This Christmas episode was on of the best Christmas episodes ever!! This episode of 7th Heaven was really different, but so awesome to watch. When Eric went to heaven, it looked like he was in a dream or something. Everything looked so bright with a lot of Christas colours. My favourite part of this episode is when Eric is looking for gifts to give his family. It was nice to see Jenny, Annie's mother in this episode because we didn't really get to know her that well in the first season. One of the funniest things in this episode was when Jenny said to eric,"Can I tell you something, just between you and me? The internet sucks the life out of time.". I like this quote because it's so true. This episode was a good Christmas episode to watch. I give it a 10/10.
  • A wonderful presentation of what heaven must be like.

We sure need more shows like this one on TV. This show gives so many examples of the good qualities that people need more of.

I'm enjoying this episode, as I do every episode. This one particular episode is one of the better ones.

I particularly like this presentation of what heaven must be like. It must be incredible to live in a world free of all the negatives we live with today.

I really wish that they could get this back on the network channels so more people can benefit from watching it.

My girls are sitting here watching this episode, all worried that Eric won't make it back to his family.
  • It was okay, a little different.

Eric "dies" and goes to heaven. Once there he sees Jenny and she helps him pick up gifts for Matt, Mary, Lucy, Simon, Ruthie, Sam, David and Annie. He also meets other people who have affiliations with people he has helped on earth including Martin's mother. Back at the house, Lucy and Kevin have come home early. They have decided that for Christmas, they will set one day aside for helping people for themselves, another for helping people for Eric and one more for helping people for God. Ruthie, Kevin, Lucy, Sam and David are worried about Eric, but Annie has faith. Eric is granted to go back to earth by his guardian angel.

This episode was okay. It was a little different experience that I had expected. I didn't like it too much. This episode gets a 7.5 out of 10.

Wow! This was a special episode. Eric goes to heaven? How come? I am glad the he didnt die. He went up there to shop for his family. He got Matt Time so that way Matt will have more time for family. He got Mary an Eraser so that way she would erase her past mistakes. He got Lucy Courge so she will have courge to have another baby. He got Simon purpose. He got Ruthie Dignity, Loyalty, and Beauty and for Sam and David he got them Cooperation, Understanding, Respect. For Annie something special.

This is the best family show on all the networks. What a great uplifing show. We look forward to watching this every week and are very disappointed when it is not on. We feel a little left out after Eric\'s trip to Heaven. This needs a follow up to complete the story.

Please get rid of the reality crap and give us more of this type of show.
  • Worst...Episode...EVER!!!

    "Abysmal"
This was the worst 7th Heaven episode ever, and that's saying something because there have been some awful ones during these past 11 seasons. I can't believe how bad this episode was. If there was anything else on TV, I probably would have stopped watching halfway through. What were the writers thinking when they wrote this? It is like they wanted to start their Christmas break early, so they just haphazardly through this piece of junk together. I don't mind sappy Christmas episodes/movies (matter of fact, I usually love this sort of stuff around Christmas), but this was 100% pure garbage.

How on earth all these people are giving it a perfect 10 is a mystery to me. I guess 7th Heaven has the bad taste vote in their pocket.
  • It was a great episode because we got to see how Eric has affected so many people indirectly. I think viewers could learn a lot from this episode, and really get into the christmas spirit!

Seeing Eric in heaven and him not even realizing how all these people know him was just so funny. And seeing his reaction when he realized how he\'s affected them really reminded me why I watch this show. I loved how all viewers can see how tiny, indirect, sometimes even rude!, acts can make a world of difference. Eric could see how his time on Earth was worthwhile, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing that. Eric is a truly amazing person, and he finally got to really see that. It was very clever how the writer\'s managed to incorporate everyone that Eric was rude to in the previous episode, and relate the people Eric meets in a very clever way!! I loved seeing the different gifts that Eric gathered for his children and wife. Very clever! It really related to the different individual\'s lives, and just fit very well. So all in all, a fabulous episode. If you missed this one, I\'d spend 10 minutes looking for it on youtube, because it\'s really worth it. The lessons viewed in this episode are communicated in a clever way, and viewers can really learn a great deal from this episode. Even if one doesn\'t even celebrate Christmas or believe in heaven!

