Liz struggles to maintain her long-distance relationship with Floyd and must also use Kenneth's help in finding a missing Tracy. Meanwhile, Jack's marriage situation with Phoebe causes his mother to stop by. Honestly I was dissapointed with this episode I have seen this show be much funnier nd for a last episode of the season it didnt really deliver but it had its moments like where Jack ran away and where Tracy was captured. Glad to see the back of Pheobe she was really annoying. Overal it was a great first season of 30 Rock a worthy winner of the Emmy and a ok final episode 9 out of 10 episode. 10 out of 10 season.

I wasn't going to watch the season finale of "30 Rock," after hearing Alac Baldwin chrew out his daughter over the cell phone, but I will watch because it is tina Fey that is the heart and soul of the series, not Alac Baldwin and I do not wish to hear hin yelling on the cell phone again. the highlight of ther episode is Tracy ran away from the studio and ran into mean backwood folk and he escape with the help of his friands. I like the series so far and I hope it will return next year. I can't wait to see Tina again.

I have been watching this show from the beginning, and i must admit it didnt get off to a briliant start. But after watching this, the final episode of this season, its like im watching a different show. Everything falls together perfectly! The characters are believable (in some way or another) and the situations are inventive and highly hilarious. This is just a perfect example of how giving a show a chance is all that is needed sometimes. This show has come a long way. And as it has already been confirmed that a second season is in the pipeline we should all be looking forward to its return. God bless Tina Fey!

The doctor pretzel joke was the funniest line I've seen on tv in the past month, maybe year. I laughed so hard I peed a little. That doctor needs to be a recurring character. Oh.. and the whole thing with Tracy was pretty good. Not one of Jack's best episdoes, but whatever. Really I just signed up to this site and am writing these extra 90 words to say how much I like the pretzel joke and hope to see the doctor again. So if you're still reading this, you're wasting your time because I'm just filling words at --.
  • Floyd moves to Cleveland, and Liz finds herself surprisingly relieved. Tracy seeks sanctuary from Kenneth's hillbilly cousin and stars in a remake of Misery. Jack welcomes his mother with a well-timed heart attack. Oh, and Phoebe has vertigo.

"Ride it, Donaghy! Ride it straight to hell!"

A wonderful ensemble episode! The similarities between Jack and Liz's characters were definitely emphasized – getting their medicals exams at the same time (although, really, I can see why Liz wouldn't voluntarily switch to Dr. Spaceman. “Cough. And cough. And cough.” And then we'll start the exam?), dealing with stress the same way (a total of five pounds of lobster meat!), and the pleased expressions on their faces when TGS goes on hiatus.

Also, the bond between Tracy and Kenneth? Not creepy at all. After all, Kenneth only provided Tracy with sanctuary, then rescued him from said sanctuary, and then mistake-accidentally injured himself to get Tracy to the studio on time. Great to see Kenneth is still an integral part of the entourage. If only Kenneth's rendition of "I Will Always Love You" had carried over. Elaine Stritch was hilariously appropriate as Jack's mother. I love her, but not in a queer way. Kinda in the same way she loves Liz's baby bucket and shark eyes. Oh, and Dr. Spaceman. Never stop taking those little blue pills. "I think he may have scurvy. He keeps asking for Lemon."

This episode, while not a traditional cliffhanger most shows produce during May sweeps, was pure gold. Everything -- from Jack's mouth tasting like purple to Jenna poking fun at being written out of a few episodes to Liz playfully pulling the plug -- was entertaining and just... fun. The TGS crew has come full circle -- from thinking Tracy was an imbecile (but our imbecile now) to being completely screwed without him; from Jack making Liz's life hell to being proud of her; from Kenneth's love for television overriding his principles to his loyalty to Tracy overriding his love for television. Just... yes.
  • It truly was a very exciting season finale! 30 Rock is the 2nd best comedy series on television (I have to give first place to The Office, I just have to). It's a very, VERY close second though!

Boy, am I glad that I stuck with 30 Rock this year. It was definitely a bumpy and jerky start; the show didn't seem to know what to do with itself, but every aspect of this show has DRASTICALLY improved in twenty-one laughter filled episodes.

What's to love about this series?

    1) The Smarted Writing Staff a comedy series has ever seen!

    2) The Sharpest Cast a Writing Staff could ask for

    3) EXCELLENT GUEST STAR! Who needs big names? This show gets people who are actually good!

"Hiatus" really was an exciting episode! It was pulse-pounding and edge of your seat. Well, at least the Tracy storyline was. Sean Hayes as Kenneth's demented cousin was great. I wish we could have heard a little bit of his screenplay at least. Or even just the title. Season One deleted scenes, maybe? Kenneth was the perfect supporting player in this Tracy storyline. I can only awesome that this is not a character Jack McBrayer is playing, but actually himself (which I've heard he is just like Kenneth). He's too perfect.

Poor Liz, can't get a break. I was kind of surprised at her "relief" to the fake break-up with Floyd. It seemed to come out of no where. But it did make sense for the relationship to end. It couldn't have worked especially after Liz's monologue in the previous episode about how she can't leave New York no matter how great Cleveland is. Maybe this was just me... but I really expected Floyd to ask Liz to talk dirty while they were on video camera. I was kind of disappointed when he didn't, especially since it turned into a break-up because I like Floyd. I just really think hearing Liz "dirty talk" could become the funniest thing I've ever scene in my entire life. Oh well, maybe in episodes to come.

Jack and Alec Baldwin were consistently the best parts (or part, I guess they are "one") of 30 Rock, but he was completely upstaged by the guest stars in his storyline. Emily Mortimer has been terrific as the gold-digging, manipulative fiancé. She had the best line in the episode "I can't, I have vertigo." Elaine Stritch was also fantastic as Jack's mother Colleen. She had another great line "Tell my son I love him... but not in a queer way." I also enjoyed Colleen because she was a very funny, but real character, something you don't see every day on 30 Rock.

True, "Hiatus" was a great episode, but it wasn't the best 30 Rock has to offer. Here are the Top Five episodes of this season:

    5) "Jack-tor" is easily the best of the early bunch. It's smart, funny, and "super-sized!" It also has to have one of Alec Baldwin's best performances on the series.

    4) "Up All Night" has so many good things going for it: drunk Jack, Tracy and his wife (played by the great Sherri Shepherd) role playing, Rachel Dratch as a homeless hooker, Pete and his balloons, and the introduction of Jason Sudaikus and Floyd which did wonders in developing the Liz Lemon character

    3) "Hard Ball" proves that Jane Krakowski belongs on this series. She flat out steals the episode with her photo shoot, her interview, and her Hard Ball spot. She had some competition, too. Jack and Liz vs. Josh and his pervert lawyer (who was a great no named guest star I might add!) in a contract negotiation! Plus Kenneth is added to Tracy's entourage.

    2) "Black Tie" is easily the smartest episode 30 Rock has ever done. There are so many cultural and political references, plus the wacky gags 30 Rock is at best all tied up by great performances by guest stars Paul Reubens and Isabella Rossellini.

    1) "Cleveland" just made me laugh. It might seem like an odd choice for number one, but it was just flat out good. It never was boring and did a grand job building up for a terrific season finale. The "Black Crusaders" has to be the most genius gag ever written.

30 Rock, how I love you. You will be missed over the summer, but our affair will continue in September. I can't wait to see you when you return.
