So.. we have Audrey now safe and she is in CTU and they need information from her but she is not even talking much, not mentioning making sense - so Nadya goes along with something fatal - and Jack comes in right time to get Audrey and then she says out the right thing - a clue, what they can work on.

On White House - some drama going on. That staff person.. what ever her name is - she is playing a double game and more dangerous than she first realize and thanks to her Russians learn that Chinese have the chip..

Moving on to one of the better episodes of these final seven, Audrey's gone catatonic, and to make her better, new CTU Director Nadia allows some injections that may instead kill her. So Jack stops the doctor and tries to make Audrey talk via his own gentle methods. Inner-CTU drama usually isn't this good.

Take the O'Brian couple; after Chloe's remark last episode, Morris dumps her. I wouldn't feel invested in this breakup even if it lasted long enough to actually count as a breakup. If you're miffed that I spoiled that, learn the art of prioritization!

Let's talk bigger: Suvarov threatens action against the US because he knows about the chip. Lennox finds out how: Lisa is sleeping with a secret Russian spy. Now it's Daniels' turn to become a sympathetic character, and the transformation is effective even if derived from an utterly moronic plotline. And it's bound to become even stupider, I tells ya.

The biggest thing to splendor is CTU. Though Audrey's info doesn't pay off that well (thank you, spontaneity), we get great moments with her, Jack, Doyle, Nadia, and James Heller. CTU-wise, this may be the season's finest hour. Plus, the theme of love is all over this episode. I can't say it works as well as it could have, but Jack and Audrey locked in a room with guards trying to break in? Worth it.

    Hourly Highlight:

Heller giving Jack the verbal smackdown? Worth it.
  • Jack manages to make Audrey talk , and offers CTU their only lead towards Cheng's whereabouts.

After Cheng manages to flee, Doyle brings back Audrey and Jack to CTU...here they face a dilemma, about which treatment to give to Audrey to make her talk...Seeing the danger , Jack convinces Doyle to let him escape and do what he must so as to make her speak...Interesting development of the character Mike Doyle...At first he is presented as a ruthless professional, willing to take any steps necessary to get results...These last episodes present him as a person with a heart..Jack manages to make Audrey speak, and gives CTU their only lead to capture Cheng, and recover the nuclear component...VP Daniels secretary turns out to be involved with a guy who is a known Russian spy...So Daniels must take the necessary steps to avoid a another World War.

This season has been my leat favourite of all time and it just isn't interesting anymore. The story is too farfetched even for 24 and actually the story should have ended 3 episodes ago.

Audrey is brought back to CTU and the ever weak Nadia approves an over zealous psychiatrists very dangerous treatment. Jack and Doyle work together to stop this and the the Russians find out about the Chinese because of a leak in the White House. That's it for one hour...not joking at all.

This season has been full of episodes where absolutely nothing happens and somehow the characters are all uninteresting - even the ones that were last season. Very odd. This episode is just another in the season, nothing special and nothing lost or gained.

A few positives though. The character development with Doyle is very good, he is becoming one of my favourite characters on the show. Chloe and Morris finally come into the open and that's good as well, Chloe's reaction is fantastic. Kim Raver's acting is fairly good at playing a catatonic woman. Problem is, this is all stuff from House, not 24.

Some of the die hard 24 fans who will say it's a fantastic show even if Jack shows up with a sword and shield will disagree with my review but it's true.
  • Great episode.

CTU loses track of Cheng. Audrey is taken back to CTU with Jack. Nadia approves an interrogation technique that will help get some useful intelligence out of her but the technique is also fatal to her. Doyle helps Jack stop the interrogation from taking place. Daniels receive a threat of war from the russians after they found out that a circuit board from the nuclear warhead fell to the hands of a Chinese agent. Tom Lennox launches an investigation that leads them to a mole working inside the white house. This episode is really exciting, it's leading to something really awesome, I can't wait for the next one.

This season had so much promise, but like season five, it blew its load too early. That’s what she said. 24 is suppose to be my hour of pure adrenalin fueled action. If I wanted to watch a soap opera, I would turn to Grey’s Anatomy. A large part of the episode is wasted on pointless interpersonal drama. Morris is unable to get over Chloe’s insensitive comments. After being married to the woman for years, surely he should have developed a tougher skin by now. Her criticism in the bedroom alone could make even the strongest man go flaccid with self-doubt. Unable to get transferred out of Chloe’s department, Morris decides that he is breaking things off for good. President Daniels chief of staff revels that she has her own agenda in play. She has secretly been sleeping with a lobbyist and feeding him information. If anyone understood why she was working with him or what she intended to gain from their relationship, please email me at idon’tcare.com. The layers of intrigue get more convoluted when it is revealed that Lisa’s boyfriend isn’t just a lobbyist, he is a Russian spy.

