Matt: I'm sorry, Dad. I'm a total screw-up. Eric: (before lovingly embracing his son) Not total.
Charles: She's passed on, Annie. She's gone.
Jenny: (comes to Annie in a dream) I love you, but I have to go.
Jenny: I'm so glad Annie came and got us. I love you. Charles: I love you.
Eric: You're never going to drive my car again!
Police Officer: (to Matt) Well, that's an interesting cologne you're wearing. Step outside.
Lucy: (about to go on her first date with Jimmy Moon) This is the most important night of my life! Mary: The point is to avoid looking like a total geek who does everything her parents tell her to do.
Lucy: (in front of Eric) You remember my dad? Jimmy: Oh yeah the God guy. Eric: Yeah I see how you charmed my daughter.
Annie: When did you start drinking wine? Charles and Jenny: Yesterday.
Ruthie: (Eric forgets Ruthie in the car) Mom never does this.
Annie: Hey Simon, no fighting while I'm gone. Simon: Okay, I'll wait until you get home.
Lucy: You're the greatest. Annie: Oh, well, thanks I try.
Ruthie: (referring to Eric) Is he going to cook? (Annie nods her head) Hmph.
Matt: I'm a total idiot. Jenny: Hey, that's my grandson you're talking about! And he's not an idiot. He's just a 16-year-old kid trying to make his way in the world.
Annie: Is this what happens when I leave? Everybody fights? Kids: Yes!
Ruthie: Do you guys need anything? It's not 5:00 yet. Mary: So? Ruthie: Simon says I'm responsible for everything before 5:00. Mary: Yeah, well, go tell Simon nice try, but you're not his personal valet. Ruthie: Okay! later that day Simon: That's it, pack it up sister, you're out of here! Ruthie: No, I'm not your personal ballet!
Matt: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you. Jenny: Oh, I don't mind. Life is full of disturbances. Matt: Yeah, I'm starting to see that. How you feeling? Jenny: Tired. And very, very happy.
This episode ends the 3-episode arc of Annie's parents and her mother's fight from leukemia which was first found out in the pilot episode. However, Graham Jarvis (playing Charles Jackson) recurs every season while he was alive (through season 8). Alice Hirson (Jenny Jackson) appeared in a dream and in a video tape later on in the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 10th seasons. She also appears in season 11 when Eric is in "heaven".
Mary: (to Jeff) And, tomorrow, we'll see Striptease. Mary is making an allusion to the 1996 film, Striptease, an adaptation of the provacative best-seller by Carl Hiaasen, which starred Demi Moore.
