I liked this episode as I liked any of the 24 seasons. But I think I am getting used to the concept too much that I do not find anything exciting really.
    1. Chinese handing over Jack Bauer and president paying such a huge price for it only to give him away to terrorists. We do not know yet what the price was.
By the way how did he became president. Last time I checked he was just more like a mere assistant to Palmer. Anyway I can not comment much on that as I don't know much about Politics
    2. To say the least, he is not as good as David. My first impression was that he tried to act a president but he could not even come any near to Palmer or even Logan to that matter.
    3. So now we know that Bill and Karen are married and Chloe, is she back with her ex-husband yet? We do not know that for sure yet but what they have done together - I am surprised Bill did not do anything except yelling. They might have just sabotaged the deal, though by the end of episode we know that the deal was a fake one.
    4. The last part to the least made some sense - that the terrorists were using Asad to get revenge on Jack and also to continue their mission. Otherwise it would be absurd to know if the terrorists aborted their entire mission just for sake of Bauer.
    5. By the way the torture scenes seemed too much - I do not know for sure because I skipped those parts. The last scene though made me little sick - Jack killing a guy by biting his neck. Can not blame him - that was his only chance

Overall, if you have not seen previous episodes of 24, this seems like a great beginning. The terrorists continuing the attack - entire state in a panic condition.
I half expected that this season - at least to an extent will be shot in Japan - may be he will plan for some kind of prison break. I was surprised to see Jack being bought back to action immediately. Well, otherwise it would not be 24 - it would be titled prison break.
I do really hope they bring some fresh elements into the show this time. It feels that we have seen it all in last seasons.
The first episode sets the pace for it.

Yes, I just made a Kiefer Sutherland character reference and I feel quite ashamed.
And so starts another season of mayhem. In fact, we join said mayhem already in progress. Terrorists are blowing things up in the US, and CTU must trade Jack Biter—I mean, BAUER—for the location of the big bad Bigbad. Jack is returned to Los Angeles by the first commercial break, thanks to the negotiations of President…Wayne Palmer.
Meanwhile, Buchanan and Karen are married, Chloe's back together with Morris, Tom Lennox is one shifty Chief of Staff, Nadia Yassir is new at CTU, and Milo Pressman might as well be new. The suburbanite Wallace Family is also somehow important. The Bigbad is Hamri Al-Assad, whose underling Abu Fayed is offering Assad's location for the opportunity to kill Drac—I mean, JACK. The reason being that Jack killed his brother sometime ago. Also, Fayed's the real Bigbad (how'd I let that slip?!).
Not the greatest opener ever, but pretty sweet. S4 and S5 had the threats unfold without any formal setup, but S6 takes it further. With the premise of already ongoing terrorist attacks, this hour has an "already ongoing" mood. A s***load happens here, and it all feels like a midseason episode rather than an intro. Not that that's bad. And with tension, twists, and violence aplenty, how isn't this a worthy premiere?

    Hourly Highlight:
Doesn't look like Jack's getting long in the tooth. He's just as efficient at taking a bite out of crime. Seems that he'll easily sink his teeth into this season. Those terrorists better watch their necks. Or else Jack might just chomp the hell into them BWAAAAAH!!!!!

  • More violent and darker than you could expect.

This beginning of the new season of 24 is so solid and darker than you could expect.

I can say that is one of the darkest episodes of whole series. And my reason supports in the violence in the plot.

Your feelings are so darker and different from the other seasons. The plot is not very well explained and the writers could have invented a better history or a better reasons, due to i looked for a beginning as perfect as previous season starting.

And this one is worse than the last, but in a very good level. Also the phenomenal quality from the season five made us expected a new season with a greatness which is not fully here, and the suspense is not as terrific as the last season.

But another great things of this beginning is Kiefer Sutherland, like always, and the ending of the hour, so gory and shocking.
  • Solid beginning of the sixth season

    "Great"
The sixth season of "24" starts with a premise reminiscent of real world concerns about Islamic terrorism. A series of terrorist attacks has been invading the US for 11 weeks, and once again the only person who can stop this crisis is Jack Bauer. Only this time there's a difference, Jack is being returned from China after the unexpected cliffhanger of Season Five. Jack's appearance and evident psychological and physical damage is one of the highlights of the episode, as is Kiefer's performance, who proves again that he's the only actor born to be Jack.

