  • 7th Heaven kicks off its 200th episode...with 3 additional characters and an unoriginal plot. It sure is late, but not, I think, the way the writers intended it to mean.

    "Great"
I was looking forward to the return of 7th Heaven and it's 10th anniversary season, especially after a long summer. Imagine the disappointment when I didn't see Peter Graves or Barbara Rush's name in the credits, and when I saw not one, not two, but THREE additional female characters to the opening credits? What the hell? Did Brenda not learn ANYTHING from her mistake in season 8? Apparently not. Let's break this episode down:

ERIC: It's nice to see Eric back on track with work at the church again, and taking more of an active role in his kid's lives again. The opening scene was pretty good...I loved the music. But other than that, it's a shame to see that Eric is still hiding news from his own parents, The Colonel and Ruth, just like he did 6 years ago when he tried to hide his sister, Julie's pregnancy. When will the reverend learn? But other than that, I can't find fault with Eric, other than he really should practice what he preaches.

LUCY/KEVIN: The sermon was much shorter than I thought it would be, especially since I thought this was an important storyline, yet they only spent 5 minutes on it. Heck, Lucy probably got the least screen time out of all the Camdens. That was pretty disappointing since I'm sure the storyline would have been good, had they expanded on it. I was upset that it was just dropped after 5 minutes, and it wasn't really mentioned again, until the family started blaming her, which was totally unnecessary. So her sermon ran over 15 minutes. Sunday is one day out of the whole week; and if these people were really devoted Christians, they would know Sunday is the day of rest, so I don't know why they were in such a hurry to leave, unless it was just for lunch. Jeez.

As for Kevin, I'm still not a fan of George Stults' acting. His line, "I have my daughter waiting at home" was so freaking CORNY. Kevin is corny. But I'm slowly getting used to that. I'm really not looking forward to seeing him as a stay-at-home dad but w/e. His lines with Lucy about the apologies and sex though were completely random and weird. Like um, Brenda, no one needs that much information about their sex life. These two were really not show much in this episode, but I'm not a Lucy/Kevin fan anyway so I don't really care.

SIMON: Oh Simon. You didn't learn anything over the summer. You're still with Rose, and you still claim to be 'in love'. Yeah right. I want Simon to dump Rose, as we all do, ASAP. Their dialogue and scenes together are boring and quite frankly, pointless. We all know Rose is a condescending, rude, ignorant, selfish witch, and I for one am tired of seeing her on this show. I let her bug me too much, it's just that Simon can do better and I hate seeing Simon act so vulnerable. But other than that, there was nothing new with them that we didn't already know, except Rose is so evil she is responsible for Simon switching majors to Business Law. I was actually anxious to see Simon become a film director but I can also see him as a business person. He was always good with money.

MARTIN: Ok this storyline is just way too unrealistic, yet it is typical 7th Heaven. We just HAVE to be forced to watch yet another teenage pregnancy on this show, don't we? And not just by anyone, but by Haylie Duff. And if that weren't enough, Martin is the one who had premarital sex with her. MARTIN, Mr. Saint who didn't even think kissing was a good idea last year. This is so far beyond unrealistic. First of all, what happened to Zoe? Secondly, how did meeting Sandy turn into sex? Especially with Martin's dad home, and the fact that Martin was stupid enough not to even use protection?? WTF??

But the WORST part was when Martin refused to help her. Okay, yeah the girl may be a liar, a whore, and much more, but still...don't be such a jerk, Martin. Help the poor girl out, for goodness sake. Not everything revolves around you, and you did make the mistake, so be a man and step up to your mistake and take responsibility for what YOU did to YOURSELF.

I really hate this storyline. I still like Martin's character but I'm not so sure he's my favorite anymore. Is Simon now the saint good boy and Martin's the evil guy who has premarital sex?? Hello, writers? It's called continuity. Start using it.

CARLOS: I'm so glad we saw Carlos, but come on...show more Carlos and Charlie than Simon/Rose in like every scene. I'm really anxious to see more Carlos this season, and also get to the bottom of his reasons for the divorce. See...why can't Carlos become a regular over that Meredith girl? No one cares about her, and come on...at least Carlos is (or was) part of the actual Camden family! Of course there's no point in asking Jessica Biel to return, b/c I pretty much know the answer to that statement.

RUTHIE/JACK: To me, Jack looks like 21 years old; and Ruthie has always bad taste in guys. First Peter, then Vincent, now this guy, whom I don't think looks good with Ruthie at all. He's way too old, and even with the new bangs (which I hate by the way) Mackenzie Rosman still looks only 15. Anyway, this little subplot of Ruthie and Meredith 'trading' Jack and Martin is weird. Like what world is Brenda living in? Real people don't act like this. "I'll be there when Meredith breaks up with him..." and "He's free and I'll take him." Seriously who talks like that? Is this the dating service all over again? Plus why are Jack and Meredith even part of this show? What relevance do either one of them possibily have to this show? I'm glad Ruthie has a friend, but it's not a necessity, especially now that we have THREE additional new female characters, and Meredith is the one that is NOT important to the show. The actress is fine, but the storyline is not. Get rid of Meredith, soon. She can make guest appearances, but that's it.

