The two FBI agents involved in the Dubaku operation discuss about the plan to let him escape from the country, they have to take care of a problem; Dubaku's girlfriend, Marika, is being tracked by the FBI on her way to meet him. Sean discovers that Chloe is working with Bauer and Renee to track Marika's cellphone and plants a mike inside the room in which she is working to hear it all.



Bauer and Renee are being held by the LAPD due to a false warrant Sean sent to the police from the FBI, while Marika and Dubaku just meet.



Dubaku talks to Marika and believes that she trust him. so he take her with him in another car that is being watched from the traffic cameras in the street by Chloe back in the FBI. Chloe gives their position to Jack and Renee that are being released at this very moment, so they start a pursuit.



During the chase, Jack and Renee crash so Marika, in an act of bravery, takes the driver of the car down and they crash too, badly. The driver gets out of the car, and while he tries to pull his piece Jack responds and kills him. Jack takes out Dubaku while Renee tries to save Marika but she is dead.



The president, while in the hospital waiting for her husband's outcome, is informed about the success in Sangala's invasion but she is concerned about her husband's life and how she could trust him in the first place regarding the murder of their son, staged as a suicide. Bill Buchanan enters the room to tell the president about Dubaku and he urges her to go to the White House, which is the safest place for her to be until the situation is resolved and Dubaku is interrogated about his associates in the US Government.



Dubaku is being stabilized when Jack asks the paramedics to bring him around so he can question him. Threatening him with his family, Jack gets an answer from Dubaku, he has a list of people names that were working with him in the operation and finds a memory card inside Dubaku's rib cage that most likely contains this information. Jack asks a FBI pilot to use his chopper to take the memory to FBI director Moss ASAP.



Thanks to the mike planted in Chloe's room, the two corrupted FBI agents learn about the memory and the list so they plot a plan to bring down the serves right when Chloe downloads the memory into her station inside the FBI.



Chloe receives the drive with the list and discovers that it is a special kind of memory that erases the data while transfers it into the main computer so they only have one download. Sean and Erika are in the mainframe room setting up the servers formatting so everything will be wiped out, including the list that is being downloaded by Chloe. Since they only have a few seconds to escape the room after the formatting, Sean decides to kill Erika and frame her, shooting himself to aledge self-defense.



Chloe starts freaking out when the data is being erased and asks Moss for the mainframe room as soon as she understands this was deliberated.



Moss and Chloe get to the room in seconds and find Sean on the floor, with a bullet wound in the arm and Erika is dead. He frames Erika for everything and explains himself being in the room.



While Moss is questioning Sean about Erika's alleged actions, Chloe finds a way to recover the files from a mirror server she was using outside the FBI as a security measure. When Sean learns that, he tries to escape the building but is caught by Moss just on time.



Marika's sister, Rosa, asks for her sibling at the hospital, Renee has to tell her the bad news and Rosa's reaction affects her too much. She refers to Bauer and ask him if he doesn't feel the pain, even when his wife died, he tells her that is part of the job and if she doesn't want to live with it she should quit.



President's daughter, Olivia, meets her mother at the White House. They talk about Henry's situation and how things could be different if she believed him. Olivia wants to go to the hospital but her mother orders her to stay at the residence for safety.



Buchannan meets the president at the White House and brings her the good news, Dubaku's list has been recovered and special forces coordinated by him are taking action over the names in an inter-agency operation. Buchannan uses the gratefulness of the president and the good news to ask the president a favor, she must talk to senator Mayer about Bauer, since he was a hero in the recent events and he doesn't deserve going to jail. She promises that will think about it.



Bauer is seated outside the White House, thinking about everything that happened when Almeida appears right behind him. He tells Jack about a new conspiracy, not by Dukaku but by Juma himself. They have a very important target in DC, but he doesn't know exactly where is it. Almeida tells Jack that Senator Meyer's chief of staff was involved with Dubaku and should be on the list, but he doesn't think Meyer himself is involved.



Senator Meyer receives the call from the president so he has to go to the White House to meet her and talk about Bauer. He asks his chief of staff to join him but it doesn't look like a good idea to him, although he doesn't say a word. The chief of staff, Ryan, receives a text message in his mobile phone, he is being informed that the units are in place and ready for the operation.
