows near.

Finally Martha Logan has realised what a loser her husband is, exclaiming to his face that she cannot forgive him and ‘hates him.’ It would appear that Aaron Pierce has been relocated, but I am sure there is more to this storyline, as it would be uncharacteristic of the show to simply relocate a character that’s figured quite heavily thus far.

Henderson is finally captured and Heller drives his car off a cliff so as to avoid being killed by Henderson’s henchmen. Again it is quite possible that there is more to this, I have a feeling we’ll be seeing him again sometime.

One criticism I do have is that it would appear that the producers are going to stretch out the apprehension of the evidence that indicts the President for the remaining episodes. This type of storyline was attempted during the second half of season two with the ‘Cyprus audio file,’ which I felt brought down what was, for the first half a great season.

No doubt more surprises remain in this season, I just hope it’s not simply a case of “have you/haven’t you got the evidence,” for the remaining episodes. I look forward to what should be a great finale come the end of May. As i say nothing ground-breaking, but a fine example of a great show.

  • Another one bites the dust...or does he? (Spoilers)

    9.5
    "Superb"
Last monday\'s episode of 24 was a transitional show, but in doing so it still managed to excite and shock. The show begins with a coversation b/t Jack and Secretary Heller. Heller is asking for forgiveness because he blew Jack\'s plan to hell. Jack didn\'t have the time to appease Heller\'s guilty conscience and had to find Henderson and he did. Though he had a contingency plan to protect himself and that plan was to target Heller.

Jack called Heller and alerted him of the situation and once he did Heller wanted nothing to do with being the reason Henderson escaped, so he drove his car into a lake, splash...another 24 character 6 feet deep (or is he...there are varying opinions on whether or not he survived or not).

Henderson passed off the recording to someone who boarded a plane at Van Nuys airport.

President logan told his wife of his involvement in David Palmer\'s assassination and she freaked out. Logan had to keep her quiet so he told her what she was on her way to finding out and added a stay quiet advisory to it. She complied but not without first chewing out her husband with a crisp...\"I hate you\". We also find out that Logan and a man so far known as Graham and he had a part in today\'s planning to what extent in still in question.

We return to Jack at the airport, and it is confirmed by Chloe and Bill at his house, which is the new, trustworthy CTU, that the plane the man with the recording boarded is a diplomatic flight. Jack boards the plane and sneaks on successfully at the clock ticks on.

    P.S Where is Wayne Palmer?
  • Entirely too much Audrey, as usual this season.

    4.8
    "Poor"
The second half of this season has been ruined by the Audrey Raines character (so reviled last season), after TPTB tried to remake in a Chloe mold with none of Chloes charm (or the actress ability), and then force-fed her as the series central heroine. This episode exemplifies that. We have an Audrey (supposedly with a semi-mortal wound and having lost a lot of blood rapidly) able to spring about without any attempt at even seeming tired. Then her reaction to her own father s death looked like one my husband had when they served him crab instead of lobster at a restaurant. The actress CAN act. Something has broken down considerably in the 24 character department. We also have yet more examples of Jack becoming a wuss.

  • Mrs. Logan desperately tries to find Agent Pierce. Do the writers of 24 have another mystery mole in the White House? A possible spoiler.

    4.0
    "Poor"
A few questions are still left unanswered. One question is what happend to Aaron? I was really happy with the character development of Agent Aaron Pierce this season so I hope they don\\\'t kill him off! I have had enough regular characters killed off for one season (Heller was the last straw). Besides, the chemistry between Agent Pierce and the First Lady has been very appealing.

If someone did kidnapped Aaron was it also the same person who informed President Logan that Evelyn had made contact with Wayne? Henderson knew some how that Evelyn met with Wayne, but they never explained how Henderson knew.

I wonder if Agent Steve is involved. He was anther Secret Service Agent who Aaron told about Wayne in hour 9. Agent Steven could have been the one who told President Logan or Henderson about Wayne coming to the White House. Also, Steven would have no trouble kidnapping a fellow agent.

This is getting more confusing every second. First, there is President Logan. In the beginning, he agrees to hand the Russian President over to the terrorists. Now he IS the head of the terrorists? It is easy to see that the writers didn\\\'t plan this season ahead of time. To bad. If they did, season five might make more sense.