Now that the Russians know that Washington dropped the ball on this one, the pressure comes down on CTU to produce immediate results. A medical expert is brought in to help interrogate Audrey and bring her back to reality. Doyle and Jack don’t trust the doctor who seems disturbingly willing to sacrifice his patient’s health. Doyle helps free Jack long enough for him to get Audrey to mumble one word. CTU will be able to turn this single word into tangible results in mere minutes. The speed of the government astounds us all.

Parting thought: The following takes place between 6-7 PM; Jack Bauer takes a dump all over this season.

  • With each week that goes by, and we get closer to the Finale, this episode showed us we can expect a outstanding finale.

In this episode, VP Daniels seemed to be more of a good guy and came to some serious realizations about himself. He thought he had all the right answers and that all the decisions he was making for the country were spot on. After this episode he saw it differently, and was man enough to own up.

Lisa ends up betraying the VP, willing or unwilling, she screwed up big time, and deserves it....she needs to go away.

I'm starting to like Tom Lennox.....seemed like a little jerk earlier, but as the season has progressed, he seems more honest, but more importantly, he's a little humbled and not so arrogant. In this episode, with the VP telling him about his affair with Lisa...Tom's reaction was priceless, but was handled nicely.

It seemed Nadia grew a pair as the Temporary Head of CTU, with a little help from Doyle. Certainly dont want to see her as the long term Director, but nice to see she can make the right call when it counts the most.

I'm liking Doyle more and more every week. Somebody that understands Jacks point of view is nice to see, especially since Jack doesn't have anybody anymore....their either fired or dead. Keep it up young Doyle.

Jack was in typical form this week....throwing doctors against the wall, knocking out CTU Security Guards. Jack's emotional side came to a head this week, trying to reach Audrey deep inside herself to get to acknowledge him, you could see Jack's pain and anger for what Audrey had gone through.

The ending with Heller showing up, and what he said to Jack at the end about "Everything you touch ends up dead"....Heller can sit-down and SHUTUP!!!! After everything Jack has done.....did not like the way that ended.

This episode brought back the real dramatic side of things with VP Daniels admitting he screwed up, to Jack's personal pain with Audrey and from what Heller said to him. It gave us a chance to reconnect to Jack on a personal level and setup some real emotion.

Great emotinoal episode that left us with 1 burning question.....WHERE DID CHLOE GO????
  • I could have gone with "Average" or "Filler episode" but I have to go with "Nothing happened" as nothing did.

Okay. Here's the stuff that actually happened:

    1. The Russian government calls up the White House and threaten military action for letting the sub-circuit board into the hands of the Chinese.

    2. There's a leak and it's discovered within the hour. I wonder if they informed Nadia to call off Internal Affairs at CTU. Play toy Lisa Miller is used by her lobbyist boyfriend, Mark Bishop and now will be used by the Secret Service. I'm not sure why they don't just arrest Bishop and force him to reveal to his contacts that the sub-circuit board is found. Instead, they need to rely on Lisa to trick him. 3. Morris calls it quits with Chloe.

    4. Jack is arrested. Doyle helps him "escape". Jack gets through to Audrey... maybe. Jack get caught again.

    5. Nadia grows some kahunas after letting authority walk all over her at first.

    6. Cheng uploads the sub-circuit to some unknown person, but there's a problem. Now they need someone with the necessary expertise. Enter Morris version 2.0. Probably Philip Bauer.

    7. Former secretary Heller arrives and tells Jack that he's cursed. End of episode. No cliff-hanger ending

    So where are we now?

Jack is at CTU being held in holding.

    Cheng is still at large.

CTU is "maybe" one step closer to finding him.

The Russians are moving their troops within striking distance of an American outpost.

So nothing happened. The wheels are spinning. Should start to move next episode with the new lead they got and should get interesting with the Bishop angle.

