  • Its incredible how

Its such a great story, we dont have any idea what the hell is going on, great action, great stories, great acting. Nasically the perfect show. Kiefer is perfect. The airport story is epic.
  • Ontario Airport: Part 1

This episode was written by newcomer Manny Coto, whose previous work on science fiction programs I haven't seen much of, if at all. But after viewing "9am - 10am," I just might have to check those shows out… Oh, who am I kidding? No way in hell am I gonna become a Trekkie. As of now, the main threat has moved onto a dire hostage crisis at the Ontario Airport, and Jack is smack in the middle of it. Plus, Derek has moronically landed himself as one of the hostages. The apparent goal of the terrorist act is solely to prevent the signing of the arms treaty between Logan and Suvarov, but as we're only at the third hour of the season, I suspect otherwise. At the presidential retreat, Martha's got her own problems trying to prove to her husband that Palmer was about to tell her something big before his death. She decides to use some questionable methods in order to gain access to the phone transcripts. But why quibble about it?A very good episode that creates nice drama and tension out of the hostage situation, intrigue out of the CTU/White House mole storyline, and…well, that's it. But it's pretty sweet. Next!Hourly Highlight:Martha popping her boob out. I think I love her.moreless
  • Intensity!!!!!!!!1

Since the Previous Episode built this Airport Storyline, now we have a pay off. This airport Storyline seems until now very good and intense.

First, after being annoying, martha finally did something, at least, you can find one of her scenes funny.

All the Attention is focused in the airport, so Jack is there, curtis is planning, Bill is managing, chloe is helping.

The episode itself is all about the tension created. Derek in this episode serves for this porpose for example. A mole inside President Logan Administration made things more difficult.

Overral, There is nothing new, but since the writers now were willing to kill important characters, the tension created still good and the situation itself seems impossible to overcome.moreless
  • Exciting action...

So, we have quite familiar things going on - nothing super new but the things are still exciting and it looks like they are going to rescue operation but oh, on the crucial moment the mole in president administration forwards the information about Bauer there and he is forced to come out to save Derek. And now they are blind there, Jack is out and rescue mission aborted.

On other hand, Logan's wife is putting the pieces together and there is nothing to stop her to get what she wants and she manages to get to the archives and to the information she needs. But what did she found?moreless
  • Awesome!

Very good episode indeed. It started out kind of slow, but it kept getting more and more interesting as it kept going. My personal favorite parts where when Jack first called and Audrey asked that he was put on speaker phone so that she could hear his voice, I thought that was very sweet. I also liked what the first lady did to get the access card to the archive room, that was awesome. I liked the last couple of minutes leading to the vest bomb going off, that was very exciting. And of course the ending, which is always awesome in this show. I can't possibly imagine what Jack will do next. He'll probably figure it out though.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Carlos Bernard (Tony) does not appear in this episode.

    • The terrorists take Derek in front of live television. When the terrorists force him on his knees, you can see a splatter of blood on the floor from the body of the last victim that was shot there. As time is running out, another shot of Derek being held by the terrorists is shown, and the mere splatter of blood that had been near his knees is now a noticeably big pool of blood.

    • The main terrorist has a Nokia 3585i. This phone does not beep when the 'send' button is pressed as it does here on several occasions.

    • Glenn Morshower ("Agent Aaron Pierce") now joins Kiefer Sutherland, Carlos Bernard and Dennis Haysbert as the only actors to appear in all five seasons of 24.

    • The terrorists give Logan and CTU a 15 minute deadline before they kill Derek at approx. 9:25 on screen time. Jack doesn't blow up the guy's vest as a diversion until about 9:45 on screen time.

    • In this episode, Jack's phone is a Treo (a Palm-powered phone). Cellular service is provided by Sprint. In the following episode, he has a flip phone.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Martha: You know, in three seconds, Mr. Burke. I am going to scream louder than any woman you've ever heard in your life.

    • Jack: Understand this, Bill. I don't work for you. I'm staying inside. You want my intel, fine. But I'm doing this my way.

    • Buchanan: Were you able to identify the terrorists from the photos Jack sent?
Edgar: Still no matches on the watch list. I tried three different coding arrays.
Buchanan: Did you try widening the parameters?
Edgar: If it was any wider, we could use the phone book.

    • Buchanan: You managed to rack up four protocol violations.
Chloe: (helpfully) Well, it's a lot worse than that if you count agency doc codes. It's more like twenty-six violations...do you want me to figure out whose face that is? ...or I could just wait in holding.

    • Buchanan: With all due respect Mr. President, we don't have time.
      Logan: Then talk faster!

  • NOTES (1)

    • As of this episode, Jude Ciccolella (Mike Novick) is the longest running guest star on the series with 41 episodes. Mary Lynn Rajskub held the previous record of 40 before being promoted to a series regular at the beginning of this season.