Also, it isn’t very intriguing to watch when just about everyone starts to realize what a two-face man Logan is. I’m glad that some of CTU, Mrs. Logan, Palmer and Aaron know but having homeland security and Logan’s staff becoming suspicious? Now that Henderson is in custody, they might as well arrest Logan now.

Yet, there were some good parts. For one, I loved the scenes between Chloe and Bill. It was hilarious!

HOwever, season five is going down hill for me. In the beginning, I was on the edge of my seat. Yet, with only a few hours to go, it seems that the season final will be a very big disappointment.

Will they ever explain what happened to Evelyn and her daughter?

    Will Aaron be okay?

Will I be able to watch another episode without cringing?

  • Jack captures Henderson. Gets Audrey some help. Send for CTU to capture Henderson. Homeland Sercuity's Karen realizes that the president is behind this whole thing. Henderson confesses to Martha.

I feel like this show is doing the same thing over and over again. I mean you might say its different but the only difference is that this time its the president with the terrorist instead of some terrorist. But what I find interesting is Bill and Chole's relationship. I cant wait till they hookup hoping that they do. I also find that every character in this show has his or her own stupidity. Karen not realizing sooner that its the president. Chole for not setting up a block for the laptop before she uses it so shw wont be found. I mean theses people should know to do these things because they are CTU.

Jack catching up to Henderson is fun to watch. But now he has someone else in his sights. I thought from last weeks show we might loose Audrey but she is still hanging in with us. She also misses the chance to kill Henderson in the hanger alone. That was something I would have liked to see. We have a new bad guy Graham talking to President Logan and a new person Jack is pursuing right now. I can't wait to see how it all works out. It is an hour of fun every Monday night and Jack is the man.
  • About time....

    "Perfect"
Great story. Whining Logan after all is reporting to some covert committee and still whining ("Do I get a word of appreciation?\") - typical. OK now we know thare are higher ups in this crime of high level consipiracy! Let's hope that they have some devious evil scheme up the sleeve - may be another truck load of nerve gas? My only gripe is the head hancho doesn't seem menacing enough with 3 others sitting around looking yuppishly innocent.

All the supporting characters are looking good. Audrey emotional scenes were well executed, Chloe the faithful tech sidekick, Bill the ever Mr Dependable, Curtis the quient soldier and good ally despite their different allegience ( "CTU is more interested in apprehending you than taking your advice"), Karen, well what can I say, luv ye! Even Heller, his heroism makes you want to forgive him for his earler blunder.

By the way, I suspect Heller is not dead. The guy was kicking ass in Day 4 and gave Jack a karate chop - I just think he is tougher than that! Here's hoping...

Great episode that gets the ball rolling again - now let's see Jack kick some a*#%.
  • Secrets are revealed and new players are introduced --- Spoilers ---

    ---SPOILERS---

Who exactly are the new players pulling Logan's strings? It's amazing how many levels this conspiracy has climbed through this season. Every time we think we have discovered the ultimate puppet master, we find out his strings are being pulled by someone even higher up the ladder.

Martha finally learns what her husband has done. She doesn't get all the gory details, but she learns enough to change her opinion of Logan forever. What will she do before the season finale to set things right? Will she keep his secret? I hope not.

One thing I found particularly satisfying is that we found out that Cummings' suicide was anything but. I had a real problem with the way he died (being left unsecured in a hallway long enough to hang himself with his own necktie??). I never believed it was a feasible suicide and now we find out it wan't one at all. Logan had him silenced. I still th ink they should have found a more plausible way of killing him though. Slit his wrists or something. Hanging oneself in a hallway from a sprinkler nozzle on the ceiling that is pretty much out of reach in the first place using the necktie tied around your own neck....blech.

Great episode...looks like we still have a rocky ride before we're done though...and I'm looking forward to the fireworks!
  • It was good, but could have been better.

I had a good time watching this episode. However, I found something was missing. At the end, when the clock was ticking, I didn't have the excitement that I usualy have. The suspence wasn't not that good...

It is great that Curtis is back, we needed to see some other faces. However, we did not learn how Aaron has been captured by the President. Is plot is interesting, it was missing in this episode.

The coolest part was Karen Hayes doubting of the credibility of Logan. She's being suspicious and this is great. I hate the guy she works with and I hope she will kick some ass.
  • Gripping episode spread thick with intrigue.