It used to be that We were on the edge of our seats in every of any oepisode. Alas the thrill is gone. Yes there are some tense momemts but no matter how good the writers are( and they are good) it is impossible to come up scenarious week after week that have not been done before or in other shows. That said, there were a few twists in the relationships at CTU. Bringing thr father back to tell Jack to stay away from Audrey will just make him more determined not to obey. When has Jack ever listened? Then when he proves to a hero the father will eat his words.
  • While not great, 1-2 AM is at least better than the two episodes before it.

    "Great"
Like most fans, I have been a tad dissapointed with 24 this season, espicially with the last few episodes. Thankfully this episode was actually a little better with some good character development. We saw some good development in particular for both Doyle and Nadia, and the exchange between Jack and Audrie was touching and excellent acting on Kiefer's part. The scene between Clhoe and Morris was wrenching, but also something where it was like "oh finally" considering the've been dragging their breakup over the last couple episodes.

The stuff with Noah's aid was somewhat predictable and generally the weakest point in the episode. I mean, how many government leaks can you have in one season?
  • another leak in the government....how original

I dont like picking up on plot holes and stuff on tv shows however considering the bland writing this season on 24 i had to pick up on this episode. I know also while watching 24 you have to suspend a bit of reality however

1.Another leak in the government again! (im sure every season of 24 has now had a leak/mole in the government or ctu at one point)

2.After getting pumped full of drugs and possibly tortured by the chinese somehow all it needs is 5mins of jack bauer talking to get something out of audrey?

    3. When mike dolye was introduced he was a by the book non sympathetic guy, however in a few short hours he has changed completely

Im starting to lose interest in 24, this season has been so mixed with episodes ranging from good to just plain bad. I hope season 7 can mix it up
  • This was one of the best episodes of the season. The scenes between Jack and Audrey had me in tears. Awesome acting from Kiefer and Kim on this one.

    10
    "Perfect"
The whole episode was very interesting and flew by in no time. The conversation between Morris and Chloe in the hallway was another of the highligts. Chloe was way out of line when she accused Morris of helping the terrorists, but she really feels sorry for it. I hope there will be a way for Morris to forgive her. :(

I can't believe I actually start liking Doyle! I didn't want to! I think Nadia was great in this episode. She wants to do her job as good as she can, but she's no Bill and everyone let's her know exactly that. But it was great how she stood up against Karen. Karen really should reinstate Bill, I want to have him back! As I said in the beginning, the real and absolute highlight of the episode was the scenes between Jack and Audrey. They have so much chemistry. Jack trying to reach her, trying to connect her was amazing. Kim did such a good job with her part. Nearly saying nothing, but telling everything with her mimic and her eyes. Jack talking about being in China gave us a little bit of insight how horrible it must have been. When Audrey finally reaches for his hand, I was in tears. *sniff*

The absolut shocker came at the end, though. Audrey's father telling Jack he will not allow him to see her again, because he's cursed and everyone dies around him. SO cruel! Of course I can understand where this is coming from. Heller appreciates Jack's work, but he wants to protect his beloved daughter from harm. Still - has he any idea how much he hurts Jack with that? I hope Audrey can articulate her wishes as soon as possible. I doubt she agrees with her dad in this.
  • They did this one already.....but they did it much BETTER than this.