"24" has gained the reputation of incorporating delicate terrorism threats, like nuclear bombs, biological weapons and now constant bombings, and I praise the bravery that the show has in showing all of this in such a realistic way. However, there's always a weakness. In this case, it's the aspect that myself and the other fans of the series have criticized, the unnecessary and stupid bickering between CTU employees, which is also more unlikely to happen during a major terrorist crisis. This is the only weak aspect in this strong episode.

Jack's torture scene is a little unnecessary, given that he has received this kind of treatment for the last twenty months. Fortunately, it's well done, although with a reasonable amount of graphic violence. More disturbing for several viewers will be Jack killing a terrorist like a vampire. (For God's sake). Like always but not at the same level as the fifth season opening, "24" gives us a great start to another promising season.
  • This season 6 premiere is very good, here you don´t have a poor family drama or an slow presentation, you already enters inside the problem. The news and the emotions played here was great. The situation itself it is interesting and complex this time.

Presentation Phase - » (10/10). At least, the presentation phase is interesting and perfect, a terrorist attack, new president, new villain, CTU with new characters and a traumatized Jack, they couldn´t do better.

Complication Phase - » (20/20). A terrorist that supposed has great informatics with him and a vital information and more stranger, that can manage to deceive everyone and to do his demands. I only rate this high because Jack situation is really Sad, I think being dead is what really could bring he peace. With a villain with so many powers over the presidency administration, the situation seems impossible to be solved and Jack fate´s seems certain.

Climax Phase - » Wasn’t the time for that yet.

Suspense/Tension - » (7/10). Maybe you were guessing how Jack could escape from Fayed, but the tension was traded more for sadness.

Drama - » (10/10). Poor Chloe and Jack, Jack situation is great, they only they rescued him because they need him, to sacrifice him for hope.

Action - » (8/10). You don´t have action here, but you have one explosion and some torture, is good enough for me for now.

Ending - » (9/10). What Jack did was new, very cool, at least, this ending is unique in 24.

Surprises/Shocks/Twists - » (9/10). Little surprises, Karen and Bill Status, Chloe and her boyfriend, new president and a traumatized Jack.

Time and Scene Management - » (9/10). For a season premiere, was hard to identify one or two scenes that was there to buy time.

Plot Details/Holes- » (8/10). I don´t Buy it. A terrorist that supposed has great informatics and technology with him and a vital information and more stranger, that can manage to deceive everyone and to do his demands, for now I will accept it.

What I liked -» Jack actual condition, remember me his beginning in the second season. All Jack scenes was great.

What I Didn´t Liked -» Hard to say

I rate it 9, this episode managed to be better the season 2 premiere, here you don´t have a poor family drama or slow presentation, you already enters inside the problem. The news and the emotions played here was great. The situation itself it is interesting and the situation is very complicated this time, for a season premiere, it is deserves a 9.
  • Jack is back...

So, Jack is back - he has been silent in almost two years and he is back only that they can trade him for terrorist and they could kill him for exchange for information.

looks simple? It is not as the information they are giving is wrong and in truth, they are behind it all. So we have lies, lies and more lies.

Some action on CTU, Chloe making mistakes.. some family whose neighbors father is taken into custody because they think he is terrorist.. not correct but not far from truth...

I do not know.. From season opening I was expecting little bit more.
  • Best premiere ever.

    "Superb"
This was and is the best premiere of 24 yet. This series jumps straight back into it. There is no gently gently for Jack.

Have watched the first two episodes and they are brilliant. Full of some shocks, some gasps of what happened in the break between season 5 and 6.

Once again it is the undertones of the characters that is the real pull here. Trying to see the changes that has occurred in the stars since the last season. How is Jack mentally after China? How have the others coped with the events in last season.

Basically the next few months of my life are now set with 24.

