7th Heaven

Matt comes home to celebrate the anniversary of his real marriage with Ruthie, but he doesn't want people to know he's back. Lucy sees Matt and freaks out! She tells Eric and Annie and they think that he got a divorce, dropped out of medical school, or both. Vic wants to marry Paris. He asks her out to dinner. She saw him buying engagement rings earlier and feels pressure. He lies and says that he was looking for a gift to say "thank you!" Peter then tells her afterward that he really did want to marry her.



This was a great episode! It was great seeing Richard and Rosina again! I like how Matt, Sarah, and Ruthie all share the little secret of their marriage. I really like Vic and Paris together! This episode gets a 10 out of 10!

Another February sweeps episode of 7th Heaven has come. Wow, we're now more than halfway through the new episodes! I hope it goes slower cause you know we're gonna pay for it with a ton of repeats to bear in March and April (oh the reruns!). And wow again, this was not a Valentine's episode---or at least not acknowledged one. Although, it might as well been one since a large part of the episode had elements of being one. I really loved this episode. Despite Barry Watson's return being sort of minor in this episode and a good portion of this episode focused on non-Camdens I just can't help but love this episode. I guess I'm in the minority on this one but Peter, Vic, and Paris have all grown on me. Let's break it down…



Matt, Ruthie and the nosy ones: Barry Watson (and alter-ego Matt), it's great to have you back man! Wow, again, 3 out of the 5 Camden kids were on the show. It just makes the show better the more Camden kids are in it now. Although I wish the writers brought Matt back on better circumstances. It doesn't seem likely that Matt would fly to celebrate his anniversary with Ruthie when his marriage is in trouble. With his financial condition and the threat of his marriage ending it's more realistic that he'd spend every waking minute in New York trying to sort things out with his wife Sarah. But I guess he needed a break---but still. On another note, what is with Lucy in this episode? She really needs to concentrate more on her school work or get a job, because she really needs a life and to stop being in everyone else business. It was kind of odd and out of character for Eric and Annie to being discussing their children (Matt) in front of Lucy, but I guess now they see as an "adult" they will include her now in their "nosy" family discussions (a term Rabbi Glass said at best about the family being nosy). In most cases it wouldn't be right to come into town and not say "hi' to your family but I can understand Matt's reasons as I even gotta say that the Camdens do get out of control on the spying and I wouldn't go to them either as you know many questions will be going at you on things that is only your business in your personal life. Oh Barry, we love having you on the show. I know we'll be seeing you soon again.



Peter, Vic and Paris: What can I say, I actually like this storyline. I can't help it. I'm sure I'm in the minority on this but I really like Vic. His character is a real change of pace for MOST on the show as being sort of goodie-goodie with problems. He's got attitude, and that's not such a bad thing at all. Although I think he went a little out of line with the waiter. How was he supposed know he was an alcoholic? Other than that Vic is on my top list of favorite recurring characters this season. I guess I loved them in this episode is because the storyline was well-written and well-acted out by the actors and felt pretty real, and that's what's most important to a show in my opinion. I try to focus more on that than how much time did the Camdens have in this episode for each parent and child. Just focusing on that Camdens---or at least what's left of it on the show would get boring after a while. Besides I rather have this storyline on Peter, Paris and Vic than a storyline over the twins with them having a lot of dialogue. UGH, can you imagine right now with them? Sometimes seeing the community in their storylines isn't as bad---I mean this is a multi-generational show and the writers have given time for the viewers to get accustomed to them and see that they can now have their own little storylines that's not directly Camden related. Bue let's get back to the storyline. Honestly, I really thought in the end Paris and Vic would get all lovey-dovey and get engaged or at least start going out. Looking at "7th Heaven"'s history can you blame me? Usually there's some kind of wedding or engagement going on (although I think that happens with couples next week). Luckily, the writers weren't as predictable this time and they are finally letting Paris and Vic take time to continue to reconcile their differences. I mean he's been back for only two months! If Paris and Vic do develop and reconcile please let it be next season! It'll be more realistic on their relationship slowly getting better. Not everyone can rush into relationships and marriages only after a short while of meeting or reconciling.



Martin and Cecilia: Ah, teen love. And I feel sad for Martin. He really does genuinely care for Cecilia, but I think he could do better. I do think she's inheriting some of the not so charming Camden habits of spying and in others business when your not supposed to be (Mac and his friend?). It really seems to be getting serious between the two, as you know when the guy in the relationship is starting to share something personal to you. Wow, and we all thought Simon and Cecilia were gonna be together in the end. It's amazing, we know so much about Martin and his family history already and he's only be on for half a season and Cecilia (Ashlee Simpson) has been on for like a season and half and we don't know as much about her character.



The Others: Once again, why is Roxanne a regular on the show? She should be a recurring character and only be in episodes when she's needed and has a storyline of her own. How unbelievable for her to be a cop and give Lucy a police escort just so she can find out about Matt. Huh!? And Chandler---Ah, he's become Paris' little girlfriend! Hehe! No, just kidding. It's nice that Paris and Chandler are moving past their relationship and remaining friends, since they didn't go together for that long, but it was pretty good between the two of them while it last I might say.



Overall, this episode was terrific. Looking back I think I gave too much credit to last week's episode "Don't Speak Ill of the Dead or the Living" as the more I think about it, the more I didn't like it. I guess I was in denial on how much I didn't like it. Oh well, next weeks episode looks pretty good, even though a lot seems to focus a lot on non-Camdens again, but I'm starting to get used to it. At least Annie's sister is coming back again----and also the long awaited death of Annie's father Charles seems to be coming. See ya next week!

*Even though I think Catherine could still look a lot better, her going back to straight hair in this episode was an improvement over the freezy hair in past few episodes.



*Thank you so much Jeremy London. You finally got out of the ‘80s and cut off that mullet!



*Maybe a good reason why I like this episode more was that neither of the twins had any dialogue in this episode. We only saw them tossing a dodge ball to each other. I hate to say this but---Good! Keep them not talking.



*Even though I should of felt upset once again that Kevin acknowledged in this episode that Lucy is "nuts" all the time I couldn't help but feel the same and agree with him. Speaking of them----writers, please more newlywed storylines for the two!
