30 Rock

This week was really just vintage 30 Rock with a solid plotline and some great one liners. As usual Baldwin steals the show with some genuinely hilarious lines that just add something more to the eps besides the plot.



This week Pete and Liz finally find the person they want as the new cast member but they now need Jack to think it was his idea. So they plan to audition 3 other people who are terrible so that Jack will have no choice but to hire the only decent one. But Liz throws the plan in disarray when she allows Dot Com to audition, opening the floodgates for more people to audition. Jenna does not approve of Jenna's choice as she is convinced that Jayden (the new guy) is crazy from an encounter they had at a play 20 years before.



Meanwhile, Jack notices that he has a real problem with a rash and Kenneth tells him that it is bedbugs. At the news of this people distance themselves from Jack and he is forced to slum it at common people level by riding the train and being forced to take the freight elevator. This opens his eyes and suggests that everyone be allowed to audition for the role and finally he makes the call on who he wants for the job based on not only their talent but their qualities as a person also.



This ep was really funny if the truth about Jayden was predictable. But it was nice to see Josh back in the ep and some of the cameos were priceless, Kathy made me laugh my backside off. The show is coming back to what made it hilarious in the previous three seasons in the last couple of eps and now I personallt can't wait to see what the next will bring us.

This week episode was a nice saved from last week very dull episode. Every character in the show (except for Cerie) has some very funny screen time. Even, the Cisco and the Winter Olympics plug made me chuckle. This week, the show mainly centered on Liz and Pete finding a new cast member for TGS. Jack's bedbugs bits also works and the Jenna and Tracy combination was odd at first but simply funny halfway through. I want more Jenna and Tracy in the future. The audition was the best and the most hilarious part. I think this installment was the strongest 30 Rock episode yet this season. Oh best line of the night: "Boy, I Hope he speaks English!" God, I wish the cast member is wacky as the others.

Fun episode of 30 Rock. The show is still not great though and it disappoints me that I can't score these episodes higher than the mid 7's. There are just too many scenes that should be cut and too much unbelievable dialogue (even by this show's standards) courtesy of Kenneth and Jenna.



But I did laugh, a lot. The cheap plug for Cisco was awesome, as are any and all attempts at doing a Christopher Walken impression.



And of course, loved when Jenna walked past Dot Com and Said, "Hi, Grizz or Dot Com." Awesome, inside joke about most fans not knowing the difference between the two.

It might not be a fitting day for some awesome shows on the Thursday slot. In my opinion the best sci-fi on TV Fringe had its ratings plummet to 4.7 million views, and 30 Rock which is NBC's premium comedy offering down at 5.9 million, which is 3 million less than what a train-wreck of show like Office can garner.



To talk about his episode, the audition part of the plot and Jack's bedbug attack were hilarious. The ridiculous Cisco product promotion and NBC's winter Olympics message was worse than the Sprint promo we saw some seasons back. But still, the writing was strong enough, and even though the intended message was strong enough the comedy portion of it didn't suffer much. Enjoyable episode.
