  • Stuart Bailey has to deal with a man doing footwork for his firm that is blackmailing his customers,and then is a suspect when he is found murdered.

    Stuart Bailey,private investigator of the
    Bailey & Spencer investigating firm,finds
    that a man doing legwork for the firm,
    Charles Dixon,is blackmailing his female clients
    with negatives of them with other men.
    After knocking Dixon senseless,he becomes
    involved with a woman named Ann who came to
    see him.When Dixon is found murdered,his new,
    mysterious love has disappeared and he is
    the suspect in Dixon's murder.Later,his partner,
    Jeff Spencer,joins Stu in investigating the
    case,dodging the police and finding out
    who the real murderer is.Stu remembers that
    she came by cab and gets the cabbie to take him
    to that woman's home.She is then exposed as
    the real murderer,having done it due to Dixon's
    blackmailing.

    Stuart Bailey discovers that a worker of the
    Bailey & Spencer firm is blackmailing clients.
    In the process,he becomes involved romantically with a woman who is being blackmailed by that worker,and when that worker is found stabbed to
    death in his office,Bailey and Jeff Spencer
    must find the real murderer before Bailey gets
    charged with murder.It is the woman Bailey was
    involved with.