    7.5

You know, I must say that the whole staff at 24 has been in my opinion, stellar up until this season so I knew they would eventually slip a little. lol Even Michael Jordan bombed once or twice. These guys are doing some of the hardest writing in tv. Real-time is undoubtedly VERY difficult to not only write, but to also make every moment interesting. However, this IS the show they created and so they must maintain the high standard they've set for themselves. That being said, season 6 has been entertaining, but no where near the "24" Level. This season has the sense of just draaaagging along. First off, they put their best efforts in the first half or so of the season. BIG MISTAKE!! I mean they actually detonated a NUCLEAR Bomb!! ...when I saw this my first reaction was "Oh my God..wow..I can only IMAGINE what the rest of the season will be like."..and THEN......nothing. -or at least nothing to compare to the ride I was just taken on in the first story of this season. Why oh why did they do that? I mean thousands of people have died from that huge nuclear explosion and now I'm supposed to be ultimately invested in the live or die situation of Audrey Raines(I mean, I like Audrey but she's not even ON my favorite character list). And the Chang with the chip situation is ok, but there seems to be no IMMEDIATE threat. No real sense of 'hurry before its too late'. Chang hasn't even made clear WHAT he wants to do with it and where. That whole situation is just backwards to me. If they planned to actually set off a Nuclear Bomb and only ONE nuclear bomb, then they should have let this season at least lead up to it and make the ride there more interesting. However, at this point with only 4 episodes to go, I think even ANOTHER nuclear bomb detonation wouldn't bring this season back up to "24" status. Also, the White House is so dull this season. Wayne Palmer was just not a good choice to be the President this season. They set him up previously as David's little brother and aid. It was just too big of a jump to see him in such a powerful position and then to knock him out of play for such a huge part of the season is just not helping. I honestly feel like we've had no REAL president this entire season. I mean he was no David Palmer, but even Charles Logan was more interesting. Plus even Wayne's sister was so deeply written into the first half of the season and now she is nowhere to be found. I really had the feeling that her story was going somewhere-especially when she deleted all of those personell files. But, oh well. lol I feel like this entire season, while having it's moments, is still a little 'Out of Character' for 24. I mean if they are going to change the entire format of the show or something, then I would go along and trust them, but if they insist on repeating and recrafting the same storylines or situations, then GO FOR IT! Give us more DEEP situations and decisions for the President, give us more interesting and intriguing moles, give us more chasing after the terrorist(and I don't mean like CHANG who must be out of his mind going personally to drop-offs and prisoner exchanges), give us more kidnappings and rescues, give us more actual interrogation-torture scenes and situations, give us more promises and bluffs from Jack to the terrorists and corraborators, give us more life-altering even life or death, self sacrifice decisions for Jack to make with no time to think, give us more.......give us more of the 24 we know and love-or give us something new. I'm not saying that they are not doing a good job, it's just that in their case, a GOOD JOB is not sufficient. I'm spoiled-it has to be GREAT! But like I said, I knew it would happen. I guess no show can be great ALL the time. I'll definitely watch the next season no matter what because I'm still a fan-and while not GREAT this season, 24 is still good tv. But with so many new shows coming out all the time, they can't afford to let another season get away from them.
  • We see the reaction of Audrey to Chinese torture. Jack is back in hot water with the government.

    6.9
    "Fair"
Audrey has been broken down by Chinese torture tactics and it seems the only person able to reach her is Jack, but not without significant risk to Audrey's psyche and safety. Ultimately Jack is able to get something (location) out of Audrey before the forces of C.T.U. converge on him. In an interesting twist Audrey's father meets with Jack at the end of the episode demanding that Jack no longer ever see Audrey blaming her predicament entirely on Jack.

I would find it hard to believe that Heller is still a Secretary in the President's cabinet since it is highly unlikely Wayne Palmer would be in the same party as the previous administration. Also it wouldn't make sense that as a high ranking member of the cabinet he would be in Los Angeles when the rest of the cabinet is located in Washington.

All we learn of the Chinese is that their plans to undermine Russian security has been seriously set back by damage to the chip. I feel this is all to set up an exciting finale to this season.
  • Kind of a filler episode leading into yet another great finale of 24... Can't wait.

    9.0
    "Superb"
A filler episode leading into the finale but with what he writers had to work with it was a good episode. They had to put Jack in custody for at least 1 episode. Obviously next episode he will get free to do his job again.

I think the scenes with Jack and Audrey was very good. She is a very good actor and almost makes it seems as if she really has this type of disorder. Again, this season is showing the more human side of Jack Bauer.

A very predictable mole in Lisa. Everyone knew it was her. Tom Lennox continues to grow and comes up with the sting operation... looking forward to that.

The whole Chloe, Morris thing is not very good. It's pointless and I really don't like it. Nadia is not fit for the director job and she knows. She asked for Bill back. Not much confidence in herself. i think Doyle deserves it. He is also starting to grow into one of my favorite characters. He is not always going by the rules anymore he is trusting his instinct. He will grow into one of the main and well liked characters soon.

I was very upset with how Heller acted towards Jack. I mean Jack has saved his life and his daughters life multiple times and for him to treat him like this is ridiculous. From the looks she is curable and it wasn't Jacks fault she went looking for him. I was disappointed in Heller.
  • I don't think I've written a review of 24 before....untill now. This, in my opinion, was one of the BEST episodes of season 6 and it's purley for the emotional aspect.

    10
    "Perfect"
24 used to be about pure emotion, where you not only get sooooo emotionally involved, but you also get attached to the characters that you can't bear to not have a reaction. Well, season 5 (together with 1) was the Best in that respect but season 6 hardly had any (and I don't mean characters that just come and go, I mean characters that we know have a history with Jack) but this one did. Any 24 fan would have loved the scenes with Audrey and Jack, they were gripping! It's amazing how a simple but great script and Fantastic actors could make such a brilliant show, without having to explode things for a lasting impression. I really loved this episode because it made me feel so sorry for Audrey; I really believe that what she went through was hell. I also loved the last bit when Audrey's father tells Jack that he is cursed (you gotta feel it for Jack but it is kind of true) and again you feel emotional.

