  • Another good addition to the series

30 Rock [6x05] Today You Are a Man

    TV.com rating- 8.9

    RJG rating- 8

Liz negotiates with Jack ,Kennath feels neglected and Tracy&Jenna perform at a Bar Mitzah...

The Jack & Liz story was funny while the other two subplots felt a bit repetitive...But due to the cast performances ,the show moves on smoothly..
  • Today You Are A Man

Finally, a somewhat decent episode of 30 Rock this season. It could still be better, but this is the Jack Donaghy we all know and have appreciated for six years, but have not seen as much lately. Brutal, yet oblivious at the same time, and that makes for a hilarious combination. Kristen Schaal also did a good job as the replacement page, making me miss Flight of the Conchords even more.

Nice Jack and Liz storyline, and even the weird Tracy and Jenna plot had some good lines.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Toofer: Kenneth's trying to make us beg him to come back.
Pete: Well, we are not doing that. I've learned from having children that when your kid throws a tantrum and holds his breath, you hold yours, too. When you regain consciousness, believe me he's ready to leave the toy store.

    • Tracy: [Marty]'s calling you about his son's Bar Mitzvah. Marty wants to pay us crazy money just to show up.
Jenna: Well, you know I'm in. Getting paid to help a boy become a man is kind of my wheelhouse.

    • Simon: My client gets 5% gross merchandising, where gross means income before expenses and not gross, like apples on a sandwich.

    • Marty: (greeting Tracy and Jenna) Here they are, my favorite clients. Adam is going to be so excited to meet with you. He is a huge, huge fan.
Tracy: Yes, many of our viewers are obese.

    • Jack Donaghy: Jack Donaghy playing with himself (dramatic pause) It's a Jack-Off.

    • Liz: (to Jack's video) I'm negotiating against you, you magnificent bastard!

This alludes to the 1970 film Patton, in whichGeorge C. Scott as Patton yells in Rommel's direction, "You magnificent bastard, I read your book"!
