Kind of a lame prequel. It doesn't tell us much at all. I knew something was suspicious when those guys took Jack because in the Season 6 trailer the Chinese still have him.

yea the prequel not that good...still quite cool to see him again... notice how he doesnt utter a single syllable during the prequel... (i think..i only watched it once) its also more of a toyota asskiss than the last one... the way they revealed the car...as if its some big hero or something.

Nice Toyota commercial! But, hey someone's gotta pay the bills for this prequel.

I think the whole point of this prequel was to give us some closure on the Chinese storyline. That's why it has nothing to do with the plot in Season 6.

yea thats true... it can be learnt that SPOILERS

jack is indeed in China, held captive, being tortured for information. It def clarifies a lot of issues that were being debated when the finale of season 5 was shown.

I just hope they make this season better then season 5. To many deaths and it could have been made easier if you get what I mean.

Reasons for the prequel:
1. To completely cop out the awesome China storyline so that they can bring Jack back to LA in the actual premier
2. So that Fox can (as mentioned perfectly above) kiss Toyota's a$$ like never before.
3. Just to ramp up DVD sales.
Oh well, I hope the season turns out to be as good as we all hope it is.

They need to think of a better storyline and a new terrorist attack that has never been tried before like them attacking us and bombing us from the inside.

And after watching, that was shockingly bad. Just a chance to see Jack for 6 minutes. What was even the point? I love the fact they had a sparkling new Toyota RAV 4 under the camoflague netting. Uh, hope this new season doesnt turn into another Season 4.

I swear i saw another prequal on you tube which was a hell lot better a while back (it was diffently not 100% not fake) They were about to kill Jack after so months being caputered, when he wouldn't say someone's name then CTU arrived and quickly put him on a plane, but Jack made up false info to them and turned out they were not CTU, so Jack hijacked the plane and went to LA

I guess I'm the only one who actually enjoyed the day 6 prequel. I thought it was better than the season 4 and 5 prequels and I liked the neat littel twist in the end. But I agree that this prequel, just like the season 5 prequel didn't advance the story any further. All it did was update us on Jack Bauer's situation. It would be nice if they made a prequel that leads into the first episode of the new season. I guess they don't want anyone who hasn't purchased the DVDs to be left in the dark.

to the person who was saying they need a new way of a terrorist attack etc... i think this season has managed that.. at least partially judging frm the trailer. in previous seasons succesful attacks only seemed to happen in LA.. with the other plots round the country foiled. this time the attacks def seem more national.

Ok, although the prequel was a total let down i also believe it to be quite clever and it does leave clue's about day 6 start... Contains spoilers for those that aint seen the prequel yet!!!
1.) I believe that the 2 american commando's that come to get Jack are still working for the good guys and will be key to how CTU/President Palmer know where Jack is being held(more on this shortly). Like a double bluff if you like they work for "Evil chineese" dude take his cash and then report the location back to government when the "Sh@!" hits the fan on day 6 and the terrorists demand Jacks head in order to stop the attacks that have happened since minute 1.
2.) Jacks location is inside america without a doubt, few reasons behind this. 1). Evil chineese guy would not go all the way back to china and stay with Jack for 7 months just to find out the identity of the chineese agent helping america, he is responsible for china's interest on American Soil hence why he is hell bent on getting info from jack even though his agent says it will kill him. You can see he is under pressure, look how gutted he is on the trailer when he is handing jack back to CTU, its obvious america cut a deal with china but he does not look happy about giving him back. "He is no longer an enemy of China" he says but he failed his job on him 2.) Jacks condition is exactly as it is in the trailer so therefore the prequel is quite close to start of day 6. If day 6 starts another 11 months after the prequel then he would look much worse. 3.) He is being held in secret on american soil so that when it kicks off in the 1st hour of day 6 and the bad guys want jack he can be flown in within the hour to make his return towards the end of the 2nd hour of day 6. Now most will say bull, because you have to see jack in every episode, however opening night is a 2 hour special so effectively you will.
3.) The big question that must be asked is why do the terrorists want jack dead .... ? Seems quite personal that to me, as though the terror is not against america but in revenge? But revenge for what? Ill take a wild stab and say that the terrorists will be linked to MARWAN (Evil leader Season 4) maybe blood related and want jack dead because of the death of his brother. I also think that this plot will be sorted early in day 6 and bigger plot will be revealed then all roads point to Graham and his buddies getting ass wooped.
Well thats my 2 cents on it, maybe wrong but thought id share it with ya.