I still can't believe they have yet to resolve this Martin/Ruthie relationship, if there even is one. I've pretty much given up hope of ever seeing one, although I hope there is one, just to get rid of Meredith and Jack.

OTHERS: As for the Brinos, David is doing better...Sam's still a little harder to understand. But I don't really care about them anyway.

But the biggest disappointment of all was the lack of The Colonel and Ruth. Every synopsis I read; every summary I read, all of them said they would appear. Imagine how I felt (and others, I'll bet) when see that neither name is listed in their guest starring list. VERY disappointing.

Finally, the Mary-talk. Enough all ready. She and Carlos got a divorce; stop treating Mary like she's the spawn of Satan and you can never pick up the damn phone to find out why she even got the divorce in the first place. I'm so tired of them talking about Mary...if it's talk about her job, her independent life, or updates on her life...then great. If it's to continue to criticize her, or to make yourselves feel like a failure b/c she got a divorce, like so many couples do nowadays, then don't even bother mentioning her. It's that simple. Keep your thoughts to yourself.

Also, I did like Eric's musical scene in the beginning. Great way to start the 10th season premiere. I don't like Ruthie's new look at all, although I guess she does look a little older. Finally, it's nice to see that Mary still is looking out a little for Charlie's needs. So she's not so terrible after all. They really need to tell us why they got the divorce, b/c I'm getting the distinct impression it's more than Carlos is telling. Great way for Jessica Biel to return, but I know she probably won't.

The ending was okay...if only Martin and Sandy had more chemistry. I guess we have to wait to see what happens next week. Speaking of which, it looks actually decent. However, it's a Kevin-centered episode, so I'll hold my breath until next Monday.

    QUOTE:

    NOTES AND TIDBITS:

    - No Matt in this season premiere. I miss Matt. I hope Barry Watson returns, but this time, with an actual storyline.

    - Three new characters to the credits is absolutely ridiculous. Neither three are bad actresses, but come on...

    - The twins still do not impress me yet. Maybe I'm just hard, but by 7, you'd think they could at least talk a little bit coherently.

    - Brenda Hampton, if all you can come up with nowadays is teenage sex and pregnancy, then it's time to call this show quits. This show isn't a PSA not to have sex, it's supposed to be a family drama. Please start taking that into consideration.
  • I loved it!

Lucy's sermon is extra long. Meredith is interested in Martin and Martin is interested in her. Jack, Meredith's boyfriend, seems interested in Ruthie and Ruthie is also interested in Jack. Simon, Rose and Sandy (Rose's friend) come down to visit. Martin and Sandy slept together while Martin visited Simon's school. The Colonel and Ruth are coming and that's when Eric decides to tell them about Mary and Carlos. Carlos and Charlie come for a visit. Rose wants to tell Simon's grandparents about them. Sandy is pregnant.

This was a great episode! I like the addition of Haylie Duff! I don't really like Rose too much though. I can't believe that Martin slept with Sandy! He said that he was going to wait until marriage. Now, he's going to be a father. I think season 10 is where Martin starts going downhill. I really don't like him much in seasons 10 and 11. This episode gets a 10 out of 10!
  • Happy 200th 7th!. You don't look a day over 199.

A new season begins. The big number 10. Not only that, but the premiere was also the show's 200th episode. A big accomplishment. But the premiere itself was nothing really special, and I was hoping for something along the lines of the show's 100th episode. But there was really nothing. Adding to the disappointment was that the Colonel and Ruth were nowhere to be seen. I was under the impression that they were going to be in the episode. What was that all about?. The 10th season premiere was a pretty tame, laid back affair. Nothing gigantic or monumental. It wasn't a really bad episode, but it was just nothing special either. It felt like it could of come at any point during the season. But reaching a decade and 200 episodes is an achievement that cannot be overlooked. For that alone it should commended. It's always exciting when a new season begins, and to come back to a show to see if anyone looks different or if the new opening credits are new. The credits are always new, and this year is no exception. The problem is that there are three new added people to the opening credits. Sarah Thompson(Rose), Haylie Duff(Sandy), and Megan Henning(Meredith). Is this shades of season seven and eight?. I sure hope not. Thompson and Duff I can see(but still don't want)because they will probably be in a number of episodes, but Henning?. Why?. She was barely even in the episode. I really hope it doesn't become like seasons 7 and 8 when everyone and their friend's uncle got into the opening credits. Anyways, season 10 opens quietly(just like season 9 ended), but it's much better than the previous season finale. So, how did the Camden family open their big 10th anniversary season?. Read on...

