The stand-out feature in this episode is, hands down, the super sizing of American homes. While generally not this super sized in super high cost states (I'm speaking from California), the extent of self-indulgence and just plain OVER-indulgence nationally is awe inspiring.

I'm using the word "awe" because there is no denying these homes are tremendous. Absolutely awesome, posh, immense, bigger than movie star homes. I'm not at all implying they are actually inspiring. I've long ago decided that there actually IS 'enough' to have and anything more than that is better spent, no, invested in needs that aren't met as well as mine. If they switched out just one chandelier for one big fancy local lighting store light, they could save the lives of a thousand homeless, abandoned, abused animals; school a good number of children; feed countless homeless and do ALL of these things for at least a year. For the cost of a light fixture.

The right or wrong of it beside the point, these homes were works of art, without any doubt. From the domes of stained glass to the kitchens with state of the art, multiple ovens, marble countertops and one of a kind cabinets, these homes were magnificent. One little girl's bedroom looked like the largest, most 'Paris Hilton' like hotel suites, complete with multi-headed, entire corner of the room shower stall, jacuzzi tub and toilet that would suit the Queen of England herself just fine.

It was all so breathtaking, to just look at the extravagance, the workmanship, the beauty and creativity; however, for real, not one looked like a HOME and there's not a single one that I'd choose to live in. If I had all the money in the world, I doubt I'd have more than 3 bedrooms, my big indulgence might be 3 jacuzzi-equipped bathrooms, slightly increased kitchen space, maybe solar power, but my biggest investment, without hesitation, would be to start a self-supporting network of animal rescue and care facilities WORLD wide and employ/house the homeless in each of these facilities, providing a perpetual motion of care, support and love.

    That, or a chandelier.