A great episode that deserves a 10/10, ONLY because season 6 of 24 could not deliver the emotionally charged impact and this one did!
  • Pretty good episode set mostly in CTU

    9.3
    "Superb"
I can see why some people think this was a little bit of a filler episode but i disagree, we found out quite a lot of important stuff. For one think Audrey Raines may be ok, she spoke to Jack so that is a good thing. I was shocked when Morris broke up with Chloe but is aw it comming. Also Nadia and Doyle get a little closer. I liked the white house story this episode becuase we find out Lisa could be a spy. It turns out she is not but she could be important in the closing of the series. So with only four episodes left i wonder how they are going to answer all these questions. And James Heller was very cold to Jack by saying everything dies around him but it is very true. I thought Heller was dead but i guess not. Overall a pretty good episode i hoep next week is a really good one.
  • Where are the moles this year? Oh, here's one. A small, very very small one unfortunately.

    6.2
    "Fair"
Like the last 16 episodes, too much is explained. The writers don't leave many things open (they only bring in characters like Phillip Bauer, Charles Logan to just forget about them again). 24 used to be about Jack - his personal life, his prior to- and early CTU work -, about the White House, but this season lacks one thing which has always made the show much more interesting: moles. Who can you trust? Tony Almeida was a main suspect for many people during the first season, the whole Nina Myers-chronicles were great, the great off-the-book plan between Gael, Tony and Jack which came out far into the third season. Do I have to mention Charles Logan?

This episode tries to get some of the mission impossible elements into the show, but it doesn't really work. Lisa, although gorgeous in an ice queen kind of way, isn't a main character. So she sleeps with someone that's working for the Russians. Give us something better. The things that seemed a bit far-fetched were the sudden emotional speech by Noah to Tom. Noah, being the big angry rock suddenly opens up to Tom, who's still got some inconvenient evidence against him. Besides, there's never been a big passionate love affair between Noah and Lisa, so I don't really buy it.

Second thing: James Heller. Great to see him again, and not like Noah a bit out of character, but they should've cut his 'Jack, you're cursed'-line.
  • Outstanding writing and acting all the way around in this episode. Looking forward to the remaining episodes.

    10
    "Perfect"
This has to be one of the best episodes of Season 6. It was effective because of its pure emotional impact and character development. The White House scenes were particularly well written and acted. The confrontation between VP Daniels and Lisa was excellent. Powers Boothe is a great actor.

For the most emotional impact, the scenes between Jack & Audrey were beautifully performed. Kiefer & Kim Raver have such great on-screen chemistry; you couldn't help but be emotionally affected when Jack was trying to help Audrey remember. And of course the last scene between James Heller & Jack was fantastic.
  • Jack tries to make contact with Audrey while CTU tries to get her well so they can extract information from her. The White House realizes someone is leaking information from the inside.

    6.0
    "Fair"
All in all not my favourite episode by any means. It was interesting and kept your attention for about an hour. But the whole way through I found myself questioning things. Such as how it seemed Lisa was playing Daniels as if she was pretending to go along with his agenda and having an affair with him even though she is with the lobbyist Mark Bishop. However it turns out Lisa doesn't know that he's working for the russians. So i don't know someone help me out as to why playing Daniels did she think she was helping out Bishop? Perhaps I just missed that part or something. Also another thing that didn't make much sense to me especially after all that Jack has done and the sacrifices he has made Heller flips on him and warns him to stay away from Audrey. That made no sense to me as how is Jack responsible for Audrey's actions she is a big girl yes? ok just checking so therefore she makes her own choices. Jack was on his own willing to die before he talked he never requests anyones help let alone Audrey to come searching for him. So other than those two things i still thought it was an alright episode. It moved things along well as the Chinese will need help overiding the security of the component and Doyle listens to Jack and does the right thing and convinces Nadia to eventually do the same. As Nadia stands up the psychologist from District who does not want her to speak to Jack. However Jack does get the word Bloomfield out of Audrey. Thus providing CTU with a strong lead regarding the whereabouts of where Cheng and his men are operating. Next week looks alot better though. Hopefully it is.
  • Not so much an action packed episode but a great one nonetheless