Agent Jack Bauer, after being taken prisoner by China 20 months earlier, is released under a deal arranged by President Wayne Palmer. Jack is immediately asked to sacrifice himself to Abu Fayed, who has offered CTU Hamri Al-Assad, who is believed to be the terrorist mastermind behind the suicide bombings of the last 11 weeks, in exchange for Bauer. Bauer finds out, however, that Assad is actually trying to stop the attacks, and Fayed is the true mastermind. Bauer escapes, rescues Assad, and then prevents a subway bombing in Los Angeles. Bauer & CTU then find out that the bombings of recent weeks were all designed to distract the United States from Fayed's true objective: the detonation of five suitcase nuclear bombs across the United States. At the end of the fourth episode, Jack is forced to kill Curtis Manning to keep Assad alive and one bomb is detonated in Valencia, north of L.A. I got this episode free with Prison Break season 2 so decided to watch it, it is the first episode I have seen since season 2 but it was decent, I liked it but we did not see much of Jack. 24 is still up to it's old tricks.
  • Jack is brought back from China as a sacrificial lamb for a terrorist in exchange for information! Day 6 begins!

I thought it was a strange sort of set up. I remember having heard in other series that "the US does not negociate with terrorists." Maybe this episode falls into the "Desperate times call for desperate measures" category. Anyway, Jack comes back visibly different, but he doesn't look that worn out physically - once they clean him up, hehe. Except for the very bad idea of negociating with terrorists, the episode was a good start for the season. Jack's escape was the best part, IMO, of course. :) Wayne Palmer comes across as a sort of weak president. Not like our initial glimpse of Logan, but more in that he seems to overthink things so much he gets lost among his decisions and the suggestions he gets. I was not glad to see Myles, but so far Karen Hayes seems to be handling him, and not letting him influence the president too much.

  • I've been watching 24 for a long time and I have to confess it's been a long wait since the last episode of Day 5.

I've been watching 24 for a long time and I have to confess it's been a long wait since the last episode of Day 5. I kept imagining what the writers would plot next that could justify a sixth season. How would they bring Jack back? Under what justification?

The answer is definitely well supported by a good plot. True, it may not please some people, but you can't please everyone. My advice to those who'd prefer a more 'realistic' 24 is: go watch a documentary. This is an action series and it has to be watched as such. Let the miracle of fiction and entertainment rule; it is here for enjoyment.

In the world of today, we all know how much a good break is needed. Watching this episode is a good way to relax. Until it ends, that is. After that, you can't stop thinking about will happen next. And that is the beauty of it.
  • A series of terror-strikes shake the public feeeling of security. The U.S. Government is forced to act accordingly. Some must be sacrificed for other. Jack is one of them.

    "Superb"
Jack's chinese-abduction scenario developed in the Season 5 finale was very difficult to allow for both a logical and coherent return of Jack to U.S. ground for the first episode of season 6. But they pulled it off.

I say logical since the Chinese seemed very unwilling to give Jack back - but it is generally known that there are possible arrangements that can be made. The Chinese would do that only if they had something grave to gain. It seems that they did gain something important - although we don't know at this point.

While it is very logical to trade Jack back to the U.S. it could seem very far-fetched that a terrorist commited to the cause of "the sacred war against west" would do something so self-centered as to ask to sacrifice Jack. Terrorism is so difficult to fight precisely because the people behind it avoid exposure at any price - especially revenge at a personal level. But what happens if one wants to build up credibility against that cause? Well, there must be something that he wants...and that is Jack.

This episode was great not because of its plot but because of its portayale of Jack. Confused, disoriented, confined, detached and distant...but then we realize that Jack is back.

this is what they follow Season 5 up with?

Wayne Palmer is President? No way

Jack is brought back from jail just to be killed....but gets better CTU/White House/Jack have no guarentee that they are not being played by Fayed...and guess what they are

even if they were not since when has the death of on Terrorist lead to the desctruction of the whole terrorist organization...if that were true Al-Quadia would already have been over 3 or 4 times already

How could people that took down the President last year be so stupid

Okay, I have been watching this series for a lot of years now, and basically I was addicted to it. I really enjoyed seasons 1-4 and then in the last episodes of series 5 everything went wrong. I really hoped that the 6 season will bring back the charm and glory of 24 but it was a very very sad episode. Everybody tried to guess how will Jack come back and you know what the writers of the series choose? probably the stupiest and un-original reason they could find. What the hell? Are you kiddin me? This is the best you could do?