    8.6
    "Great"
This was a strong episode as the Logan conspiracy starts to unravel. President Logan finds himself becoming isolated by Henderson's refusal to destroy the evidence. This feeling is amplified as his condecending paymasters imply they will hang him out to dry if he doesn't shut Martha up for good. "You've earned our trust" they patronize.

Ultimately the story leads to Van Nuys airport, where Jack must stow away onboard a diplomatic flight to retrieve the lost evidence from one of the, as yet unknown passengers.

I really liked this episode for a variety of reasons. The scene with Jack and Henderson with Heller in the car was great to watch to it's spectacular conclusion. Logan's confession to Martha was another high point, how could he seriously expect his wife to understand his involvment in Palmers death?.

Of course this episode had a few convenient moments but nothing that ruined my enjoyment. Yes, Jack casually walks onto the plane but it would have been silly if he had to shoot his way onboard, killing civilians along the way. I am fully expecting Aaron Pierce to be on the aircraft now he has been reassigned to Washington. Whether he is really the mystery accomplice Jack seeks remains to be seen.
  • Yet more surprises in this episode, impossible to not keep watching!

Yet another surprising episode from this series, which have me hooked all season, Jack seems to find all the answers, get all the breaks.

This time helped immensly by Chloe finding the escapee Henderson, helping Audrey and this time help from Curtis which we didn\'t see for quite some time.

Also Jack leaves Audrey by herself with the cuffed Henderson with a gun and a cell, what would Audrey do? after she finds out her father may or may not be dead thanks to Henderson.

This episode also introduces some new characters, they seem to be above the President of the United States? all wearing blue tooth cell phone devices (like a uniform) and all unknown, we will stay tuned of what this plot is all about.

I was very happy with this episode..no more cheesy Mission Impossible music. Jack never seems to let me down. I am happy to see the Secretary of Defense back, I liked him and I don't really think he is dead. I think the man, may have jumped out at the last second. Jacks ability to deal with insanity is priceless. I am glad that I don't have the gift of numbness, but I am happy that Jack does have that gift. 24 is and will always be the best show on tv, and I am happy to know that they will be on for 3 more seasons. I am also happy that Mrs. Homeland Security has finally caught on to what is going on. You got to love that Bill Bucannan.

Once again 24 provides yet another phenomenal episode. This current installment was best viewed witha vodka or 6, but my goodness the action was intense. People died (again), plot twists are revealed (again), and ratings went up (you get the gist).

In my television deprived area of the globe, humans are currently salivating over reruns of Seinfeld, so this welcome breath of pulsating air is rather refreshing on an exciting tv landscape.

    America, F**K YEAH!

This episode was pretty exciting, though a little bit over the top. We all know Jack has more lives than a cat, but Henderson has even more, in a single episode he is capturd, then he escapes, then he is captured again, and alive.

The one thing we all agree has been the worst thing about this season is the dying of all the characters we liked. First David Palmer and Michelle, then Edgan and Tony (this two were unforgivable) and now even Heller, wich was a huge dissapointment. When he was back I was all excited to see him kick some ass, and it turns out he does nothing but to screw up. And after 5 seasons I think Jack would have learned something, but it seems he has a very slow learning curve, I mean we all thought about blowing a knee off of Henderson, but he just cuffed him. Well, despite all that I still can\'t wait for the next episode.
  • Overall, this episode is another strong link in the recent chain, delivering a number of unexpected twists and consequences as the central conflict escalates.

The beginning of the episode is quite the feat of recapping, but the painful exposition is over quickly enough. It’s a little easy for Chloe to get into the CTU servers, given the fact that her escape ought to have been detected very quickly, but it’s not the only plot issue. Henderson doesn’t need the recording as insurance, after everything that has happened so far, but it sure does give Jack the chance to get his hands on it again. And just how does Audrey survive that long after bleeding out that much and wearing a makeshift tourniquet?

It’s always fun when Jack gets to confront and interrogate one of the main bad guys, and considering his history with Henderson, it adds a nice personal touch to the situation. Of course, it doesn’t come without a price. Heller represents yet another personal loss in a season filled with death and betrayal. (Though Heller might have survived, since driving into the lake could have masked his escape from the shooters in the helicopter….really!)

And now, at this late hour, another conspirator is introduced. Since Logan isn’t supposed to be very clever, one might assume that this new player is the real mastermind, the one advising Logan in his actions from the very beginning. While that doesn’t absolve Logan of his responsibility, it does shove his character into a completely new brand of personal weakness. Any sense of wounded dignity present in the beginning of the season is now completely undermined.