    9.5
    "Superb"
Really good... i dont think season six has had many of those emotional moments where you really feel for jacks misfortune but this was up there with jack phoning kim to tell her hes the one piloting the plane with the nuke on board... especially rounding it off with Hellers threat to jack at the end there ... i mean cursed!! Thats what jack gets for rescuing him from being beheaded on live tv... ever since he punched jack and took the henderson recording iv never warmed to that guy again!

hopefully more development on that in the 24 movie... i heard Kim Raver has signed up for it so most likly this Jack Audrey Heller triangle will resolve itself then...

anyway... i dont see how people could have really disliked this episode.. just shows they only go for the explosions, shootouts and torture scenes hehe not that i dont too hehe but this episode really took it back to the Jack - this is personal level.
  • Not bad...

Yes this was a filler episode but it was pretty good. If any stargate fans watched this episode they probably noticed Michael Shanks in this episode, It would have been cool if he had gotten a little more screen time though. The doctor treating Audrey wants to do something to her that could kill her, but Jack puts a stop to that. Jack must not have chocked Doyle out to good because he got right back up after about 5 minutes. I liked how Daniels didn't really play a bad guy in this episode. I've haven't really seen any other episode with James Heller but it was cool to see William Devane on the show again, I was hoping he would have more screen time as well. I didn't think he would be an idiot to Jack, what he said about everything that Jack touches dies, that was just cold. Jack never asked Audrey to rescue him. Later...
  • Despite being another "filler episode", 1:00-2:00 a.m. is among Season 6's better offerings.

    7.5
    "Good"
Last week, I noted that most of Season 6 has been paramount to the writers running out of ideas and finding ways to tread water until the season finale. 1:00-2:00 a.m. is no exception; yet, this episode is probably the best since Wayne Palmer's assassination attempt. Why? Three reasons:

    1. V-P Noah Daniels--generally a Powers Boothe caricature for most of the season...played by Powers Boothe, no less--is finally being allowed a little character development. Last week, his relationship with his assistant was revealed, which instantly made him, if not likable, at least human. That small touch paid dividends this week, when it was revealed that the assistant was unknowingly aiding a Russian spy. Daniels, rather than covering his relationship up, openly admitted it, confronted the assistant, accused her of treason, and coerced her to help foil the spy (presumably next episode). This illustrates Daniels's loyalty to the country is genuine, and not of the "destroy the country to save it"-ilk of Season 5's Logan and Henderson. While Daniels may still be somewhat of a jingoistic jerk, it is nice to see shades of gray sneaking up on his character.

    2. Audrey's "amnesia" is being played more as post-traumatic stress, which makes her storyline, if not original, at least seem less desperate. The brief appearance by former Defense Secretary Heller also allowed a classic William Devane delivery of a line that ALL of us have been thinking to ourselves over the past few seasons:

"You're cursed, Jack. Everything you touch, one way or another, ends up dead."

I'm sure many people are rooting for Audrey and Jack. Personally, I found them much more interesting as a beleaguered couple unintentionally destroying each others' lives. The post-traumatic stress Audrey may be relatively weak as a 24 storyline, but it does bring some good sturm-und-drang.

    3. Morris telling Chloe "It's over." Good for you, Morris. One of Season 6's most disappointing elements has been the "disappearance" of Chloe. Oh yeah, she's there, she's working....but she hasn't really had anything to do other than the usual CTU scut work. What happened to Chloe this year? Did she want time off? Why has she been relegated to the sidelines? No matter, I can rant about Chloe's overall role later. Morris calling it quits gives us an opportunity to watch Mary Lynn Rajskub really act. Sure, we love Chloe as an insensitive, compulsive harpy, but the small moments of insecurity and heartbreak have really endeared her character to a lot of fans. Let's hope the writers, with three episodes left, can really get her back into the action.

Other than news of the leak to the Russians, there was no real plot development this week. I think the writers are setting us up for a showdown between Jack and Cheng for the last episode, which hopefully will resolve this storyline once and for all. Next season, 24 will need to get its creative juices flowing again in order for the fans to stay with the show.
  • Can this be? Am I...am I actually starting to ENJOY 24 again? Impossible!

This is the kind of writing I wish we'd gotten all season.