In the past five seasons of 24 the season it hit the ground slowly and has to pick up speed. that is not the case this season as it starts out with a bang. It has been 20 months since day 5 and America has been attacked sevrel times in the past 11 weeks. The person behind the attaks says that he will give America the loction of the man that eveyone thinks is behind the attacks and one of those is Jack Bauer but he in a prison in china well the New Presindent say ok and trys to get china to give up Jack so they do but with out a price so after we give up Jack to him and he gives the U.S. and then the try kill Jack but then Jack turns into a Vampire and bits his gaurd frees himself and tells CTU and the Presindent that they have the wrong person but they donot listen then Jack goes a saves him Then he helps Jack and CTU as much as he can END

Everyone and their mom was excited about this episode after it aired because Jack leaned over and bit a giant chunk out of that guy's neck. It's disgusting, sure, but Jack knew that unless he did something very drastic very soon he would be killed and America would have been totally ripped of by that lying villain. Jack will not sit back and take that. I suppose the reason people locked on to that part was that there were no other surprises in the episode - we knew terrorists would terrorize and we knew Jack would live. But I sure am glad to have Jack back.
  • Some great surprises and some bad turns.

    9.1
    "Superb"
Three minutes into this season premiere I was already cheering and predicting that this will be one heck of a season. Peter MacNicol was the first great surprise. I love this actor, but so far I've only seem him play oddball characters. Seeing him now in a serious role with a lot of weight and power impressed me. I was impressed by the decision to hire an actor known for playing odd characters, and I was impressed by his performance. The second great surprise was president Wayne Palmer. I've always loved Wayne, even though he doesn't have David's high morals. It won't be the same as it was with David, but it's friggin great to have a Palmer in the drivers' seat again.

Then a couple of minutes later came the next great surprise. Milo is back! My favorite computer geek from season one! I have a couple of friends who have just gotten into the show after borrowing my DVDs, and one of them lamented just the other day over Milo not being in season two. Now he's back! Celebratory banana dance!

Sutherland impressed me as well in this episode. He did a great job in the scene where he is told he has to sacrifice himself. After everything he's been through he has to go through this on top of it, and he accepts. My guess is he remembers what happened to Chapelle in season three, and can't take any other course than the one he forced on Chapelle.

So Bill and Karen are the new Tony and Michelle? It felt a bit cheap that they used the same ring shot to show they're married as they did with the Almeidas.

I'm a bit annoyed that Morris is back. They don't need another Chloe like character; Chloe is an original and it works better that way. Chloe has become one of my favorites over the years, and I loved to see her show emotion over Jack in this episode. I just hope she won't get dragged down by Morris.

The big downside was the torture scene. We've seen Jack tortured before, we seriously don't need to see it again. Can't they please skip the torture for once?

Where season five opened with as many deaths and tragic moments as possible, season six has opened with a lot of good surprises and treats for the fans. Then it turned ugly again. Quite the shame, I was hoping for some good stuff along the way this year.

This was a really powerful beginning to a season, really! Awesome. I didn’t know weather this season of 24 would be that good but really I will never stop watching 24 after what just happened here. I was watching the football game (Pats vs. Chargers) and I didn’t watch the first ten minutes, which I heard were the most exciting ten minutes of day six! All in all though this was a great episode. You ROCK jack getting away from the terrorists like that WOHOO! Overall I would definitely rate this episode a A+ because it is one of the best start outs from 24 I have ever seen. Thank you to the producers for not stopping the productions of 24 you rock!

After a very long wait, season 6 finally arrives and it packs a punch. This season delivers with the usual 24 trademark action sequences. This first episode is really amazing. With a star studded cast, this season is surely made to impress, and I am impressed. Jack Bauer's long awaited return never disappoints. The hero is always doing something to stop the bad guys. This is what I watch this show for, action and lots and lots of action. I'm really impressed, the first hour goes off really fast but it satisfies my appetite, I surely want to see more episodes in the future.
  • A change from the normal premiers. We see Jack as we've never seen him before. It's an emotional episode that really addresses the character of Jack Bauer.