Martin. When did Martin become an idiot?. Now, I am not necessarily talking about him having sex and possibly getting Sandy pregnant, although I will touch on that in a moment. But Martin just changed here. I can't fault him for having sex. Why would I?. But it's other things here that were bizarre and out of character. I always thought that Martin was pretty mature, but all of a sudden, he is treated here and presented in a way that was not mature. Simon says that Martin isn't, and he sure isn't shown that way. When Sandy tells him that she is late, he backs off and just lets her deal with it and wants nothing to do with it. I thought this was out of character. I'm sure anyone would freak when you get unexpected news like that, but I would of assumed that the Martin that has been on this show would of been more responsible than that. Would of cared more. He just brushes it off and leaves it to Sandy. I was surprised with that. But what really made Martin seem more like a moron, and a changed character, was when Lucy comes to talk to him and he calls her a "priest, or whatever you call it". At that point, I was like 'what's going on here?'. Martin, you are not an idiot. You should know better. It's these kinds of things that bothered me more than just having sex with Sandy. But let's touch on that subject. Martin has always had his values and morals and he was waiting for marriage to have sex. Here, we find out that he slept with this girl over the summer that he barely even knew. This was out of character, but like Martin said, it wasn't planned. It just kind of happened. I can't fault him or blast him for that because he's right. There are things that just can't be planned, and things that just happen. It's life. But if Sandy is pregnant(?), then they must of been unsafe. There's a chance you can get pregnant even if you are safe, but this was never made clear. Martin had sex. Fine. Whatever. But was he smart enough to use protection?. These are details that the show always overlooks and never tells. The storyline was done much better than I had originally thought it would be. Brenda Hampton has been on the "pre-marital sex" bandwagon, and I thought this would of been in our face. But it really wasn't. It just irks me that we get another teen pregnancy scare. Have sex out of wedlock, and you get pregnant. Have sex out of wedlock, and you will get an STD. We know that Brenda is against sex before marriage, but she needs to know that anything can happen with sex that you might not want even if you are married. She isn't being very subtle with it, but the storyline here was better than I thought. I don't know where I want to see this go just yet.

The Colonel and Ruth are coming for a visit(finally!), and they don't yet know about all the recent news concerning Mary. Eric tries to think of everything he can to avoid telling them the news. He has it all planned out. Sadly, Peter Graves and Barbara Rush do not appear in the episode, although it kept saying that they would appear. This was what I was looking forward too the most!. Eric's plans go up in smoke when Carlos appears with Charlie. Now Eric will almost have to tell his parents the news since Carlos is there and there is no Mary. What bugs me is that Carlos made Matt tell his parents, and now won't help Eric in telling his parents. Carlos, this is your predicamanet. Time to grow a backbone and take care of some it yourself. And Eric, you know how it will end. Just suck it up and let it out and get it over with. I know the Colonel can be quite an intimidating man, but it's best if things just got out. Eric has done this before, and he should know better than to keep things hidden. It's always best to get it out in the open and be done with it. With no Mary around, I hope we see more or Carlos and Charlie.

The most uninteresting aspect of the show was with Ruthie. I didn't even really bother to follow that much. Ruthie likes this guy that Meredith is dating, and she wants Meredith to hook up with Martin. Or something like that. At this point, it was the same wishy washy stuff that has grown tiresome. The hysterical part about this storyline is that the guy in question looked like a huge dork to me. Ruthie really wants him?. Why?. And Mackenzie Rossman, the new hair is great. Most improved.

Lucy makes her first real sermon at the church, and it's a snoozer. It was too long, and her comments about working mothers anger many in the congregation. Even Annie was upset by it. This storyline was discarded pretty early, and the rest was Lucy and Kevin in their new house with Kevin telling Lucy that he loves doing this, wants more, and would gladly leave his job to be a stay at home dad. Okay. The kitchen of their new house is really nice. They didn't show much of anything else, or even filmed most of the kitchen, but it looked real nice from what I saw. I hope we see more and it's not just this little shot of them always in their kitchen.

Simon and Rose didn't do much for me either. Rose was a tad more tolerable this time, but not by much. She keeps pressuring Simon into getting her a ring, and upping the wedding date. Simon plans on an official engagement this May, followed with the wedding the May after. Which would mean a Simon Camden wedding for the 11th season(possibly final season)finale. David Gallagher was pretty good in the episode, and Sarah Thompson could be more tolerable if Rose was written to be a bit more likeable.

In the end, the 10th season premiere was pretty average. Not a bad episode, but a slow moving one. What was good?. The new opening credits were great. Despite the new additions, the new credits were great, and they are better than last year's. The new hair do's are great as well. Mack's is great, Catherine has a nice bob, and Beverly has gone blonder. All look great. Eric singing Ricky Nelson's "It's Late" in his robe with his guitar was cool as well. Any time you get Eric musical, it's always a plus. And Stephen sounds great on those songs. And the ending with Carlos was all good. I just wish the Colonel and Ruth were actually in the episode, and that there was something more monumental for it being the 200th episode. All in all, not a bad episode, just nothing more than average.
  • This episode was great! Sandy's actually become a fave character of mine, honestly.

