this was just awful. Do the writers want me to hate their star hero? If i was doyle i would love to shoot jack in the face for the crap he is pulling. Is audrey's life really worth starting a war? She is a dumb hole who contributes nothing to anything. Even if she was worth rescuing why not get her through diplomatic means. I'm pretty sure chinese government types don't want a war with the u.s. and they aren't allowed to capture us citizens especailly the (former?) sec. of defense's daughter. I see no logic in Jack's decisions and i am viewing him as the show's villain right now. Daniels is right that you can't risk a war for one meaningless person. I remember when the show used to be creative and good with storylines. I even liked most of this season but this latest subplot is bbeyond any believability and all the others (president issues) and predictable and boring

I wouldn't call it one of the best episodes in the series but it is not nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Everyone wants action every episode and that just can't happen, especially after last weeks episode. What did everyone expect Jack to rescue Audrey and kill the Cheng in this episode. What would they do for the last 6 eps then? Not the greatest episode but it wasn't awful.

We get a "worst episode ever" thread every week. It's beyond tedious at this point.

You are right, it is beyond tedious, but unfortunately the message poster was right.  This was indeed the worst episode this time.  So predictible.  I've tried to stick with it.... but I am losing interest fast.  Will be watching HEROES next week.

Yeah, I think that 24 wasted an opportunity to take some of Heroes audience but instead it made people miss Heroes even more.

How could someone think this is the worst episode ever?  I thought the episode was not the best but it was still good.

Pulverizer you obviously don't understand the history of this show. Jack Bauer has stopped attempted assinations, deadly viruses, White House treachery and most recently a freakin' nuclear Holocaust and you're saying that Jack is the main villain? Listen how ridiculous that sounds! Have you ever been married or even HAD a girlfriend for that matter? If you have, then you would understand why Jack is doing what he's doing. Jack has saved the country numerous times and what has that gotten him in return? His wife getting killed, an estranged daughter, getting fired from CTU, a father and a brother who were behind all of the events that have unfolded the past two seasons, and most recently, getting kidnapped and tortured in a Chinese prison camp for two years and did the country do anything to find him? Nobody except Audrey. I think Jack has EARNED this right to rescue Audrey even if there's a possibility of the Chinese getting their hands on the nuclear component. Jack has saved everybody's backsides countless times, all I'm saying is I think he deserves a little trust.

That was a good episode. Not the best (10-11 was the best of the season) but good. Come on, does anyone think Jack will really give nukes to the chinese?? or any information that will start a war with Russia? Please! It's Jack. He's gonna find a way to make it right, you can count on that.

I don't understand how you can like Daniels.  Wayne starts having a seizure, and his first thought is "Good, now I can be president," despite the fact that he claims every episode to be a close personal friend to Wayne.

Because we want the season to improve, despite it being bad. Because we want to see future seasons, because each season is different and season 7 could be as good as past seasons. Just because we don't like one season doesn't mean we don't like the show. Did people who didn't like season 3 stop watching because of that season? Did people who didn't like season 4 stop watching then? No, because they had hope that future seasons would be better despite the lack of quality of that season.

I dont think most people like Daniels as a character, they just agree with 1 decision he made regarding terminating Jacks ill conceived operation.

Im wondering why Lennox doesnt turn his evidence (tape) over to Congress so Daniels can be impeached and  removed from office. Though Daniels made 1 correct decision that doesnt excuse his actions to commit perjury and get other to do the same so he could stage a coup to take over the Presidency.

Haha, maybe someone should create a rant thread for season 6 so all the people who are annoyed with this season can go there.

Well perhaps I'm just plain naive, but can that this information alone allow China to start a WW3? Obviously not, the best they gonna get to is perhaps some sort of diplomatic advantage over the Russian. For this, thing shouldn't be blown out of proportion and we should just enjoy watching Bauer get his revenge this time round. Somehow I do think that Audrey gonna be dead anyway towards the end. Bauer = Tragic hero, always.

Man every episode that does not have a severe climax or tons of action is the crappiest episode ever..  You must remember this is 24's 6th season, so yes some things may get old.  with the past seasons having so many twists, we have become desensitized to all this stuff.  If you are tired of it, then don't watch it and find something else :p
