      ADD TRIVIA
      • As The Bloodhound Gang's "Case of The One-Ton Jewel" reaches a climax, Vikki offers a mock bid of silver for the white dwarf. Her estimated value: ten cents. But where is Vikki going to get a silver dime? Due to the coin shortage of the mid-1960s, the U.S. Mint adopted copper-nickel clad for use in all its dimes and quarters dated after 1964.

      ADD NOTES
      • This is easily the least-scientific program in the entire series. In 1990, when CTW published the 3-2-1 Contactprogram guide, which correlated programs to an outline of scientific concepts, only two dents were made for this program. Both dents referred to science careers.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      ADD ALLUSIONS
      • Trini: You know, I feel like I've been run over by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Less than one month before this program aired, the Steelers won Super Bowl XIV against the then-Los Angeles Rams. It was Pittsburgh's fourth Super Bowl win in six years, making them the dynasty team of the 1970s. What made this win so special was that no member of the Super Bowl XIV Steelers had ever played for another NFL team.

But this was to be the last Super Bowl appearance for that dynasty. In the 25 years after this airing, Pittsburgh lost five AFC Championship games in six attempts. When they did win it in 1995 (because the officials didn't call an ineligible receiver penalty), Dallas kept Bill Cowher's charges in check throughout Super Bowl XXX.