    "Perfect"
Sandy Jameson, a college student, is introduced in this episode. She is shocked to find out she is pregnant, with Martin Brewer, of all people, being the father. We find out later in the series that what she did with Martin was actually a way of trying to impress Simon Camden, who's trying to plan a wedding with his fiancee, Rose.

Rose isn't exactly my definition of a good person. She's a little selfish, if you want to know my honest opinion. Sandy... well, she's another story. I find her to simply be confused, especially towards the middle of the episode.

Martin doesn't quite know what to do for Sandy. It seems as if he cares, but doesn't know how to react to such big news. But, if you think about it in his perspetive, wouldn't you be shocked and a little confused, too?
  • Great opening to the show - seeing rev camden \"getting his mood up\" was a classic beginning to a monumental tenth season.

Like I said, the opening was a classic - I love that song, never get tired of hearing it. Well, where to begin - lots going on in this episode; new characters, new stories most notable the one involving Rose\'s friend Sandie and Martin. From Lucy\'s first sermon not going down well with the congregation to Eric\'s desperate efforts to keep the truth from coming out about Mary and Carlos from his parents, made this season opener a delight to watch from start to finish.
  • oh my god! i loved this episode for many reasons....i can't believe martin! he was such a JERK!!!

    9.8
    "Superb"
This episode was very good. I liked the fact Sandy didn't explode into telling him she might be pregnant, that she did it when she was alone with him, and calmly. I thought it was odd when Sandy and martin had the coversation "i'm late" Wahen martin was like "you don't think..." and sandy was like "yea, i do." and then MArtin was like "couldn't it be for another reason?" and sandy was like "Sorry hun, but no. This is what it is." but that wasn't weird, what was weird to me is that martin was like "well, i'm not going to have anything to do with it." and sandy replied by saying "yea, except you had everything to do with it!" and then martin said "do what you want, whatever you want, i am not going to be apart of this." as if it wan't one bit his fault. if it was one of his friends at school he'd be the guy saying "you have to do whats right. You and only you decided to have pre-marital sex, so you should do the right thing." But he is acting like a jerk. i can't stand that Rose girl. She says she is sandys friend, but then lies about her to make herself feel better, like saying she is a slut that sleeps with every guy she dates, so this was bound to happen, but this is so far from true. i wont say sandy hasn't been around, but everyone has, right? I hated the way rose sounded when she found out Sandy was pregnant and she says to simon like 8 times "we better get married before they do!!!!!!!" and i was like.."Whoah, major whorebag bitch! i think it is funny ruthie will be like a little teen mary, or as eric put it "teenage daughter HELL!" it would make sense since lucy is perfect with her perfect (not to mention GORGEOUS) hubby, her beautiful baby savannah, and her dream job, what more could she want? that is why i dont think the writers dont want everything to be perfect, which is why MARTIN is the one who got Sandy pregnant. I saw someone wrote in thier review there was too many stories, and the writers should stick to one story, but i personally think that is the good thing about this show. That is realistic. There isn't just one story going on in my life. there are many challanges and problems i face each day, but i get over it one way or another, and this is what the show is about. BAby charlie (carlos and marys baby) is S0 adorable!!! i wish simon would end up with cecilia, they were So cute together. too bad they broke up. i wish martin would take responsibility and i wish simon would brake up with EViL rose. I wish sandy had martin to go through this with, i mean it isn't HER fault, she isnt innocent in the making of tis baby but still. i think sandy will have twins, either a boy and a girl, or 2 girls.

    ok BYE!!! !! ! ! ! ! !
  • First disappoint this series ever gave me!

Last season I was applauding the fact that Martin told Simon how wrong he was to have premarital sex, and then this first episode of the 10th season we learn that Martin lost his virginity to someone he did not know, does not like, and that it "just happened!" I don't buy it! This episode sucked and if this is a precursor of the season to come, this will be a show I will lose all interest it. An to make things worse, it seems that Martin's first and only sexual encounter has led to pregnancy! What are the odds? Pretty big I'd say. Martin had sex with a college junior, three years his senior, who had been sexually active for years, and this is the only time she gets pregnant? Unlikely! A person this experienced, and who has had many sexual encounters without pregnancy would very likely be either on the pill, or is used to using a condom, or both! Disregard this episode! It is total crap!
  • The kids grow up

    8.1
    "Great"
This show is good for younger kids. The Camden kids make all the stupid mistakes that kids make and the viewing audience sees how thing turn out. Martin's predicament illistrates what can happen when kids make non-planned decisions. Though he wasn't going to have sex before marriage me did and suffers the consequenses.
  • The episode certaintly wasn't perfect, and Ruthie and Martin were acting a bit out of character (for the worse). Rose has gotten a little better. All in all, I believe "7th Heaven" is starting to save itself. (It was getting pretty bad there for a while.)