You've got a fair share of action. You've got some genuine character moments - GENUINE, mind you, not the manufactured crap we got earlier this year. I'm warming to Daniels as President. Now that he's not an adversary to Wayne anymore, he doesn't have to wear the villain hat (although a skilled writer could've made him an adversary without making him a blatant villain) he's more sympathetic, more human, more...real. Simple as that. He's believable now; he's not just a charicature as he was in his initial appearances.

And - get ready for a shock here - I'm starting to warm to Doyle, as well. He's still kind of a generic CTU Field Agent, but he's slowly but surely being fleshed out, and depicted as a guy who can be counted on to do the right thing. I wouldn't put him in the same arena as Tony or even Curtis yet, but he's starting to come into his own as a character.

The Jack/Audrey plot this week was probably the best stuff we've seen from Jack in a while. THIS is the kind of character development I've been wanting to see all season - Jack dealing with what happened to him, coming to terms with it, and now using it to help another. I wish we'd gotten more of these kinds of moments during the Suitcase Nuke story. I was honestly suprised that Heller's return wasn't touted as more of a shock or grand entrance. He just sort of quietly appeared to be there when his daughter needed him. And I kinda like that.

Good episode. If we can keep this momentum up through episode 24, I'll be one happy camper.

It's not thatbad, but still... If it were the first or second season, it would be the best action series for me. But there's been 5 season before this, and it's starting to be too unoriginal. Two stories in one day is new, and I appreciate that, so I won't stop watching it, but I just need more than that. But I'm not even sure if that's possible at all, some years ago this real-time style was all new and groundbreaking, and without that, maybe it's not that special after all. We're gonna see, I guess. I'm sure giving day 7 another chance.
  • WOW season 6 of 24 has been 24s most criticised season, some reasons i've agreed with but this episode along with the past 10 episodes have been great, this episode was really an episode to get those emotion juices flowing and boy did it do that, WOW!!!

This episode of 24 was great. I really enjoyed the Lisa Miller storyline, the sex scene at the start was a bit of a shock but it was great to see 24 do these daring scenes for a change. For me the highlight of this episode was the final 20 minutes. The moment doyle started working with Jack was when i began to stand up in Praise "Jack Bauers Back and better than ever" the scene with Audrey was just so heart breaking, the jack and Audrey love theme from season 4 and 5 gentle played in the background and did actually get me a bit worked up, the moment she touched his hand i was off, great acting here. Then we were back again with the action when CTU got the boys down to break thier way into the room. Then we were faced with an excellent reveal of James Heller who most thought was dead. However his first scene wasnt what everyone remembers him for in this episode. He goes to jack and tells him to stay away from Audrey for good, and tells jack hes cursed and everything he touches ends up dead. WOW! and as we end the episode we see jack about to burst while most of us are left to do the same thing. A great episode with plenty of emotion and the right amount of action. The political storyline this episode was also very good, and yet again i enjoyed all the dialogue. Looking ahead to next week, the chinise are ready to attack, but what, and whatever it is a huge explosin errupts. 4 episodes left to go.
  • It's not Jack that's cursed... it's season 6.

    "Poor"
24 is gone. Season 6 has been horrendous, BUT AT LEAST, there seemed to be some sort of LIGHT at the end of the tunnel...

    There was nothing.

the recurring plotlines, the stupid plot twists, the boring political storyline continues in this episode, and gets even worse.

Character drama is VERY important. But lately, Jack's treated like a guilty man who assissinated presidents and betrayed his country.

I at least expected that sob Heller to congratule him... oh no. Stay away. Everything you touch ends up that.

You IDIOT. Jack sacrificed himself COUNTLESS times. He was ready to sacrifice himself for Audrey.

The political plotline isn't much better either. Tom is great, but the rest...? Eh...

Not much action in this one either, no LOGAN!!!! Morris is about to be written about BUT we know NOTHING if his alcohol problems have affected his job, nothing on Bill... it seems as if this seasons opens doors, and then forgets to close them.

I'm sorry that 24 has came to this point. I feel that this season is doomed... let's hope the 7th one will be like the old ones.
  • Some touching moments, and a good episode, but some things bothered me.