Eric visits Heaven and Jenny (Annie\\\'s mom) is there (since she died). He gets presents for everyone. Matt- Time (more for family) Mary- Eraser (To erase past mistakes)

Lucy- Courage (To have more kids) Simon- Purpose (To do something)

    Ruthie- beauty something and something

Sam and David- something something and something

Annie- A pin that her mom gave her dad when Annie was born He eventually returns home (the pin and nothing else) he gives the pin to Annie and she gets sad. He told her he found it. I still have words that I need to type 96 97 98 99 100
  • Eric gets to visit heaven, One of my favorites. How wonderful if we could get/give such gifts that are so needed and would be truely welcomed in such a comercial world. Annie's faith is strong and brings calm to the family. I'm glad he was only visiting.

Eric gets to visit heaven, this is one of my favorites. How wonderful if we could get and/or give such gifts that are so needed and would be truely welcomed in such a material world. It was great to see some faces from the past and even better to put a face with names of friends and those that have been helped along the way by the Reverend and his family. A special touch that Annie will actually get her mother's cameo pin. A welcome change from all the comercialism that we are constantly subjected to. Well done, as usual. And I'm glad he ws only there for a visit.
  • Eric visits heaven, recieves spiritual gifts for his immediate family from the families of people he helped, Annie\'s mom gives Eric, a broach for Annie, Annie has faith for the entire family Eric is fine and will be home and he is

    "Superb"
It was nice to let Eric know that he helped alot of people (even with his changed attitude. Annie\\\'s attitude was fine afterall Eric was only 20mins late. Ruthie really needs to adjust her attitude quickly, it\\\'s getting old. Being centered around Christmas is good, although singing around every corner for more than 10-15seconds was a bit much.

I really enjoyed this episode either way, I related to the gifts.
  • Ok...Eric is between Heaven and Earth. This episode was somewhat special...but at the same time kind of boring! I guess it was just plain silly!

    7.5
    "Good"
Ok...this episode was kinda silly! I mean Eric was inbetween Heaven and Earth?! Who came up with that?!

It wasn't a bad idea...however, it could have been handled better! It just seemed as if we were being dragged alone on the ride...whether we wanted to go or not.

Honestly, it was boring. I mean it was a sweet idea and all, but they really messed it up by having the actors just talk...for there wasn't anyone who was acting in this episode!

All the actors just stood around talking...how boring!!!

Anyway, atleast we found out that Eric isn't going to die anytime soon.
  • A very thoughtful and special episode!

I loved this episode so much! It had me in tears, and laughing at the same time. Alice Hirson did such a great job, portraying Jenny, such a natural! It was so good to see her again. Very thoughtful, inspiring, uplifting, emotional and spiritual-the story with all those people coming up to Eric, telling him "thank you" about helping their family, was very sweet. And the gift-giving, was perfect, just what each Camden needs. Watching this felt like the old days, a touch of comedy-(Alice Hirson), and those tearjerking moments-it was filled up with them, this ep really does show what Christmas is truly about-family, friends, love, and just being present-Eric has helped so many people just by being present. It was quite neat how this episode was tied in from the last one, with the a family member coming to tell Eric, 'thank you..' and gives him a update on Betsy, Phil, and the others who he had previously counselled in Heaven. And Stanley is an angel, yes!! I knew it! One of the best parts of the whole episode, was when Aunt Jenny gave Eric, her pin to give to Annie for Christmas-leading Eric to go back to earth, to his family-and to that cute, tender scene between him and Annie-she gets her mother's pin-the look on her face is priceless. Their traded words, so poignant! A beautiful, cute, sweet and meaningful episode-(great one-liners!) ! *Eric nibbling on all that great looking food was a hoot to watch!
  • Eric is somewhere between Heaven and earth as his family waits for him to come home.

