Scott Pelley reports from Cleveland, where the sheer volume of foreclosures is causing high vacancy rates in some neighborhoods to be so high that the values of occupied homes are being impacted. In order to combat the problem, the city is demolishing once valuable properties.
Anderson Cooper goes on an underwater adventure off coast of Cuba to look first hand at one of the world's most pristine and vibrant coral reefs. But unless mankind is more careful, these reefs, which are already dying, could disappear entirely.
Morley Safer sits down with the two-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep for a rare interview. She talks about acting, her career, family and her major role: British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Meryl Streep: It's good to have something that is discoverable. Frankly, I think every human being has. I don't think I'm that mysterious, but I'm glad he (Jack Nicholson) thinks so.
Morley Safer: If you look at the movies being made, the big movies that are being made are, are about comic strips...
Meryl Streep: (playfully waving her hand) Well, I don't see those!
Morley Safer: ...vampires, or gross behavior.
Meryl Streep: Yeah.
Morley Safer: All aimed at, what, 18 year-old boys?
Meryl Streep: Yes, that's called the narrowing of the audience. The movie business has worked assiduously to discourage you, and other intelligent, discerning people (Morley laughs) from the theater, from the movie theater. They have worked hard to get rid of you because you don't go then buy toys and games.