    9.9
    "Superb"
This was an episode that I was looking forward to for a long time. It didn't disappoint. The opening scene explains how there have been terrorist attacks happening for 11 months and that over 900 people have died thus far. This, in itself, is pivotal as it highlights a change of direction for the show of 24. Jack has not been around to stop the attacks before they happen, as Jack isn't here. The fact that so many people have died and that attacks have been going on for more than a year makes the whole idea seem slightly more real.

The first vision of Jack walking off that plane was difficult. He looked older, weaker, and fragile. The scars on his hands looked watery and thin making me feel slightly queazy and Kiefer Sutherland's portrayal of the emotionally battered Jack Bauer was fantastic. People criticised Jack for recovering too quickly, yet I think physically he had to - he had to get on with what he had to do. Emotionally, he was not recovered. Far from it. The time in China will have repercussions on his actions and decisions up until the end of epiosde four. I thought the way they brought Jack back was well written. There was no other credible way. Furhtermore, Jack's reasoning for giving in to the sacrifice was well argued: "I now get to die for something." A very important line, summing up Jack's feelings and how he withstood the torture in China. Though this episode didn't contain much action, per se (apart from the vampirical Bauer... Which made me smile), I think it was imperative that the writers address Bauer's emotional state of mind rather than fill the episode with bombings and action fights. This episode set the scene for the forthcoming three episodes in that it shows Bauer to be struggling and Kiefer's portrayal really sucks you into his emotional trama consequently evoking and perpertuating his traumatic state of mind.

Therefore, I felt it was a very important episode, making the groundwork for Jack's character and emphasising his weaknesses and illustrating how this Season is going to be different, not only because of Jack's character change, but also the nature of the threat. Well done, 24.

Wow. I am brand new to this show, and they pulled out all the stops in my first episode to keep me salivating for more. This episode has been sitting in my TiVo for a couple of days now, cause I was overwhelemed by the 2 hour length. I finally forced myself to sit down and watch it and that hour felt like 2 minutes I was on the edge of my seat so much. Drama, twists, and then Jack's escape... by BITING THE GUY'S JUGULAR OUT. SWEEEEET! I guess this episode is getting some bad press from Muslim groups that are upset. I think people need to chill out ... someone's gotta be the bad guy, and I gotta say, this storyline isn't that far fetched.
  • What a kill

With Jack relizing that his death maybe for nothing, he has to escape and what does he do...kill someone by biting their neck. WOW. Jack the vampire. This was the greatest kill of all time. But poor Jack he must have had a hard time not speaking for 20 months and the coming back to have to sacrifice his life must be heartbreaking. Wayne is a terrible president and the tom guy is the worst character ever, and how sweet Bill and Karen got married. And did Fayad's brother actually get killed or did he just make that up in order to take jack out
  • As with every season opener of 24, many things are different but a lot of it feels the same, and it's great!

    "Superb"
Overall I thought this was a really good first episode for season 6. Its easy to say that it wasn't as exciting as last years opening, but that's because you can't really top the shock of killing two main characters (unless they killed three) again. But besides the shock that last years opening had, I think this year the threat is more real and dangerous, and Jack seems crazier than ever. Heres more detail:

    SPOILERS

    Pros:

    - Starting the season off with a bus being blown up seemed to sum up nicely how chaotic the U.S. has been the last year

    - Jack with a beard and barely speaking at the beginning was cool, although he seemed to clean up and return to his normal self a little too quickly

    - Morris O'brien is very funny and a good match for Chloe, glad they brought him back

    - Tom Lennox is going to make for some...interesting storylines this year

    - Jack talking about being able to die for something

    - I like how Bill and Karen are married and how the president is actually in Washington for once and doesn't happen to be in L.A. like every other day - The mystery of what the U.S. actually gave up to get Jack back

    - Ahmed being a terrorist actually surprised me but I guess I should have seen that coming

    - The fact that Fayed is actually the guy behind these attacks and he's using the U.S. to kill Assad

    - Jack bit someones neck off

    Cons:

    - I don't really mind Wayne as president but its a little hard to believe he got elected

    - I liked Milo in season 1 but so far I don't really see why they brought him back. There's no explanation for what he's been doing the last 5 seasons and I don't really like him so far.
  • I love this show!