    "Great"
Overall I thought this was a pretty good episode, though it lacked in action and was packed with filler. I do like the character development: Daniels is turning human, and showing less of a desire to start world war 3, and has revealed his vulnerability (which is good, because I had trouble believing that the VP would be "evil"). Doyle is proving to be a worthy Jack Bauer-esque CTU agent, willing and capable of doing what he knows to be right - although why wasn't this evident in last week's episode when he was ready to stop Jack's plan? Seems to me they could have gone against orders and worked together. How does Doyle suddenly trust Jack so much? I guess it's because he realized his mistake and that Jack would have succeeded, even if it cost him his life. (Guess I just answered my own question)

Heller is back from the grave. Was I the only one surprised that he's still alive? I'll tell you why I was: once it became clear that Audrey was still alive, I would have expected the government to, out of respect to Heller, do SOMETHING to try and rescue his daughter, as opposed to just abandoning her. Whereas if he was dead, I wouldn't be surprised at those actions.

Damaged chip: convenient plot device...who will they recruit/kidnap for help fixing it? I hope we won't see the Chinese do the same thing that the Muslims did with Morris.

3 more weeks and 4 more hours to resolve this. Hopefully they will resolve the Chinese storyline, and maybe they'll go back to the family story next season?
  • Overall, this episode is a continuance of the ongoing attempt to give this season a dignified exit.

    "Fair"
With five episodes left of the season, the critics and fans have largely abandoned hope. Too much has been left dangling in the wind, and even the producers acknowledge the fact that many of the plot elements have been recycled and things have become stale. With all of that said and done, the season still has to close out, and one can only hope that the final episodes will allow the season to end with a sense of dignity.

As the episode begins, Jack is in a precarious position. Acting President Daniels has withdrawn support from Jack, especially in light of Cheng’s escape with the Russian decryption device, and he’s more than a little distracted by Audrey and her status. Of course, Jack is the only one likely to get through to Audrey, and the CTU psychological team is ready to unleash the Spanish Inquisition.

While Jack is still focused on Audrey, Mike Doyle continues to play his usual role as the maverick, acting directly on Jack’s behalf. If the producers have no intention of making Doyle a long-term member of the team, they have a funny way of showing it. Doyle is more than happy to give Jack a chance to prove himself right.

Speaking of Daniels, his conniving lover is revealed as working with someone else, using the over-eager executive to control domestic issues. Played by Michael Shanks (known well to “Stargate” fans), this new player immediately brings to mind Graem’s consortium from the end of the fifth season and their business interests. Unfortunately, this episode seems to suggest that the connection is just with the Russians, which is actually a bit disappointing.

Daniels himself is under the gun, thanks to yet another leak out of CTU and an ultimatum from the Russian president. The upshot is that the pressure is on for Nadia to find Cheng and the device. Rather conveniently, Cheng runs into a problem with the device, forcing him to find technical help. At this point, it’s an obvious delaying tactic, meant to give the writers time to position characters where they need to get by the end of the hour.

For all of Nadia’s lack of personality, her decision regarding Morris and Chloe is the right one, and it’s about time someone smacked down the melodrama in the office. (If only the writers would get the hint; the Morris/Chloe scenes were excruciating.) She’s also holding Jack accountable, which is technically correct but never a good move in an episode of “24”. Inevitably, that hardline attitude will prove devastating, because sound policy is often wrong when it comes to Jack Bauer.

Jack and Audrey have a sweet moment, and the shot of them joining scarred hands is a nice touch. Jack’s defense of Audrey is a bit overdone, and Nadia decides to trust Jack at a rather convenient moment, but all and all, it’s not a bad scene. Bringing Secretary of Defense Heller back for a scene with his daughter was another nice touch, and his demand to Jack is a great way to end the episode.

The final scene brings back one of the overarching themes of “24”: the personal cost of saving the world. Jack has lost nearly everyone over the years, and while she’s not dead, Audrey represents the most recent victim of that trend. Making that choice to sacrifice his own happiness for the sake of others is inherent to Jack’s brand of heroism. If the writers are trying to salvage some sense of that disappointing character arc, then this is probably a part of that process. But given the scattershot nature of the season arc, it’s impossible to tell.
  • It's the job (not Jack) that is the curse. SPOILER ALERT!!!

What a painful hour this was (feel free to interpret that any way you like). The bottom line is that Jack's life is totally in the bottom. First, Jack trades Cheng a nuclear weapons chip for Audrey's life. Then he gets arrested. Next, he suffers Nadia's power tripping. Finally, he's forbidden from seeing the woman he loves most.

I love this show for exactly this reason. It is very true that it's not Jack (or the people), but the job that forces people like Bauer to make these sacrfices. The most impossible choices like the ones make this hour and last hour demand respect and attention. Too long have we underestimated the power of Bauer!!!
