Ruthie rides far too well for someone who has (as far as we know) never been on a horse before. Probably be cause Mackenzie Rosman (who plays Ruthie) has a horse of her own and is an accomplished rider.
Ruthie: Guess what? I'm getting a pony! Eric: What pony? What are you talking about? Ruthie: I'm talking about the power of prayer! I asked God for a pony last night, and I'm sure I'm going to get one. Simon: (to Eric) Should you break the bad news, or should I? (Eric nods) You're not getting a pony. Eric: By "I," I meant me. (sighs) What he said. Ruthie: Why not? I prayed for it, and you said prayer has the power to change lives, so I'm changing mine with a pony. Eric: It doesn't work like that. Ruthie: Yes, it does. Simon asked for a dog, and he got Happy. Annie: Well, I got Happy. Simon: God got you to get Happy. Ruthie: So why can't God get me a pony? What's the difference, you big bunch of non-believers? I'm getting a pony! (runs upstairs) Simon: (to his parents) So which one of you is gonna take on that one?
Eric: (to the church congregation) Say a prayer for the millions of children in the world who have become victims of violence...ask God to help those children who are trying to recover from the death of playmate or friend or family member...pray for the children, that they might have peace...because if we won't stop the violence in our children's lives by taking the right actions and behaving responsibly, then the very least we owe them might be the most powerful thing we can give them, our prayers.
Eric: (to the congregation at church) My family has been talking a lot about prayer this week. The discussions began when I shared my feelings about a letter I received in the mail, sent anonymously...I will now pass the author's request on to you.
(Mary and Simon want Lucy to pray for them). Mary: Pray Robbie gets back in our family. Simon: Pray I get in with Deena's family. Lucy: I wouldn't tie up the God lines for either of those things.
This episode begins like a two part episode as Stephen Collins has a voice over and says "Previously on 7th Heaven..." and it shows scenes from Loves Me, Loves Me Not. Although it is not offically listed as a two part episode.
In Germany this episode is known as, Prayers, translated.
Mackenzie Rosman (Ruthie Camden) said in an interview that this is her *favorite* episode because she gets to ride a horse.
Ruthie: Is that your final answer?
Ruthie was making a reference to God on her front porch when praying to him for a pony. When she didn't see it on her front porch she said, "Is that your final answer!?". Those are the famous catch phrases of Regis Philbin from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