This show is incredible. Although it has it's moments where I've found myself thinking "Uh... yeah, right" it is one of my favourites and it just wouldn't be the same without Jack running around and calling in the favours from Cloey. This show keeps me on the edge of my seat like no other can, and I love that! It's great to see Jack back in action but I can't help but feel bad for the way his been treated by his country. If they ever decided to get rid of him it would be cool if he was finally pushed over the edge enough to be part of the other team! Could you imagine that? He's the best they've got but what if they were working against him? That would be some intense action going on there! Think about it!!

Plot: A series of escalating terrorist attacks has gripped the nation and we are Bauerless to stop them. Jack has spent the last two years in a Chinese prison and upon his return we are left to wonder if he is still the same man. Did I say man, I meant God!

Over the break, CTU has undergone some personnel face lifts. With Tony, Michelle and the lovable, yet mentally challenged Edgar gone, CTU was in bad need of some new blood. Enter Milo, Chloe\\\'s ex husband and Sophia. Don\\\'t worry though; while these three may not be our usual heroes they still maintain an adequate level of mistrust, animosity and superiority to keep the office functioning well. I would hate to be in charge of HR in that office. \\\"God damn it another mole, you have got to be **** me? Who is screening these guys?\\\" While Human Resources at CTU may have made some questionable choices in the past, they seem to have adopted a new hiring policy; only gorgeous women need apply. Seriously, did anyone else notice the extras walking around that place? I suggest this new policy be implemented throughout all government agencies; DMV I\\\'m looking really hard in your direction.

The lowdown this season is that the new President Palmer is forced to make a deal with the Chinese to get Jack out of prison so he can sacrifice his life for the good old US of A. Jack begrudgingly accepts his fate with only one request. \\\"I\\\'ve been gone two years and I need to know, is Gilmore Girls still on the Air? Oh dear lord, you mean WB and UPN merged. I must end my life as quickly as possible.\\\" Jack’s burning hatred for the CW TV network despite hours of quality programming does not appear to be the only problem with his mental state. The Chinese definitely worked him over good. Jack seems timid, his reactions are slow and believe it or not his thirst for violence may have at last been quenched.

The President has agreed to trade Jack\\\'s life for the location of the man they believe to be behind the recent attacks. Jack is handed over the terrorists (Abu Fayed) and is forced to begin his torture anew. Seeing as how he is about to kill Jack, the terrorist leader decides to spill the intricacies of his fiendish plot to him. You see the man he sold to the American\\\'s for Jack was a fake out. He is actually a reformist, come to America to stop the real head of the terrorist groups; Fayed! And now that I have told you everything let me just take this phone call. I\\\'ll be back in a second, all guards leave the room, except you, Ensign Jimmy, I mean Ahmed. Refusing to die a meaningless death Jack morphs into a vampire and rips the guy’s aorta out with his freaking teeth. Cause of death; Jack being a badass! Jack contacts President Palmer and tells him that they are about to kill the wrong man, but as usual, the President has surrounded himself with snakes and decides not to heed the gospel of Jack. Honestly, he has saved the world like 6 **** times already. Give him a little credit! Jack goes rogue and manages to save (Assad) the reformed terrorist right before the US military strike his base of operations; which by the way appeared to be a suburban house. I\\\'m glad the government decided to trust the word of a terrorist to give up the location of another terrorist enough to just blow up what could have been a normal house in the middle of suburbia. With Jack teaming up with the Assad and a Palmer back in the White House, this season looks very promising. In addition, 24\\\'s decision to run the entire series without interruption is a brilliant idea that I hope more shows start adopting.