    9.2
    "Superb"
So, the season 10 premiere ("It's Late") was pretty good, don't you guys think? I had thought 7th Heaven was just going to keep getting worse and worse, but apparently it has a possibility of saving itself. Not perfect, but with very few problems. It's become more believable that Simon loves Rose, and Rose has become a bit more likable. Martin was out of character a little too much in this episode. Why would he have sex without thinking it through first? He seemed to have made up his mind with Cecilia, but I guess the 7th Heaven writers can't help but add another teen pregnancy storyline. Has this unfortunate consequence happened to all of their kids, or something? And why would Martin call Lucy a "priest"? Or be so uncaring about Sandy (EVEN when she said she was late!) when he cared enough to sleep with her on the first date! And Ruthie... where do I begin? Interested in "getting" guys just to have them? Attracted to an older guy? And yelling at her father about his parenting? What happened? She isn't that cruel and selfish, and much too intelligent (although apparently she's gotten a bit stupider since her younger days) to criticize her parents' rules on dating. Come on, Ruthie!

I did like how there was some continuity in storylines, though. Meredith (and her siblings) has(have) been adopted into Cecilia's family, and they actually show up again. Simon's love of money has been mentioned again (The Bank of Simon was his previous nickname), and the fact that he was majoring in film(where did that come from?!). Mary has been mentioned, and the way that Eric and the family deal with "The Colonel" is the same. Also the idea of the twins telling the grandparents as a fear is just like Ruthie and the fact that Julie was pregnant. All in all, wonderful!
  • This episode sucked!

Ok...this episode was just 'ugh'! I mean come on! Ok, Lucy is just crappy at being a minister! She was long and boring and her talking took up like what seemed like most of the freaken episode!!!! Then, Martin figures out he's gonna be a daddy and like doesn't even care. Now, that pisses me off! Martin was always supposed to be Mr. Goody-Goody Two-Shoes Don't Have Pre-Marital Sex!! Well, guess what Mr. Goody-Goody??? You got a girl you barely knew and don't like pregnant!! And, your explanation is, "It just...happened!" That was lamo!!!! AND then...Kevin is acting like a fuggen weirdo!!! Calling from the police station making kissy-wissy-SISSY faces on the phone and then when Detective Michaels puts him on an assignement, he says in some strange voice, "I have my daughter waiting at home." Was that supposed to be like a wanna-be classic line???? It just looked gay!! This show was a total dissapointment. If the season continues on like this, I refuse to watch it. WB you dissapoint me!
  • No Martin! Not you! Well, this season should be interesting...Atleast Haylie Duff isn't that bad.

    9.0
    "Superb"
Before I start this review I must say that I actually really liked this episode. I was really upset over some of the storylines that came out of this episode, but it was good nonetheless. I'll go through each storyline one at a time, saving Martin and Sandy for last (grrr).

*Lucy, Kevin, and Savannah~ First I will say that I didn't really find them necessary in this episode, except for Lucy's little talk with Martin. I thought that the whole "too long, too personal" sermon storyline really unrealistic. I don't think that people would be that rude to their associate pastor and I don't think everyone would be running out of the church like maniacs. Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest? Where do you all have to go in such a hurry? Also, Kevin was completely unneeded in this episode. All I have to say is that Kevin and Lucy better not have another baby so we don't have to waist a perfectly good episode watching another Cam-Birth. I did like Lucy's talk with Martin. It was really wonderful how he could speak to her, even if he didn't exactly tell the whole truth, and it was good that she cared enough to listen and give advice on his dating troubles.

*Annie, Eric, Carlos, etc.~ I was so happy to see Carlos and little Charlie! It was a pleasant surprise. I thought the Ruth and Colonel backstory was kind of boring. I was a teensy bit happy that Colonel didn't actually show up in the episode. I never really cared for him that much.

*Simon & Rose~ Eww. Rose go away! I guess that won't be happening since she's in the opening credits. Darn! Oh well, atleast she has good taste in rings. I think she should keep her curious, sorta annoying, nose out of Sandy and Martin's business. Same with Simon, though he was much better about it.

*Ruthie, Jack, and Meredith~ Here we go again. Another possibe boyfriend for the youngest Camden female (if you don't count Savannah, who really isn't a Camden anyway). Jack does not seem like a good boyfriend for Ruthie. He looks sneaky to me, but, hey, I don't know the guy...and neither does Ruthie for that matter. This whole boyfriend sway with Martin, Jack, Ruthie, and Meredith is kinda weird. Martin has never shown interest in Meredith before and I don't like the idea of them together (maybe that's because I'm a huge Ruthin (Ruthie/Martin) shipper). On that note, let me discuss the little Ruthie/Martin scene, which was definately put in there to give those of us out there hope that they will still get together. It was cute and there was definately a twinge of jealousy there (Martin: You don't have to have a boyfriend, especially that guy).