This new “consortium” appears to consist of businessmen, which would fit the whole idea of starting this entire mess to gain control of foreign oil. Logically, since the group began working 18 months earlier, they jumped on the chance to control a weak president with little support. Once they threw their economic clout into the ring, Logan probably had it easy. And now that the big plan is unfolding, when better for Jack to come back and tear it down?

It would be too easy if Henderson had the recording, but it throws the episode in an unexpected direction. Jack is forced to go after the recording, leaving Audrey alone with Henderson until Curtis can arrive to take them back to DHS-occupied CTU. It’s plain on Audrey’s face that she has an ulterior motive, but Jack has a long of other things on his mind and doesn’t see it.

Ironically, if things go according to plan at this stage of the game, a now-conscious Bierko and Henderson would be in Karen’s custody. Given her questions about Logan’s orders since her occupation of CTU, she would be in the perfect position to gather enough information on the conspiracy to threaten Logan’s attempt at a cover-up. Even when it seems that Chloe’s escape would distract her, events push Karen towards an understanding of the truth and the right action. (Assuming, of course, that Miles is not part of the plot as well.)

One of the best moments in the episode is Logan’s confession to Martha. Her reaction is exactly as extreme as one would expect, just as Logan’s attempt to save her is consistent with his choices earlier in the day. Logan’s justifications are completely disingenuous, yet they do hold a certain truth. Just as Heller realized, exposing Logan will only undermine the public trust in the presidency. All the same, how could Martha’s reaction be any different?

Henderson plays on the very fact that Heller might still be alive to twist Audrey’s head around, despite the fact that she’s rather focused on thoughts of revenge. Henderson’s men foil those thoughts, forcing Audrey to make a run for it. Curtis gets to make the kind of move Tony used to make, and just like that, Henderson is in custody.

Conveniently, the plane carrying Henderson’s accomplice hasn’t taken off in the past hour, and none of the DHS personnel have been able to get to Chloe or Bill, despite how long they’ve been connected to the CTU servers. When that moment finally comes, Karen makes the choice to move solidly into Jack’s column. Since Chloe needs to get moving to stay out of DHS hands, Jack is forced to get on the plane the hard way.

This episode had a lot more plot conveniences than the past few episodes, but they weren’t so substantial as to undermine the episode entirely. As this little war continues, there should be apparent casualties on both sides, and this episode certainly begins that process. With episode 20 coming up, it’s expected that there will be another, final shift in the arc. Considering how the past few episodes have stepped up the game, it’s going to be a challenge to maintain the level of quality.

To sum it up, this epidsode seems a little over the top. Nobody would purposely drive a car off the cliff (humans are not programmed to suicide). Anyways, he\\\'s a Sec Def and has obligation to use his knownledge to protect the nation and to prosecute those who are responsible for the treasonous acts.

But the purpose of my review is this - does anybody (or just me) feel that this is like a Robocop reunion? You got Henderson (Peter Weller), Vice Pres (Ray Wise), and the head honcho of the new crew (Rob McCrane). These last two were the bad guys in Robocop (awesome movie).
  • A great Episode!!

Finnaly, logans charactor really develops, for a couple of episodes now we have known that he\'s been invoved an equel to a terrorist, but only in this episode do we see how horrid he can get and he does compare to a terrorist mastermind in 24, Finnaly theve captured henderson for the second time but will he get away? Audrey\'s holding up pretty well considering she lost loads of blood and then heres that her father (heller) has just killed himself. A really good episode, sure there were a few bits that didnt add up but hey we are coming to the end of what is a really good season, only 5 episodes left!!

I like 24 and I don't agree with all the negative reviews.

a 'down' show is necessary before the final push. It's a lot like a roller coaster, you cant always be going up or down a hill, occasionally you need to level out before you get pushed up the big hill and dropped again.

    I liked the episode
  • 24 has been unrealistic, but this just about tops it!

Some predictable moments in this episode. Although I was at the edge of my seat when Heller had the laser trained at him and he drove off the cliff, I have a very good feeling he\\\'s still alive - and many users on the forum feel the same way. The death was far too \\\"implied\\\" to be real.

Thumbs up for Karen having doubts about CTU being run by the president and taking orders from him. I used to dislike her but it\\\'s amusing how she\\\'s so easily manipulated (esp. by Jack) and yesterday you could tell by her face that she liked what Shari told her about Logan.