    4.3
    "Poor"
This episode sort of reminded me of all those Christmas pageants I participated in when I was in grade school. Pretty uncomplicated, and stale in most places. No wonder our parents fell asleep! Oh, well, it's Christmas, so I'll give it to them. It was nice to see actress Alice Hirson reprise her role as Grandma Jenny. And, having some good news about Eric made for a nice gift (one we've all been waiting for, and deserve). Another plus to the show was the fact that T-Bone, Margaret, and Jane were all MIA-- I wanted this to be a Camden Christmas, exclusive of them. More on the minus side: How could Eric forget the time when Mary destroyed the school gym? It basically ruined her life. Lots of bad close-ups of Lucy (ouch!) Couldn't they have found a better doll to represent the doll Joyce longed for as a child? It wasn't even a doll; it was some kind of artists' model thingie (did they even have those 70 years ago???) Ooo, and last , but not least, what was the significance in having such a harsh, dare I say, unappealing person to play Eric's guardian angel? It was a pretty visually disturbing scene when she came on board. All these minuses must have been put in to distract viewers from the "it's been done before" storyline. Maybe a bunch of flashbacks on Camdens' days gone by would have made for a more enjoyable, sentimental holiday program. And shouldn't Eric have been at least been laying car-side at the end of the show??? A few minutes ago, he was just dying of a serious heart ailment, for crying out loud! In the tune of The Chipmunks song, "All I want for Christmas is an explanation!". Well, at least Eric's here to stay for a while. Merry Christmas!
  • A spirited and important episode.

Wow what a great episode! Classic 7th Heaven, in my opinion. I know to some, all the gifts may seem cheesy, but there truly is a wonderful message behind tonight's episode. Christmas episodes are always great!

And I'm so thankful that Eric is okay -- and that it appears that will remain okay. I knew Stanley had to be a guardian angel.

The final 15 minutes were especially suspenseful and touching. Even though I knew Eric would live, I was still anxious to see what his guardian angel had to say. And his final scene with Annie was so sweet.

I also loved how Savannah got so excited when her mom came back!

Can't wait till new episodes. January 14
  • Knocking on heaven's door? No thanks.

    6.0
    "Fair"
This was way, way too weird for me. Seeing specific examples of how Eric has helped people or helped them to help themselves was fine in itself, but it would have made more sense if the town square we saw was Heaven's waiting room, not Heaven itself.

As for the brooch -- how is Eric ever going to explain how he got it? Moreover, if he took something that didn't belong to him does that shorten the time he has left on Earth?

One little nitpick, though: Jenny said something about Mary trashing the school and getting expelled. Mary was not expelled, but she did get a severe reprimand and was forced to clean up the mess she and her basketball teammates made -- forced, by Lucy.
  • And uh.....yeah

    4.0
    "Poor"
Heaven is like a shopping mall? With only a hint of Jesus? Who, ironically as a Christian minister, Eric never asks about?

So.....Eric gets the gifts for the kids for all the shortcomings that they have? Matt gets "time"? Mary gets an eraser to forget her mistakes. I find it REALLY odd that he had forgotten about her trashing the school gym? Simon gets a "purpose"? Ruthie gets "dignity" and the twins gets "cooperation"? And Annie is perfect so he doesn't get her a gift?

Maybe this was an attempt at patching where the writers brain-farted. So, yea! Eric lives! And then he just shows up in the living room. I think there should have at least been a tidbit about what happened on the way home.

Eric giving Annie her mother pin was sweet.

I have no clue where this season is going and I don't think anyone involved in the show does either.
  • It wasn\'t good but it wasn\'t bad!