*Martin & Sandy~ Now I must discuss my least favorite, but really interesting, storyline of the episode and the season. I won't say much, except that I thought it was really out of character for Martin to go on one date with a girl probably 3 or 4 years older than him and do the deed. I was really dissapointed by that and also how he was almost refusing to help with the baby. Sandy was also stupid to have s** on the first date as well. She doesn't bug me as much as Rose, though, so I'll give her that.

    I give this episode a 9/10.

    ODDS & ENDS:

*I must comment on the hair of the cast: I liked Ruthie hair, it made her look very grown up, I didn't like Annie's, Simon's was good too, and I like Haylie Duff as a brunette.

*I was pleasantly surprised by Haylie Duff's acting skills. Bravo!

*What was with Ruthie and Martin's little CIA talk? Oh no, not another miscellaneous character storyline, where Martin is forced to move in again.

*By the look on both Sandy and Martin's faces, I'm guessing she's preggers. I wonder if Martin is really the father, or if Simon is....I guess we'll see.

Oh my god. The season premeire was so great! I loved it. I mean it could have been better but it was still a great episode. I want to see what happens with Lucy because no one really likes her as the associate pastor. I also want to see if she actually does have another baby. I dont think they can handle another child. I cant wait to see Lucy's face when Kevin tells her that he quit his job. I think this upcoming episode is going to be very interseting, Kevin getting shot out and not telling Lucy, and him quiting his job without discussing it with Lucy. I think Ruthie should slow down on her love with boys. She's becoming another Mary ant that just can't happen. I love Davids new haircut. He is so cute like that. He looks like he's 10! I hate Annie's new haircut. It looks horrible. She looks really old and her face is all wrinkly. I think the opening episode turned out really good. I really want to see what happens with Martin and Sandy and what are they going to do if she really is pregnant. I hope Simon and Rose dont move up the engagement! Good luck and Best Wishes this season. I love you all 7th heaven.
  • Happy 200th episode! I believe I have seen the same stories 200 times!!!

Well 7th heaven has covered it all over the past 10 seasons. We have watched all the Camdens grow up. We have watched how each one has changed over the years. We have been there by their side from Lucy's first period to her wedding, from Mary's first boyfriend to her divorce, from the bank of Simon to his STD. But it is time that the show retires.

This episode proves that. We see the same story lines over and over. I am so tired of teen sex! As for Martin and Sandy, I hate the storyline. Martin is not that kind of guy. He was never portrayed as someone that would consider having sex before marriage. Why did this change all of a sudden? I think Haylie Duff is an okay actress but i hate the character.

As for Simon and Rose, get out while you can. SHe has to be the most annoying girl on television. She is so bossy and overbearing. Bring Denna back, bring cecila back anyone except Rose!

As for Ruthie...She has always been my favorite Camden, but I am getting tired of the boy crazyness and again this is how we start the new season...Ruthie chasing an older guy!! But I do like her new look, she looks so much older.

I like the conreversy with Lucy and her sermon. She pretty much pissed the whole church off in one Sunday and never made a point. I aggree with Kevin the home life should be personnel!

I was really glad to see Carlos and the baby in this episode but i waited all night for the grandparents that never arrived. Sam and David are talking a little better.

All in all this episode was not bad but defiently not season premire material. Fire Brenda or make this the last season...She is lying she really has NO more stories to tell!

  • This episode gets a nice solid letter grade of a "B" from me. Of course I am still trying to figure out if I really thought this episode was that good or if it's just my excitment talking.

    "Great"
After a very long wait, the 10th season is underway. I was so anxious to finally be able to see a new episode of 7th Heaven again. In my opinion, the premiere didn't disappoint on the whole at least.

Lucy/Kevin: I noticed some people were disappointed that Lucy and Kevin weren't shown remodeling their house. I personally am glad that wasn't shown. No offense, but this IS 7th Heaven, not Trading Spaces. Others were disappointed that Lucy/Kevin didn't get more screen time. I personally was pleased with the amount of screen time they got. If less screen time means less being subjected to Lucy/Kevin fights, then I think the saying less is better is certainly true in this case. Kevin wants to have another child. Oh God! Are we going to be subjected to another season of a pregnancy? Not only that but the wrath of a pregnant Lucy? If I was able to choose, I'd say thanks but no thanks. Was it just me or was Lucy's sermon confusing? I mean at one point in time, she was saying how stay-at-home moms contribute to the family just like the working father, the next thing I know she is talking about how child experts say that working moms are better than stay-at-home moms.

Eric/Annie: They didn't really have much of a purpose in this particular episode. I liked the opening with Eric singing. I mean at least it wasn't Kevin singing ( Why did I remind myself of that?). Although I was kind of disappointed that Eric was lip synching. He is actually one of the cast members who can carry a tune, so I would've loved to hear him actually sing instead. Poor Annie. She seemed ticked off after hearing Lucy's sermon. I agree with her. It did seem like Lucy was saying that she was to blame for Simon and Mary turning out "rotten". So let me get this straight. Eric doesn't want Ruthie dating Jack because he is a senior and she is a sophomore. Also Jack "isn't as nice as Martin". If that isn't a blatant display of favoritism, I don't know what is. Oh, and isn't Martin also a senior? If you're going to play the age card Reverend to prevent Ruthie from dating Jack, then it's only fair you do the same thing for Martin. What is it with Eric and trying to shove off the responsiblity of breaking the bad news to anybody but himself? In this episode alone, he wanted Lucy to be the one to break the bad news, and when that didn't work he tried to get Carlos to be the bearer of bad news. Be a man Reverend! Don't ask people to do something you are not willing to do yourself!

