  • Parker undertakes a Backstep during Dangerous Solar Activity and accidentally brings a woman back from the dead.

This was an interesting episode but it didn't feel like a season premiere. The Pilot of the series had Parker BackStepping for the very first time to save The President and the Vice President from Assasination. The Second season opened with Parker Backstepping to retrieve the nuclear football and prevent a nuclear holocaust. The Third opens with Parker Backstepping to stop a train derailment.

After the Finale of Season 2, "The Cure" it was expected that there would be some progression in Frank and Olga's relationship. Sadly, nothing had changed at all. The pair had a little bit of playful banter but it was very minimal.

Ever since the shows move from Los Angeles to Canada, the role of Isaac Metnor had decreased, at the start of this season, he is no longer a series regular. Nor is John Ballard, but he does make an appearance, maintaining the level of participation from his character that has been in existence since the beginning of the series.

The plot itself was interesting, Parker brings someone back from "The Other Side." Her reactions to the world 20 years in the future are interesting. The drama back at NNL is very well executed relying on the actors performances to carry that part of the episode.

The New Men in Black seem much less than the original 2 of Charley Lang and Jerome Butler. Watching their interactions makes me really wish they had gotten them back for this episode.

The weapons deal gone wrong action scene was good to give Parker an opportunity to have an action hero moment. Not to mention break up some of the scenes.

The ending was very well handled. Although a little weird. The final scene was a little cliché, the whole "Back to normal is a madhouse" type of thing.
  • This episode is one of my personal favourites, it has a little of everything. I wrote this at 5AM, and I have never written a review of any kind before, so please don’t be too harsh :p

This is probably one of my favourite episodes of the series so far, although truth be told, this is the first episode I have seen of season 3. If the rest of the season is as good as this episode, I will be happy.
I don’t like the new introductory commentary at the start of the episode, to me it sounds like it was written by a kid (though that’s just like frank sometimes).
The special effects seem to have improved this season, and it’s the first time that I can recall that they have shown the sphere completely disappear from NNL (Its been a long time since I watched seasons 1 and 2 though so maybe I have forgotten).
The episode is one of those ones where something goes wrong with a Backstep (this time due to solar activity), I wont elaborate because I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you.
I wouldn’t call the episode a tear jerker, but it comes close.
It’s a pity they haven’t brought the series out on DVD, or at least the popular episodes on Mini DVD (as they seem to be doing with Smallville and a few other shows these days).
And yes, I know I suck at writing reviews… If you have any review writing tips, I wouldn’t mind hearing them.
