  • Trivia

    • Starting this season, Alyssa and Hannah Yadrick's names are now shown in the closing credits as playing the role of Savannah, which they've been doing since season nine.

    • At the end of this episode, and continuing through out the rest of the season, a tribute to the late Aaron Spelling was shown: "In memory of Aaron Spelling", Executive Producer, for 10 seasons.

    • This is the first episode of the series not to feature Mackenzie Rosman (Ruthie Camden).

    • The scenes shot with Haylie Duff (Sandy) and Tyler Hoechlin (Martin) were shot in New York City as Haylie Duff still had to complete her Broadway run of Hairspray, even after she signed on as series regular on 7th Heaven at the last minute.

  • Quotes

    • Kevin: What are you guys doing?
Lucy: Well, I told you that Savannah took an extra-long nap this afternoon and that she wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight.
Kevin: She does that sometimes. Sometimes, she takes a little bit of a longer nap than usual. It's okay, Luce.
Lucy: Yeah, it's fine, but then she doesn't sleep at night!

    • Sandy: (to Martin) Like you had any good reason for sleeping with me, either! You just hadn't done it yet and you wanted to just get it over with!

    • Martin: I don't want you dating Simon or anyone else.
Sandy: Yeah, well, maybe my life isn't about what you want. Maybe it's about what I want!

    • Annie: (about Lucy) She'll come around, Kev.
Kevin: I don't think she's going to come around anytime soon, and I'm tired of her being angry all the time. I mean, I understand it, but I'm tired of it.

    • Sandy: (on phone with a very curt Lucy): Martin came up to visit us this weekend, and I don't know what to do.
      Lucy: About what?
Sandy: About Martin....all of a sudden, he thinks we're supposed to get married or something.
      Lucy: Oh yeah?
      Sandy: Yeah. I mean, he's just so....I don't know....young.
Lucy: Hmm. Well, you know, he's not any younger than he was when you slept with him. You know, in fact, he's a year older.
Sandy: Um....yeah, I guess he is. Okay, well, I'm sorry I bothered you.
Lucy: You know, you're gonna have to get used to handling your own problems if you ever want to help other people with their problems.

    • Kevin: I thought you didn't want me to go with you guys.
      Lucy: I didn't say that.
Kevin: You said you wanted so spend some time with Savannah.
Lucy: Yeah, but I didn't say I wanted some time without you.
Kevin: So you wanted me to go?
Lucy: I didn't say that, either.

    • Eric: (on the phone with Lucy) We love you.
      Annie: We do, Luce.
Lucy: Even after what I did today?
      Annie: Yes.
Eric: And no matter what you do any day.

    • Martin: What's ridiculous is the fact that you even want to be a minister. I think you just want to be a Camden. You think that if you're a minister, then maybe Simon Camden will start to like you better, maybe even love you, maybe even marry you. Then you can be a Camden. And when I say "you," I do mean the old you as well as the new you. I mean, isn't that what you really want--to be a Camden?
Sandy: Listen....I think you should go.

    • Sandy: You don't really love me. I think you just don't want anyone else around me because of Aaron.
Martin: That's not true. But what would be wrong with that?
Sandy: What's wrong with that is that I deserve to be loved, too. And I deserve to be loved for me. For who I am.
Martin: You're the mother of my son. And I love you for that.
Sandy: Thank you. But I'm not just the mother of your son, and I'm not just Aaron's mother. That's just part of who I am and who I want to become. And I want to be a minister. I want to help other young pregnant women who grew up like I did--women who don't think they can change just because they made some mistakes in life.

    • Martin: (talking to Daniel about Sandy) Can't you take a hint?
Daniel: Can't you take a hint? She doesn't want you here. If you weren't Aaron's father, you wouldn't even be here.
Martin: If. Yeah, IF I weren't Aaron's father. But I am.
Daniel: Odd that you would wait until Sandy is interested in someone else before you start to take an interest in her and your son. Well, not really odd, more like.....immature.
Martin: What is this, judgment week at the seminary? You don't know anything about me.
Daniel: I know plenty. I know Sandy had a one-night stand with you just to make Simon jealous.

    • Lucy: I've been doing some thinking over the summer, because I didn't want to decide too quickly, but I think I've decided now. I don't ever want to try to have kids again, Kevin. Even if it's nobody's fault...it's you and me and Savannah, and these guys (points to the dogs). That's a big enough family for me.
Kevin: I understand. And if you decide to change your mind, I understand that too.

    • Martin: (he wants to marry Sandy) Why not?
Sandy: Because I'm not in love with you!
Martin: Well, maybe I'm in love with you.
Sandy: No, you're not. You're in love with your son, and that's great. But that doesn't mean you have to marry me.

    • Martin: This time last year, I wasn't even speaking to you.
      Sandy: Yeah...I remember.
Martin: We're like the perfect family, almost.
      Sandy: Almost.
Martin: We could be the perfect family.
Sandy: I'm not sure I even know what the perfect family is.
Martin: Yeah, well, I know what it isn't. It isn't some other guy raising my son.

    • Lucy: I'm not upset, I'm just irritated. Sandy is so irritating these days!
      Kevin: How so?
Lucy: How so? She thinks she's me. No, wait, I take that back. She thinks she's better than me. These converts, I tell you--they're fanatics!

    • Eric: (he and Annie are watching the twins sleep) Don't you just wish they could stay this young forever?
Annie: No, I really don't. I think each year is more interesting than the one before. I love watching them grow up. I love watching all our children grow up. I like to see them have children of their own.
Eric: Yeah, but Lucy's situation still just breaks my heart.

    • Kevin: How was the movie?
Lucy: Oh, we liked it, didn't we, Savannah? How was the movie? (Savannah babbles the word "cute")
Kevin: Cute! When did she learn to say that?
Lucy: Tonight. Sorry you missed it.

  • Allusions

    • The episode title, "Turn, Turn, Turn" is a song by The Byrds, a musical group that was popular in the 60's and 70's. It was also part of Eric's sermon the first episode and an example used by Annie when she was talking to Lucy about getting her period for the first time.