Parting Thought: Kal Penn why do you hate freedom so much?
  • Up to a new level. [spoiler-alert]

The premiere of season 6 is fantastic. Season 5 raised the stakes for 24, but season 6 just raised them higher. Kiefer Sutherland's acting is amazing, impersonating a broken shell of a man tortured for 20 months in China. The balance between the awfulness of terrorism and the injustice of prejudice is great. Jacks brutality in his escape is surprising, yet he had no other choice.

The fact that the bombings have already started is new and gives a sense of reality.

On every level, specially Kiefer Sutherlands take on the character, season 6 is new in a pretty amazing way.
  • I was turned on to 24 over the Christmas holiday by my parents. They have made it their mission to rent and watch every season of the secret agent thriller throughout the final 4 months of 2006.

Being that I’m (in a way) caught up and am now a big fan I feel it’s my duty to report on the current activities of CTU agent Jack Bauer. As we remember Jack was kidnapped by the Chinese for events (I’m assuming) that took place in prior seasons. It is now two years since and the apparently worn out lead role has been returned to his homeland for unprecedented settlements and is being relied on for even more outlandish expectations.

As all I’m sure the loyal 24 audience is used to, there is a fresh man in office. This year it’s a new President Palmer and he has purchased Jack’s freedom from the Chinese. The president plans on negotiated with the shady Abu Fayed, Jack’s life for the whereabouts of the suspect in a series of bombings, terrorist Hamri Al-Assad. Oddly there is no objection from would be martyr as he has been looking forward to dying for a cause since his kidnapping some time ago. Hey months of torture will do that to a guy.

Fayed has a grudge with Jack from years prior. But thankfully resentment-riddled jerk has an ego. Before he can begin his revenge on the willing lead Fayed, as all evil masterminds must do, unfold his true intentions for the world. Of course this gives our hero a cause to fight for and thus comes the climax of the first hour. Jack takes a bite out of terrorism, literally.

With only one hour after being returned from a Chinese prison the star is thrown back into the mix of fighting to save America. It looks like it’s going to be one of those days.

  • Jack is in a bad place constantly and its beginning to catch up to him, which is kinda cool to see! But the whole situation is mostly propesterious, why would the Chinese now give him up 2 yrs. later? MAYBE they will explain that.

Also how did the U.S. government know Jack Baur was even alive, or being held by the Chinese another question they should answer as well why cant we the fans get some new C.T.U. agents in another state why L.A.(b/c the crew lives in L.A. AND r lazy, and the show is beginning to suffer for it)If L.A. had as many threats that it seems to have Martial Law would reign, at least out there in Cali. stay that way since the events of season 5. SINCE they like to change cast members like Jack changes focus on what threat to be focusing on, every other hour, why cant we see some new agents to help Jack out? I dont believe the White house staff would b naive enough to believe killing one terrorist leader of a movement would all of the sudden cause the subbordinates to wanna give up, highly unlikely for any terrorist movement. They would consider the dead leader as a marter and keep on with thier plans. It was even worse when the terrorists who made this unlikely deal w/ the White house and the staff would believe them enough to put things into motion , and would trust them even more than the newly freed Jack BAUR. When it turned out Jack was right and the terrorists working with the White house couldnt b trusted. I would think the writers would know better about making a more believable storyline than the one they gave us for the premiere this season, or maybe its another parody on the Bush admin., like last season. At this point also I dont know it its flattering or insulting to have Wayne Palmer as the president when he is going to obviousely go through the same horrendouse, backstabbing, nerve recking situations his brother went through only to b assassinated by some crazy radical in the eleventh hour. They only wanna make a brother president, so when all hells breaks loose and everything goes wrong they can say hey, see that wouldnt of happend if we hired Bob Dole. They should of parodied real life more and gotten a Boraka Bauma or a Hilary Clinton to be President than an inexperienced, never been a politician but a brother of an assassinated one who is the youngest President ever known to be Commander and Chief. It\'s beginning to look like noone wants the job of running this country b/c of all the constant attacks.

One more thing, when Jack left the house with the two middle eastern men wouldnt the helicopter pilots who blew up the building see Jack and co. running from the house, I mean the helicopters where so close?
