Liz tells Jenna and Pete that Floyd, her ex, had called her to tell her that he needs a place to stay while he is in New York since he is stranded in the city due to an impending storm. Liz wants their input as to what this call means.
At the studio, it's Sandwich Day. The crew excitedly line up for their sandwiches. The teamsters had to go to a secret deli in Brooklyn and bring the sandwiches back to work. Since Don Geiss is still is a coma, Cathy, his daughter, becomes the new CEO. Jack does not like the fact that his office has moved to the 12th floor. Cathy redecorated his old office with unicorns and pictures of Mark Wahlberg. As Jack leaves his office, his assistant sings "I'll Remember You" to him.
The crew has finished all their sandwiches and there is only one left. It's lying on Liz's desk. Frank tells the crew that they should not take Liz's sandwich but despite this speech, Tracy still goes for the sandwich.
Liz vows that she is going to show Floyd that she has moved on. When Floyd arrives at her place, he is impressed by her new look and her sexy red dress. He tells her he that he wants to take her to dinner.
Liz enters the writer's room and wants to know where her sandwich went. The writers try to blame one another. Kenneth comes in and tells her that he is sorry that he was not able to stop the sandwich thief. She tells him to get her another sandwich or she is going to cut him.
When Liz and Floyd come back to the apartment after dinner, he already has to catch his flight back. He tells her that it was nice seeing her again and that she makes him miss New York. He kisses her cheek and gets in a cab, leaving her smiling.
Jack visits Don Geiss and asks the comatose man for a sign of what he should do. An orderly then comes in and tells Jack that he has to leave GE. Jack believes that this is his sign.
All the writers are anxious to get Liz a new sandwich. Tracy wants his fame to impress the teamsters so that they well let him know the location of the secret deli. This does not happen and the teamsters set up a drinking contest with the writers.
Liz thinks her goodbye to Floyd went well but she is shocked when she sees Floyd at her door the next day. It turns out that his airline had gone bankrupt overnight, leaving him stranded in New York for even longer. Liz decides this is a good time to ask him about eight months ago when she called him and a woman picked up his phone.
Floyd receives a call about another flight and tells Liz that they can talk more about their relationship when he gets back to Cleveland. However, later, Liz sees Floyd in Central park eating ice cream. He had lied to her about finding a flight. He says that since she stayed in New York, he's dated a lot of women. Liz decides to walk way from Floyd permanently.
Jenna is the only writer that the team thinks can handle the drinking contest. She says she will do it. After five shots, she starts feeling sick and nauseous and Kenneth, Tracy and Frank agree to take one for the team. The teamsters give Liz her sandwich after they lose.
Jack gives advice to Liz and tells her that she should go after Floyd if she truly cares about him. She heads to the airport on a mission to make things right with him. Before she can go through the gate, she purchases a cheap ticket to Montreal and eats her sandwich in her purse.
Liz sees Floyd as he is about to get on the plane to Cleveland. She says sorry for her behavior and he wonders if they can be friends again. He attempts to give her back her apartment key but she makes him keep it. He gets on his flight just as the news announces that the president has appointed Jack Donaughy as the Homeland Security Director of Crisis and Weather Management.
