The show begins with Chandler categorically refusing a suggestion by Eric that he might want to consider adoption. Eric then invites his associate over to dinner at the parsonage, but Chandler passes, thinking the upbeat mood the whole family seems to be in -- most of all Annie -- seems rather inappropriate given it's been just a week since her father died.
He first calls Roxanne, but she's going out for shooting practise with her father, now retired from the police force. He then heads out to the Promenade, and finds Cecilia having dinner with her parents. They're in a positive mood, too, and invite him over to a school where a new cleanup crew is going to be trained. He passes, and also passes on Peter's offer of an invite to his mother's place, where they and Vic are going to do some cleaning. Later on, we see Chandler visiting the school, Peter's place, and the Camdens. Everyone is dancing. This is really weird. Finally, he's at Pete's Pizza. A mysterious girl named Angela tells him to go to a certain address. He goes there, but falls asleep, to be awoken the next morning by a kid who's lost his parents and is about to lose his grandmother.
Chandler presumes he's a bright kid, but it turns out he's in a lot of trouble. He initially presumes Angela is an angel since she just disappeared into thin air, but then it turns out she's Pete's [as in Pete's Pizza] niece. Chandler is furious that Eric tricked him, but then agrees to at least give adoption a chance.
In other highlights:
-- Annie and the rest of the gang are really happy. She says she thinks her father would've wanted her to be happy; that he was a great father and he's the reason she's tried to be a good mother. She's looking forward to being a grandmother, and considers herself lucky to have three great kids-in-law.
-- Ruthie and Peter finally say the magic words "I love you" to each other for the first time -- sort of.
-- Lucy and Kevin look for a new place, down the street. They talk about starting a family again -- but if you want to know what they decide, you'll have to watch the show yourself!
