  • Great episode!

It's Valentine's Day and the twin's birthday. Simon and Deena give each other hickies. Matt and Shana break up. Robbie can't be trusted. Ruthie is jealous of Sam and David, but Lucy helps her realize that giving out of love is good too! I can't believe that Robbie went from a really big jerk to a sweet caring guy! He is cheating on Mary, lying to her and her parents, and takes her to a motel to have sex! Mary is devasted! Simon and Deena show how much they care by giving each other "love bites." They learn that it wasn't smart and it's really embarassing. Lucy teaches Ruthie about love and giving. Heather is back in town and is spending time with Matt, who is confused about who he loves, Heather or Shana? Shana finds out about Heather and breaks up with Matt and hooks up with her roommate, Brett. I think this episode is full of heartwarming moments, tear-filled drama, and loving joy. A 10 out of 10.moreless
  • A sloppy episode.

    3.5
If you've watched 7th Heaven for four and a half season, you would definitely know Matt was way out of character. Seeing Heather behind Shana's back? Uhhh, that is so not Matt. Even if he was upset with his girl who's twenty-five hundred miles away, he wouldn't go to Heather. Actually, she was out of character too. Wouldn't she have told Matt off, something along the lines of "hey, no, you have a girlfriend. I don't care you're upset with her, talk to her first!" before going out on the date with Matt? That's what the Heather we've gotten to know would've said. The writers began ruining her character starting in this episode.

Now, onto the other part: Robbie. He was definitely out of character from the guy we've gotten to know over the past few months. Yes, there was that other episode. That, along with this, were clearly written in quickly if you watch enough times. Robbie would've never taken Mary to that motel to have sex. But I can see him telling her why he took her there, because he's not bad, it shows his true character-- the good guy inside him. Waste of time, if you ask me.

The only things I liked about this episode was the Lucy/Ruthie sister interaction. I love how most of the episode Ruthie felt she wasn't cared about or loved, and kept assuming Lucy was making a present for Sam and David. Turns out, in the end it was for her. I just loved seeing her face lighten up. It was adorable, Lucy/Ruthie have the best sibling chemistry on the show.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When Eric and Annie are cleaning up the living room, Mary comes in and talks with them. The phone rings, and about one second later, Lucy yells that the phone is for Mary. Lucy would have had barely enough time to say "hello", let alone found out who it was.

    • The license plate on Robbie's (Adam LaVorgna) car in this episode reads JKM548.

    • When Mary confess to her parents what happened between her and Robbie she cries and her eyes are red, but when they go upstairs to see what Ruthie prepared for the twins she doesn't seem like crying.

  • QUOTES (10)

    • (Matt notices Robbie out with another girl, while he is with Heather).
      Robbie: Hey Matt!
Matt Hey, having a good time without my sister?
Robbie: Um, pretty good yeah! Having a good time with Shana?

    • Ruthie: (about Simon) What? I don't know why he's wearing Lucy's shirt, but you can bet he's not dressed like a girl for nothing!

    • Simon: Mom, that dinner was delicious! Absolutely incredible, in fact, it's beyond words! I mean, as far as dinners go, I'd put it up there with my favorites!
Annie: Well, I didn't know that you were that crazy about salmon.
Simon: Oh, sure I am! And the vegetables, steamed to perfection!
Eric: Did you like dessert too?
      Simon: Dessert was the best!
      Eric: We didn't have dessert.
      Simon: Oh...right.

    • Mary (about Robbie) Everytime I talk to him, I feel like I have just jumped off a cliff and I'm helplessly falling and falling and falling.

    • Annie: (about Robbie's proposal for Mary on Valentine's Day) He just wants Mary to meet his parents!
Eric: (sarcastically) Yeah, I bet! Oh, did I say that out loud? I meant, oh it must be love!

    • Annie: Robbie called me. He has a big surprise planned for Mary's Valentine present!
Eric: (excitedly and sarcastically) He's moving cross country?

    • Heather: (about Matt and John's apartments) Nice place! I love the bunkbeds!

    • Ruthie: (about Sam and David's birthday) Why can't we just celebrate it today so we can keep Valentine's sacred?
Annie: Because Valentine's isn't sacred, but the birth of those boys was sacred, so the importance of their birthday outweighs Valentine's Day.
Ruthie: I'll be sure to let Hallmark know.

    • Eric: Think we might have time for a little Sunday afternoon nap?
      Annie: (laughs) Dream on!

    • Eric: Trust is a hard thing to get back once you've lost it.
