Great show for pre-schoolers. I think that it's great to have a show with animals on it that teaches little kids lessons. Sad thing about today is, pre-schoolers are exposed to things like sex, violence and cursing. This is a great show for pre-schoolers. They not only get to laugh and learn lessons, but they also get to learn more about the animals that are on the show.
64 Zoo Lane is actually a wonderful British import that is shown in American on Noggin each day. One of the best things about the show is that it can keep young children occupied for a few minutes. However, it can also keep older children and even adults entertained as well. This makes it one of the better children's programs around, as I recently started watching it myself with my 3 year old cousin and find it utterly enjoyable.
The premise is a tad proposterous because it shows a young girl named Lucy who lives next door to a group of animals in a zoo. She, in turn, at night goes and visits the animals after she has gotten into bed and the animals tell her stories about themselves and their friends so she can fall asleep. The best part about the stories is that they are not lame. One can actually learn morals and life lessons that they can use later on in life while watching the episodes, and the little children really have no idea they are learning while they are watching. This is what makes a great show, subtly teaching children while they believe they are just being entertained by the show.
The animation is not the best in the world, but the fact that it actually teaches children instead of bombarding them with violent images and irritating parents and caregivers alike, makes up for animation.
For it's teaching of morals and entertainment value for old and young alike, 64 Zoo Lane gets a resounding applause for it's creative and wonderfully told stories.
The kids shows I write about that I like are so good, they should be for anybody at any age. I really like the song, and I remember a foreign TV show that also had the same thing. It It also took place at night before bedtime for little kids. There were no kids that lived near zoos. And those animals look like they live in her back yard. I do not know about any new episodes, but it is now airing on The Noggin Channel. It is airing several times each day. It really is one of the better kids shows.
When I was younger, this show's catchy tune caught me into a world that was full of wonderful stories. After all these years, I still remember the theme song, but more importantly lifelong values.
64 Zoo Lane was TRULY a great show. It's charm mystified me and I can still envision the theme song.."Sixty Four, Sixty Four, Sixty Four Zoo Lane..." It's song and characters enticed me into watching the whole episode. Along the way, I learned many life values that are missing in a lot of today's shows. Too much junk is on television these days and this show reminds me of the days when shows like Blue's Clues, Arthur, and Dragon Tales weren't only for pre-schoolers. They were for 7-10 year olds who actually watched it. Now, all I see my 7 year old brother watch are shows that emote romance and violence. Whenever I think about TV shows these days, I think, "What the hell is wrong with you Show Producers?!" Gone are the days of shows like this. All I know is that 64 Zoo Lane did it's job and I appreciate it. I thank the creators of this show for their good values. In closing, THIS SHOW ROCKS!!!
