  • Good example; love the Canadian connections here.

Like most episodes, this one was well written, contained plenty of punchlines, and was quite original. It fell flat a bit in some areas. Liz, Carole, and the plane situation was quite funny and clearly comes from the actual headlines of a flight that was sitting on the runway for 8 or 9 hours. I also enjoyed the secondary story where Jack heads to Toronto (Metro Toronto Convention Center represent!!) and his wife starts having contractions. He then eventually hitches a ride on a meth RV to the U.S., a la "Breaking Bad". Tracy's side story was the flat part here. Not much going on but it did contain quite a few laughs, which saved it. I love the humor of 30 Rock, I enjoy the intelligent dialogue and the rapid-fire pace. At the end, Jack ends up with the baby being born in Canada, and is upset that he doesn't have to pay - come on!!! We have free healthcare for a reason, use it.moreless

Another strong episode of 30 Rock, albeit it one that definitely featured a plethora of dumb storylines. Tracy winning his EGOT (no buildup for this?) Jack and Avery not wanting to have a Canadian baby and Liz being stuck on a plane and trying to lead a revolt?

There were a lot of funny moments though, and the return of Carol was worth the wait, but the usual "smart" humor that this show features was conspicuously absent from this broadcast.

Liked the John Cho cameo, but it really came out of nowhere. Would have liked some more insane Tracy lines too. I think his only good one was telling Kenneth that he did not remember inviting him to listen to his conversation with Pete.moreless

    • Avery: If our child is born here she can't be President!
Jack: Don't even say it! We're having an American, and she will be President, no matter how ridiculous that sentence sounds.
Avery: (sighs) If only we were in Kenya right now, we'd be fine.

    • Jack: My daughter is Canadian-American, but I'm going to treat her just like a human baby.

    • Bellhop: At the risk of sounding incredibly rude, I would beg your pardon and ask you, in your opinion, what's so bad aboot being Canadian?
Jack: Your milk comes in bags. Bags!
Avery: Your pavillion at EPCOT doesn't have a ride.
Jack: And if Canada is so nice and friendly, why does most of our meth come from your Asian drug gangs?

    • Kenneth: Steven Spielberg wants you to star in his next movie.
      Tracy: Kate Capshaw's husband?!

    • Jack: Avery and I are also having a little romantic weekend together. Before the baby comes, we're going to Toronto for the G8 economic summit. It's going to be… very erotic.