Simon/Rose: I have to agree with the 7th Heaven fandom. Simon and Rose were in practically every other scene that didn't include Martin and Sandy. What makes this unenjoyable is Rose. I can deal with lots of scenes with Simon since he is one of my favorite characters, but I can't stand Rose. Simon's right. Rose is "demanding, selfish, and controlling". I think Rose is a negative influence on Simon. I'm glad that Simon is the Simon we have grown to love this season. Last season, for the majority of the season, Simon was a jerk who wanted nothing to do with his family. Why do I have this horrible feeling that Rose is going to pressure Simon into getting engaged and married before they had planned? I wish Simon wouldn't feel guilty for Martin losing his virginity. It wasn't his fault. Martin and Sandy have to take responsibility for their actions.

Ruthie/Jack/Meredith: First of all, I want to say that I am glad that Ruthie and Meredith had become friends. It's about time Ruthie has a female friend. Last season, Ruthie was practically always shown with Harry, Vincent, Mac, or Martin depending on what point in the season we are talking about. Jack does not look like a senior. He looks like he's in his twenties. Ugh. I really hope Jack and Ruthie don't start dating. At least Vincent and Harry looked closer to Ruthie's age. Don't get me wrong though. I am glad that Harry and Vincent have vanished from the 7th Heaven universe. It's not too surprising that Meredith is interested in Martin. If you think back to the first episode where we were introduced to Meredith ("Why Not Me?" of last season), recall how Meredith said she wouldn't mind sharing a house with Martin. Yeah, so I could definitely tell as soon as she said that that she was interested in Martin. I'm still hoping for a Ruthie/Martin hookup, but a part of me knows better than to get my hopes up after hoping for a Ruthie/Martin hookup ever since the last season.

Martin/Sandy: Ok, for me the biggest shocker of this premiere was the fact that Martin had lost his virginity. It seems so out of character for him. Correct me if I'm wrong, but last season didn't Martin say he was going to wait until he was married to have sex? Martin strikes me as the type of individual that sticks to his morals and values, but apparently I was mistaken. What is it with this show and sex? Why does this show have to have all teenagers have sex? I mean it may be realistic or whatnot, but I liked the contrast last season between Simon and Martin's character, but now they are lumped together in the same group with all semblance of contrast gone. On the other hand though, it does make Martin's character more interesting. I mean the whole goody two-shoes persona was somewhat boring. I didn't think Sandy's acting was all that bad. That surprised me. I still don't know what to think of her character though. I guess that's because I don't really know that much about her character. I have to say though that I hate how she corrupted Martin. Still though a part of me sympathizes with Sandy and her situation. I found it odd how Martin seems to not want to be taking responsibility for his actions. He seems to not want to have anything to do with Sandy even though he may be the father of her child. If it turns out he is, then I think he should step up and take responsibility and be a father to his child. Him not wanting to take responsibility also strikes me as being out of character. However, I have this feeling that Martin isn't the father. I believe that Simon is the father and that once Rose finds out, she and Simon will break up. I mean Sandy did say that she and Simon had sex before Simon met Rose.

I found myself laughing at certain parts of the episode like the congregation running out of church as soon as Lucy finished her sermon. Also, Sam dropping his bible after having fallen asleep during Lucy's sermon and asking "Is she done yet?" Then there's the part where Eric said "Your mom and I just love seeing the three of you pretend you're shooting each other" referring to Sam and David playing soldier with the Colonel. Next week's episode looks like it will be Kevin-centric. Given that Kevin is one of my if not my least favorite character, I am not looking forward to it.
  • This episode was a great way to start out the 10th Season!!!!!!!

    10
    "Perfect"
The writers on the 7th Heaven staff lie up to every expectation you have for the show and beyond! In the 10th season opener they finally deal with the issue of teen pregnancy with someone that the viewers have learned to love. Martin up to this point has been a good child who believed in staying abstinent, and in one night apparently he had a case of bad judgement and had sex with a girl on the first date. This episode shows teenagers that it doesnt matter how often you do it, even if you do it just once, u can still get pregnant. now martin will be stuck with a lifetime of regret for one moment of happiness.

also it seems that ruthie is starting to follow in her siblings foot steps in given her parents ths burden of teenage dating. ruthie and her friend are now swapping boyfriends with her friend merideth. and on top of that the boy is older then her which ,akes it 10 times harder on her parents

Lucy has never learned how to express her feelings right, even after all these years. in this episode she gives a surmon on mothers and their working lives which several members of the church tend to disagree with and now she has to deal with the outcome.

