In short, there are four basic plot lines. In the first plot line, Mary gets back together with a guy (Robbie Palmer) who tried to coerce her into making love with him a few months ago. Mary's parents are extremely agitated by this since they believe she shouldn't trust Robbie Palmer. Her father loses his cool and actually swears (even though he is suppose to be a priest) but her mother seems somewhat indifferent to the whole matter. Eventually, Mary tells them that she doesn't want to go to college because she wants to be with Robbie Palmer. Her dad is furious but shocked at the same time. In the second plot line, Lucy has two guys going for her and she wants to be with one guy (Ronald) but Andrew (the other guy) is desperate to be with her and Lucy becomes confused about everything. In the third plot line, Simon is dumped by his girlfriend Deena and Deena gives inconsistent excuses as to why she dumped him. Simon is confused because he is totally in love with Deena. Finally, Matt isn't sure which girl he wants to be with and has to choose between Heather and Shana. Shana really loves him but was cheating on him but wants to make it up to him. Matt is confused. The kids are party animals. I think the point is to show the viewers (especially kids) how bad these kids are and maybe the message will get across. But the reality is that no family (especially one associated to the church) has one kid landing in jail, another smoking pot, another smoking ciggarette's and another making out with every guy she knows. Absolutely unbelievable. The father's done a pretty good job to keep is cool but obviously blows the roof sometimes. Anyway it's a pretty nice show especially how the kids rebel against their parents. But you'll eventually get tired of the same basic plot line. Until then enjoy!moreless
  • I love the fact that in the midst of all these things ruthie decides she\\\'s going to use this little boy to get her gifts. That has to be one of my favorite thing about it.moreless

Aside from the fact that you want to cry for simmon, and hit mary in the head. You laugh becuase of ruthie and her new boyfriend. Its really one of the reasons i watch this show, I love it becuase it\\\'s not strictly one episode filled with drama its comedy mixxed in.
