30 Rock

Liz is strolling to work and is surprised when Jack pulls up on the sidewalk. He cannot say how he got out of his position with the government, but he is back and ready to reclaim his old job from Devon.



Jack talks to Devin about getting his job back. Devin is already comfortable with his role as the man in charge at 30 Rock. Jack lets Devin know he will be on top, which amuses Devin. He offers Jack a job in the mailroom, and he accepts the offer.



Liz is dressed up because the adoption agency is going to do a home evaluation with her. Bev is sent over to interview her. Bev asks questions about Liz's work and her even her sex life. Bev decides to visit Liz's work, since it plays a huge role in her day to day life. Liz thinks that this is a terrible idea.



Liz tries to clean her work environment before Bev gets there. Jack stops her and lets her know that Cathy made a move on him, and if he does go through with it, he can get his job back. He doesn't know if he wants to act sleazy like Devin just to get his way. But he does have some good news. He has been promoted to Director of Mail Services.



Bev tours 30 Rock and takes notes on everything. She interviews Liz's co-workers, who happen to disclose bad stories about Liz. Jack takes Liz aside and tells her that Devin plans on shutting down all of GE, and that he has to do something about it and take over by going upstairs to do it with Cathy.



Devin comes back to the office early before Jack can do anything with Cathy. Bev comes by in search of Liz. In the meantime, Liz is pleading with Jack to say nice things about her and to be as charming as possible. He makes a great impression, but this adds no help to Liz's scenario as her co-workers start fighting.



Cathy then shows up and attacks Bev because she is jealous. Bev gets away, only to be accidentally hits with Frank's nunchucks. She falls to the ground and Liz and Jack look through Bev's evaluation chart while she is unconscious. When Bev wakes, she has completely forgotten about everything that has happened and Liz is ecstatic because she gets to have a do-over evaluation.



The second time around, everything goes well. Liz's co-workers are all pleasant. However, Bev tells Liz that even though visiting Liz's workplace was a great experience, she is not an ideal candidate for adoption. Suddenly, Bev forgets the entire evaluation and is ready to do it all over again. Liz knows it is about that time to take her to the hospital.



Liz finds out that Jack is going to have sex with Cathy soon and she storms into the office. Jack shows Liz the TV playing Cathy's favorite soap opera. Liz catches on as they start to role play a soap opera storyline for Cathy. Cathy enjoys the performance so much that she hires Jack as her public advisor for business matters. Control is taken away from Devon just like that.