Also, I wasn\\\'t a fan of the room with the guys in suits advising the president. What is this, Dr. Evil and his little associates? It looked so played-out and artificial.

The worst - the silly part - when Jack nonchalantly grabbed 2 suitcases and pranced up the ramp onto the plane at the end. It upsetted me most that not 5 seconds later there were 3 men standing around the ramp to take it down. What kind of airport workers are these to not notice a man slowly walking up a ramp right beside them? It was as though Jack\\\'s hoodie acted as Harry Potter\\\'s invisibility cloak or something. I thought he was going to hide inside a large crate to be put on the plane, but no. Well, let\\\'s see what tricks 24 throws at us in the future.
  • Jack lets Henderson go.. then finds him again. Audrey\'s dad drives off a cliff instead of getting killed by Hendersons men... and the Prez spills his guts to his wife... who will no doubt tell someone the master plan. Jack sneaks on a plane, for the au

As an avid 24 watcher I was not overly thriled with this one. The fast paced storyline is showing obvious slowdowns with this one. Granted, the Senator taking a swim with the fishes was an interesting turn, but we really didnt learn anything else about the master plan...except theres yet ANOTHER group of baddies. Obviously, it was still better than pretty much any other drama on TV, but this episode left way too many questions:

    1) How did chloe get to bills home so fast?

    2) Why did Jack not shoot Henderson in the arm or leg after he basically killed Audreys father?

    3) And furthermore, why didnt Audrey? Someone just killed your dad...and you don\'t have the guts to shoot him? Not even in the foot?

    4) There is no way Jack could get into that airport let alone walk right on the plane. Since when do you not check the top of a truck? And a guy in a dark hood walking up a luggage ramp wouldnt be a tad suspicious?

Lets hope the season wraps up with some plausability... and that dumb president getting whacked.

  • Chloe sets up a CTU satellite office in Bill's living room and helps Jack pick up Henderson's trail. Meanwhile, Karen's suspicions about President Logan grow; and we get a look at a group of suits who are in on this deal with the weasly Pres.

    "Great"
Good episode and one where things are starting to make sense, unlike last week. Jack and Audrey pick up Henderson's trail and capture him at a nursery. If I had been Jack, all those shovels and extra potting soil might've given me an idea of how to handle Henderson... But anyway, with the help of hackers Chloe and Bill at CTU's brand new satellite office, Jack discovers the existence of a plane with someone on board whom Henderson gave the recording for safe keeping. Let's just say Jack made his own boarding pass and it promises to be a bumpy ride next week!

So, Ms. Homeland Security has some brains after all. Karen has started putting together what Logan's up to, and tips Chloe off that she's been discovered at Bill's. If I were Myles, I'd start polishing my resume'.

Audrey's artery wasn't cut after all, and after pushing Jack to go after Henderson's henchmen, she is rescued by Curtis (where ya been, buddy?) who also takes Henderson into custody.

Henderson's henchmen were tracking Secretary Heller who drove his car into a lake on purpose to keep Jack from letting Henderson go. His fate is technically unknown, but it's likely he's dead. Things don't look good for Aaron either who was suddenly "transferred" by Logan...who then confesses enough of his sins to Martha to make her say she hates him... Uh-oh.

  • Nothing spectacular plus some pretty unrealistic things going on

    HIGHLIGHTS:

    * Karen stepping up and thinking for herself; sending out the warning to Chloe. Good job!

    * Chloe as always with her trademark attitude.

    * Martha standing up to Pres Logan

    * The return of Curtis, good to see you. Return of Mike again "Northing that i can say with any authority. But... its been a very... strange night"

    * Wallace playing mind-games with Audrey and Audrey not caving in

    LOWLIGHTS:

    * Jack not telling anyone about Audrey's injury and lugging her along on his mission was pretty irritating. Call for an ambulance with her condition and location first thing bro!

    * Jack's sneaking onto the plane was pretty cumbersome and not very likely to have succeeded. SOMEONE would have see that unless he's become invisible

    * Heller's death was actually irritating. First he only thought about it for about 5 seconds, yikes! Then, why not at least TRY to live. Roll out of your car and run or something!

    UNDECIDED:

    * Random bunch of guys in suits sitting around in a mysterious room somewhere calling the shots. Ok. Bizarre.

    * Aaron better be ok.
