The terrorists take Derek in front of live television. When the terrorists force him on his knees, you can see a splatter of blood on the floor from the body of the last victim that was shot there. As time is running out, another shot of Derek being held by the terrorists is shown, and the mere splatter of blood that had been near his knees is now a noticeably big pool of blood.
The main terrorist has a Nokia 3585i. This phone does not beep when the 'send' button is pressed as it does here on several occasions.
Glenn Morshower ("Agent Aaron Pierce") now joins Kiefer Sutherland, Carlos Bernard and Dennis Haysbert as the only actors to appear in all five seasons of 24.
The terrorists give Logan and CTU a 15 minute deadline before they kill Derek at approx. 9:25 on screen time. Jack doesn't blow up the guy's vest as a diversion until about 9:45 on screen time.
In this episode, Jack's phone is a Treo (a Palm-powered phone). Cellular service is provided by Sprint. In the following episode, he has a flip phone.
Martha: You know, in three seconds, Mr. Burke. I am going to scream louder than any woman you've ever heard in your life.
Jack: Understand this, Bill. I don't work for you. I'm staying inside. You want my intel, fine. But I'm doing this my way.
Buchanan: Were you able to identify the terrorists from the photos Jack sent? Edgar: Still no matches on the watch list. I tried three different coding arrays. Buchanan: Did you try widening the parameters? Edgar: If it was any wider, we could use the phone book.
Buchanan: You managed to rack up four protocol violations. Chloe: (helpfully) Well, it's a lot worse than that if you count agency doc codes. It's more like twenty-six violations...do you want me to figure out whose face that is? ...or I could just wait in holding.
Buchanan: With all due respect Mr. President, we don't have time. Logan: Then talk faster!
As of this episode, Jude Ciccolella (Mike Novick) is the longest running guest star on the series with 41 episodes. Mary Lynn Rajskub held the previous record of 40 before being promoted to a series regular at the beginning of this season.