For a reverend and his family the Camdens sure lie and sneak around alot. Summer has passed and Eric and Annie still havnt told Eric's parents of Mary and Carlos getting a divorce. now they are coming to visit and they are planning ahead how to avoid having to telling his parents about it.

All i can say is if the rest o the season is going to be as good as the season premiere then i cant wait!!!!!
  • Awesome Show, a little out of character for Martin but this show faces off what most kids go through in reality.

Simon and Rose come home, Rose brings her friend Sandy(Haylie Duff). Simons finds out through Rose that while Martin was visiting him this summer he and Sandy slept together. Sandy is worried that she might be pregnant. She tells Martin and they go and buy a test. It doenst look good.

Carlos and baby come to town to visit the family, on the same day that Eric's parents are coming into town. The Camden's are wanting to tell Eric's parents about Mary and Carlos' divorce.

Lucy gives a vey long sermon at church that angers many of the people in the congregation, the sermon was about working mothers.

Rose pressurs Simon about getting engaged and getting married sooner.

The episodes ends with Simon and Rose sitting at the Prominant looking over at Sandy and Martin, they look very upset and she looks as if she has been crying. When "To be continued" comes onto the screen!
  • Rose wants to announce official engagment-martin Lost his Virginity to a girl he doesn't even like and now has consequences,Ruthie wants to date a high-school guy,Carlos comes home with Charlie, and Lucy reeps from her bombing sermon and now may be forced

my thought for this episode is,"why didn't you address season finale stuff?"if i had a chance to talk to the writers.

Yeah, this is a good starting for the season, but not its best work as of late.

This show is my Favorite all time TV show i'd die and let everything go to see,but this ep just wasn't worth all the cake, but i still did DVD record it for my collection though.
  • 7th Heaven is one of the finest shows on TV.

7th Heaven is one of the finest shows on TV. It is the one show that can truly make me think about values and ethics. Every family has problems not withstanding the Camdens. This show should continue to go on, and shows like Survivor anf the bachelor should be taken off the air alont with all of the other stupid reality shows. It is an embarrassment to TV.
  • Good Start to the 10th Season!

This was a perfect why to start this season even though i respect David Galliger as a actor i don't like the character of Simon anymore and the character of Ruthie is growing up to fast otherwise i like how they gave the character Martin a little bit of a storyline and hopefully next week we can find out if he really fathered Cellica baby otherwise this episode was a great why to start season 10 can't wait for more episodes!
  • Ruthie as the next Mary? Another pregnancy? Lucy doesn't know if she can handle being a mom and working

    7.0
    "Good"
This was a very disappointing tenth season premiere. I think the only good thing was seeing Carlos and Charlie! Ruthie is starting to act like Mary did as a teen. This is clearly what the writers are trying to state that they don’t want to happen. Simon’s girlfriend/fiancé in a whinny brat who only cares that someone else doesn’t get married before them. Rose (Haylie Duff) pregnant by Martin isn’t the best storyline for this “family” show. All in all I found it very hard to watch. Oh, Sam and David are cute with their front teeth missing. Lets hope the conclusion is better than this episode!
  • Lousy!

    0.0
    "None"
  • All of the characters on the show have decided to lose common sense and brains while they're acting all different that usual. It has changed from the original quite a lot yet once again Annie and Reverand Camedan are stuck with too much!

    7.5
    "Good"
Ruthie wants to date a guy without her father's permission and sasses quite nastily; Reverand Camedan's parents are coming in and they need to break the news Mary is divorced; Martin may have gotten her girl pregnant; Kevin is risking his job for Suzanna; Lucy is pressured out and getting into fights (but at least she has a new home); Simon is getting married but his girlfriends wants to get married "first"; and Annie and Reverand Camedan are stuck with (almost) all of the problem-solving themselves.

None of the characters are themselves ad actually using their brains except Matt who wasn't metnioned in this episode.

Why can't Mary get a happily ever after? Why is Martin sleeping with a random girl in college? Why? Why? Why? Some of it doesn't make sense as the premiere is continued for an (hopefully) explained conclusion.

Yet the real shocker in this is the end where Carlos shows up on their doorstep with Charles and you realize...Mary doesn't really care about her kid. It's all Carlos raising that kid.
  • This episode was a good way to start out the season.

    9.0

This episode was a good way to start out the season, but it was kind of dragging. I think that they should have made the twins more apart of the episode. It also seems as if Rose became more nice. She was better mean. It gave the show a bad character which all shows need. The next episode looks really good and jaw dropping. I can't wait. I think that there needs to be more drama. The episodes have kind of slipped a little from what they used to be. Mary made the show interesting. They need to make it like that again. She was hit by a car, thought to be pregnant, was taken to a hotel, she vandalized a gym and was arrested, and she went behind her parents and got married. BRING BACK MARY!!!