    5.9
    "Mediocre"
I have to admit this episode was one of the worst episode this season. I mean it wasn\'t that bad but it was really stupid!!! Eric goes to heaven and meets Jenny (Annie\'s mother)! Eric and Jenny walk around heaven looking for gifts for the kids. Each place they stop at someone thanks Eric for helping out one of theirs love ones. I just felt that this episode was just plain boring. I mean for a christmas episode it could have been a lot better. The only good thing about this episode was that each gift that Eric got for his kids meant something. They all had special meanings!
  • Eric Goes Shopping for the Family While in Heaven

    6.5
    "Fair"
Yes, you read that correctly. He goes shopping for gifts for his children that will apparently fix all of the problems they have as a result of his parenting skills.

For example, Lucy gets a box of courage because he failed to instill self-esteem in his middle child. The bonus here is he can just toss it over the fence or just keep it in his pocket because Lucy has never and will never leave.

Matt gets time so he can be a more focused parent. I guess Eric being gone counseling everyone all those years did a number on him.

Mary gets an eraser to "erase" that mistake of tp'ng the HIGH SCHOOL gym all those years ago. Oddly enough, Eric claims to have forgotten all about that even though he shipped his daughter across the country, kicking her out of the house etc and just last May at Simon's wedding, he was reminiscing about Mary and her dumb mistakes. Simon gets a "purpose." Whatever.

Ruthie gets a trifecta that includes dignity. I guess he needed help with this one since last week, he found it acceptable and apparently dignified for his youngest daughter to be making out with the houseguest in the kitchen while announcing her womanhood. Again, amnesia because just a couple of weeks prior to that, Eric was booting around the world sitting in a pub in Scotland reminding Ruthie she is still a kid and will do what he says.

By this point, I forget what he gives the twins and Annie needs nothing. She's perfect. What truly irritated me about this episode was the writers' asking just a tad too much in the suspension of disbelief category. I'll buy the out of body experience and even the shopping for gifts to fill in the weaknesses of his kids, but when he just up and appeared in the living room with no explanation, well screw you too!! What was that? Anyone?

Did he take some mind altering drugs for the ride home?

They should have explained that to some degree by having him wake up next to his car after fainting or something--ANYTHING! There was no explanation. And Annie didn't seem much bothered by the fact that Eric showed up with the pin her dead mother was wearing, unless of course "Annie's mother" somehow zapped it up into Heaven after her death adn pinned it to her outfit just in time for it to fall off so Eric could find it in that embarassingly bad "snow" prop.

So now we know. Eric lives. YEE HAWWWWWW.

    Now what?
  • This was a sweet episode.

    8.9
    "Great"
For a Christmas episode it was better than average. Sure, it wasn't the best written or best acted program but it was a sweet Christmas story with a wonderful message. The message was that things we do on earth, even those things that seem very small and trivial, can make big differences in one life and potentially many lives. Things we do start things in motion that can bless generations yet to be born. It was a cheesey episode that reminded me a little of "Its a Wonderful LIfe"..its not realistic, but it is wholesome and nice. That is what Christmas is. With so many tv programs so afraid to actually say "Christmas" it was wonderful to see a show that was not ashamed of not only saying "Christmas" but reminding us of the meaning of the holiday.

I enjoyed it. I generally don't watch tv on Sunday because I like to keep away from the secular on this day. I usually tape Sunday shows and watch on other days. But, this episode seemed like it would be a nice addition to the Sabbath and I was not disappointed.
  • This was a terrible episode.

    3.8
    "Bad"
There were so many things wrong with this episode.

First of all, I cannot believe the way heaven was depicted. It was ridiculous. A shopping center? Come on.

Buying time for Matt and Sarah? The writers cannot be serious. They were almost sacriligious in the representation of heaven.

Also...last episode Kevin was supposed to be terribly ill...yet today he seemed just fine... I wish the writers would stop making excuses for why characters aren't appearing on screen. I cannot believe this was the Christmas episode. I can understand that they can't show the whole family...but they could have had written something a little less contrived.

Honestly...this was the worst Seventh Heaven Episode.
